Gotta love the way ITV kept us guessing with the End of Part Ones. Sometimes they cut at a moment of high drama, sometimes they do it when Alf's ambling towards a front door.

Audrey would try the patience of a Saint.. she doesn't listen to a single word Alf tries to say to her. I keep wanting him to shout "shut up" at her to stop her prattling on.
Mike Baldwin to Emily Bishop… ‘No problem at all, thanks Eileen’. Rare faux pas with using the actresses’ name rather than the character’s. Love that though. Thanks PG for putting these up, you’ve seen me through lockdown & a really serious knee injury! 🙌
Vera pushes an old woman out of the way in the shop, Because she is "in a hurry" to get back to work, and then stands there gossiping about one topic after another ...
Totally. I would love to have seen Deirdre choose Mike over him when she had the chance. The storylines would have been more interesting, I reckon! Loving these retro episodes though.
I know old people looked older back in the day but Phyllis only being 65 is pretty unbelievable....Jill Summers was born in 1910 so she would have actually been nearly 76 when this was filmed. Guess if they had used her real age she would have been too old to work in the cafe.
The faux "love" triangle between Phyllis, Percy and Sam is great. It provides light-hearted entertainment and comedy alongside the deeper storylines (such as Barlows/Baldwin).
@leehambleton9919 I think they were trying to keep up with EastEnders who had bad boy Nick Cotton, I would have preferred if they had left the Character be, Terry was likable back then.

Susan has to be the worst actress that was ever on Corrie 🤦♀️🤦♀️.. really soz if that’s an unpopular opinion.. but to be fair she was set up against the best of them so maybe that’s what made her look poor 🤦♀️ xxz
So Susan thinks all the factory girls are ‘past it’. Well Vera, Ivy, Ida etc are a certain age ( but I wouldn’t call them ‘past it’), and Shirley certainly isn’t!
The factory dialogue is so natural, all the gossip, speculation and bitching! The writers must devise a scene synopsis and they flesh it out brilliantly lol.
Ken abandoned that kid and obviously ignored her his entire life! He had no right to say anything to her now! And strange that Dreary thinks Ken is a family man! Why is she allowing Ken to be with Tracy when he abandoned his own??! 😂🤣
Absolutely loving these retro Corrie episodes. But I loathe "nay", used by Alf Roberts to name just one. I'm pushing 70 and I have never heard "nay" used as a substitute for no.

Audrey, England's most ambitious dosser, finds that 11 Coronation street, is somehow beneath her!
Exactly! She was happy enough to rough it there when Elsie put her up when she had nowhere else!
They made Audrey's character into nothing more than a prostitute. In fact, the way they portray women is really sexist. I never realised.
