In this video you will learn how to Use audacity to help your voice sound great after editing. This is a step by step beginners tutorial which goes straight to the point and is easy to understand.
thank you SO much! I've just gotten my 1st audio book narration and still don't know how to remove breaths! Advice? It's a longer recording so doing these clean-ups will be tedious. Longer narration edits as one records would be GREAT! THANK YOU! You've really saved the day!
Amazing video! This is actually the 5th or 6th tutorial video for Audacity that I've watched. This one, along with 1 other are my favorites. However, even the other one that I liked didn't cover a couple of the things that you did but you covered everything that he did. So, that makes this video the absolute best Audacity tutorial that I've seen. And I absolutely love your voice, accent, tone and delivery. It's very relaxing and calming and it just put me at ease and made me comfortable from the very start. I don't know why I get so nervous doing tutorial videos. You would think I was taking a final exam or something. Lol. Also, your pacing and attention to detail was the best that I've seen. It's seems like some of these guys forget that they are actually doing a tutorial and just do stuff without fully explaining how they got there and before you know it, you're two steps behind trying to figure out how to get where they are. I can't stand when people who are doing tutorials do that. But you didn't. Thank you.
AMAZING! Thank you Dorothy! SIMPLE Straight forward and just what a BEGINNER NEEDS! I can be up and running with your tutorials. Love your Movie Maker and Video Editor Tutorials as well. EXCELLANCE AGAIN. Thank Hugo Atlanta, GA
Well done. I like your tips for removing plosives. Two comments...if plosives are a problem when you record, try putting on some chap stick...I know it sounds weird but it lubricates your lips to help plus you can slightly turn your head left or off axis when you record and say those plosives words. On usb mics....look also at audio technica at-2020 usb. Great USB mic and it is also affordable. It has a great sound. Great video. Now using audacity on m1 MacBook!
Thank you so much, very easy and informative! Question: Why is is that you record mono and then transfer to stereo? What is the advantage vs. recording in stereo or just sending the track as is in mono?
thank you for your video. It is very helpful. I like the way you go through each step. I am new with Audacity and I learned several things from your video.
Thank you, this is very helpful! 🥰 My view is number 20,000 for your video, and I gave you a well deserved thumbs up. 😊 I am impressed with your attention to details, and you have such a pretty voice and a lovely accent. 👩🎤
Although I hope not, I may have a need that is impossible even with the brilliant Audacity magic wand. Suggestions? I have an MP3 of a song's author telling the story that prompted him to write the song, while in the background we hear the recording of him and his band singing and performing it (just one voice singing plus a piano and an organ) performing the song. This is an old black gospel song. The part I want to isolate is him speaking and telling the story. If this is not entirely possible I would settle for greatly reducing the background music so that his narration stands out much stronger. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much what a very simple practical tutorial and YOUR voice is so soothing, will continue watching your tutorials and recommand it alo. Wonder if you could give more details for female voices in the equalizer or line curve? my seond question is about some sounds similar to Plosive but like a clacks not sure if it came from micro... can I use plosive to reduce it or another effect?
Yes, you can use the fade in and fade out (plosive method) for that. I use the same setting as in the video for the filter curse and it usually works well on all my audios
I recorded in multiple tracks. Should I edit the tracks individually and then combine them or should I put the tracks together and then edit it as one track? Should I just record in one track next time? If so, how can I record one track and still take breaks (i.e. not record the whole track in one day)?
Hei! I am trying to learn how to edit many tracks. One playlist and connect the songs, editing volume. Like a group training in the gym. It could be nice if you teach it. :-)
Thank you for your video! I'm having a problem: Every time I export a file (either WAV or MP3), the file has certain "length" per se, but when import it, it's waaayyyy longer than before. Using your own sample around min 2.4 when you've imported it, let's say that it was much longer that what you show. What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much in advance for your details when replying!
Right after downloading, when I'm inserting my recorded audio from my device, a dialogue box appears saying that ffmeg is not there n can't insert the video in mp3 format . How can I rectify this issue?
That is because you can only add an audio track into audacity not a video file. You need to export your video audio as only and audio track and then import into davinci resolve.
What if I want to edit and save only a small portion of the video ? How to do ? Do I have to duplicate the the required audio n edit it , then how do I save that edited small portion of audio to my device?
Dorothy, your tutorial is not a complete guide to use Audacity. As a beginner, my initial need is to learn how to use the controls to record, edit, save, etc. Think eighth-grade lesson planning! Please let me know where I can find a step-by-step tutorial and how to use Audacity?

Very intuitive, thanks
Thank you so much, very easy and informative! Question: Why is is that you record mono and then transfer to stereo? What is the advantage vs. recording in stereo or just sending the track as is in mono?
i explain that in the video. So that the sound comes out evenly not just one sided.
thank you for your video. It is very helpful. I like the way you go through each step. I am new with Audacity and I learned several things from your video.

Dorothy's voice doesn't need editing.
I suggest using a k669 USB mic! It’s very budget friendly and good audio!
Thank you. You are a fantastic tutor!

Thank you for creating this content. I am a new content creator on Rumble, and this has been a fantastic help in clearing up my audio!
Yay!!!

Thank you!

Here, I am from India.❤️👍
Nice
I have the latest audacity, but there are no record /edit buttons etc appearing in the interface
Good tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Wait...so how can I record it without clicking on the red button thing??

that was actually helpful
but give us more examples not just saying this is before and after let me hear it
I don't know if it is appropriate anymore for men to compliment women but you have a beautiful, pleasant voice!
What is the need of compressing
💯💯💯
For female voice : how to know that we keeping the line at 130 or 140 Hz ?
Can you explain filter curve EQ
Y we are changing the graph in filter curve?
Is it a must to change values of bass boost n treble boost ?
What new changes does it bring in our audio?
What if I want to edit and save only a small portion of the video ?
How to do ?
Do I have to duplicate the the required audio n edit it , then how do I save that edited small portion of audio to my device?
I love u
glad you found it useful

The title is misleading. This isn't a 2023 tutorial --= it's two years old.
It's NOT """HOW""" it looks like. It's """WHAT""" it looks like. STOP USING BLACK TALK.
