More then an awesome Pro Tools tutorial, this is a masterclass on how to do a non-bullshit, straight-to-the-point tutorial on a software. These were the exact tools I wanted to start playing around with PTF =D
Thank you! I was unknowingly editing in grid mode, which was super frustrating! What I wanted to do was be able to move/cut my audio freely and in any spot other than the grid locations, and slip editing was what I was looking for!
thank you for this!!! my class assignment is making us use this, and they didn't exactly go through the program properly. thanks for saving my grade :')
The problem with pro tools is the price for the full version. There are other daws that are just as good for much less money. The industry standard argument doesn't apply anymore unless you want a job where they insist that you use it. There are other studios that do not use PT. Of course I understand if someone has been using it for a long time that there is no point switching but if you are starting out, why go with the most expensive daw for no advantage. Just my opinion. I am open to learning otherwise. I use Reaper and can do anything that pt does and more especially the ability to personalize the interface.
hi I was using audacity and liked it. but timing wasn't spot on. so I tried reaper but it's way to complicated for me. pro tools is the next easiest one to use I think. can you recommend any other. easy to you but not expensive to buy?thanks.
Eugene Flanagan Logic Pro, Cubase . You have to get the demos and choose one that you feel good with, but don't start switching from one to the other. All the main daws do all the important things. Read up on them and make sure that the ones you try do the things that you need. Take your time deciding but once you decide, I suggest you stick with it after a month or so. The worst is to become very proficient with a good daw and switch and take another 6 months to learn it and then go back. You want to be good at your career path. The daw will not determine your success . Training your ear and learning to deal with people is much much much more important. A successful professional will succeed no matter which daw they use, because it's their knowledge and talent that counts, not the daw they use.
Eugene Flanagan it's worth taking the time to learn it. Once you get it, it will become easy. The fact that you can set it up any way you want is incredible. You can create your own personalized interface. Reaper is the best. It has features that will blow your mind. I think you want to have a daw to make your music career better. If it's just for fun then it doesn't matter, but if you are into it for your future then you have to invest time instead of always going the easiest way. If you want easy then go with garage band. You can do all the basic stuff and it's free. You know it's like anything in life, when you accomplish something that was difficult, you feel better about yourself. You feel proud because you learned something challenging. There are 2 great reaper channels, reaper mania and reapertv
