    This is very disturbing to hear especially for frequent and future travelers. Why fix what is not broken? Let Punta Cana be Punta Cana and let Sosua be Sosua. That's why they are different.

      It's pure greed and the culprits pushing for these illogical changes, have no care for the happiness of the locals, the enormous amount of national visitors, the Sosua businesses success, or massive mixed tourism satisfaction. Their agenda is to satisfy politicians, large investors pockets and a small percentage of wealthy visitors at everyone else's expense - shame on them!

      @@EducatedTraveler Thank you for keeping your ear to the wire and your continued coverage on these important topics! Hopefully the local people will continue to not stand for these types of changes.

    Story sounds familiar, The Shinnecock Nativve Americans in Southampton N.Y. said that is how they lost their land.

    I think the government wants the mainstream dollars. The beach is beautiful and has great potential. That potential will be realized at the expense of the common working man and locals. I love sosua beach but money talks and progress is inevitable.

      They waited for sosua to thrive, then they want a land grab.
      The government never contributed to the boom in sosua. Have you seen come to sosua adverts?

    That's been happening in PR too. Politicians selling public property for political gain.

    Hi Mr. T I definitely understand where you coming, in my humble opinion a Dominican born and grow up in the US I have to go with job creation if building hotels and making the area somewhat like Punta Cana in that create more job them I think it will benefit those who are in need to have a permanent job with benefits, so the question will be a couple hundred jobs as of right now or thousands of jobs after, please let me know what you think

    • @manfredmunzebrock8566
      @manfredmunzebrock8566 2 года назад +5

      The new jobs are going to be distributed to only a few residents or barowners. But the worst thing is, this beautiful place with it's wonderful charme will be forgotten and Sosua will be like another boring town. That's IT !!!

    • @EducatedTraveler
      @EducatedTraveler  2 года назад +10

      The "Cabal" pushing for this, would if they succeeded selectively offer the opportunity of owning a shop or restaurant at these small areas to "whom they see fit" - folks from their "circle" and everyone else will get a kick in the face, go broke, loose their businesses and hundreds loose their jobs compared to the few that would be offered. Such illogical and potentially illegal changes, would not only destroy jobs, businesses and tourism on the beach, but it would leave Sosua's up-town businesses dead in terms of tourism as well. The same cabal has been attacking this town with this crap and bullying by police for two decades now, so it's time Sosua's residents show these parasites what happens when they mess with the bulls!

      @EducatedTraveler  2 года назад +5

      Covid brought change, but was any of it good?? Only positive change for the people and businesses at large is worth striving for. The moment Government and the wrong wealthy investors push their selfish agenda's, then the masses loose just to fill the pockets of a few!

    Hi Mr T. I’m watching your video in disbelief. I miss Sousa so much! Especially Sousa beach 🏝 and Miguel’s chicken wings and Icey cold Presidente!! It seems like no one cares in this new world of ours about anything anymore. So sad. I hope to God this doesn’t happen and things will remain the same down there. Happy Semana Sante!

      Thanks for watching! Yes, everyone who values the ambience of the current beach, need to protect the rights of the existing beach businesses. Brgds, Mr.T
