If you have questions about the measurements, I made a video, which explains all the measurements. You can watch my, "Rat Breeding Rack Measurements! How to #2," here... ruclips.net/video/HRxp1i_nPJI/видео.html
I just built this after watching this video (by the way I subscribe to you) I followed the other video as well that you made. Both videos was very informational on how to build it. I have it 70in tall with 7 tubs for my rat breeding. Thank you for showing us how's it's built. If anyone want pictures of my rat rack I can send pictures through email. I built it just like this video but somethings a lil different and a lil better for me. Again thank you for having this detail rat rack on RUclips 🤑🤑
Thanks for the video! I went and built one based on 2 pictures I found on google & my rack came out super ugly and wobbly mainly because I didn’t use a drill bit to pre drill holes & I didn’t use a corner clamp either. Now I know!
Hey, I love the video and greatly appreciate your attention to detail, so thank you. I was able to find the exact tubs at Lowe’s and was going to attempt this build, but first I wanted to check in with you and see how well the rack has been preforming over the past year and a half. Also, if you wouldn’t mind shooting me your “preferred” dimensions and any helpful tips you might have if you did this all over again. Thank you again for your time and help.
+TnT Balls Ya, I got some measurements in the description, and also another video, pinned at the top of the comments, that shows the measurements of my latest rack! Let me know if you need anything else.
The Royal Ball Shack is there a particular reason that the runners that the tubs slide on is shorter than the frame? I am also interested in the gravity fed waterer and was wondering if this is why you chose to shorten them.
XxPowerSurgeXx Yep. That's the exact reason. I say it somewhere in the video. With the frames sticking out 4" past the runners, you can easily remove and replace the tubs, without removing the water nipples.
Love the clean look. Have you had any problems with the rats/mice chewing the plastic, wood or wire? If so have they ever gotten out? Also, how long would one of these racks last considering its unfinished wood.
+jonathan kidd Had 1 rat chew at the cross piece of the frame, but she's gone now. Other than that, no chewing or damage to anything. If I caught a rat chewing, I would cull it. The rack is indoors, and doesn't get wet. I would imagine it would last a LONG time, possibly forever...
You can always make an auto water system with a bucket and tubing using the gravity method. Just a 5 Gal bucket, tubing, and they sell the nozzles for feeder mice/rats anyways for like $2 each.
tlpv_5 I'm going to have to do a lot of figuring to give you a good answer. I can't remember exactly. I'll get back to you when I have some extra time, to figure it out, and give you a good anwser. Sorry.
Charity Mullins The leg length on this specific rack is 70". To shorten the rack, you could put the frames closer together, and/or have the bottom tub closer to the ground.
+Eivy Cain Depends on the line of rats, and if you feed f/t or live. I have 7 BPs, a good line of rats, and feed f/t. With 2 male rats, and 8 females, I produce plenty for 7 BPs. If you feed live, you'll need more females, so you always have the sizes you need. I also switched to using maternity tubs for the rats. I'll do an update video soon.
I'm almost finished building another rack... I'll do a quick video showing the measurements, hopefully this week. I appreciate the honest feedback. Thanks!

Before you write comments that make you sound uneducated, maybe you should do a little research. These are big tubs. Most feeder breeders keep a lot more than 4 rats in these tubs. Thanks for your comment.

Would these tubs work for mice?
SDReptiles yes
Tubes still at Lowe’s but no sticker and has a hole for a latch was is nice too

I supported
God bless you.

Nicely made, very clean build!
Thanks! I've made a few changes, and added an auto water system. I'll have to do an update soon.
Nice vid. Good information. Thanks for putting it out.
Snake Lady Thanks for the kind words!

I just subbed to your channel. Great and informative video .
Thanks for the video how many Medium size rats can you produce in a month with this setup
hey man what are the exact measurements that you used to build this rack? i just wanna have an idea of how i should build one
glo up I just added the dimensions of the rack to the description of the video. Thanks!
Kool, now I'm gonna build at least a 3 container station
If you did this for ball pythons would you use plywood instead of wire or can you use wire I'm new . Trying to learn .
Do you know what size of tub would be fine for 2 breeder female rats?
hey bro I got those exact tubs today along with the wood you used at lowes today could I get the exact measurements you used?
+TnT Balls Ya, I got some measurements in the description, and also another video, pinned at the top of the comments, that shows the measurements of my latest rack! Let me know if you need anything else.
very helpful video. ty
Going Yooper No problem! Hope it helps!
If you have the info available I would like the measurements for this rack. Just the wooden pieces of course. Very nice rack!
XxPowerSurgeXx I just added the dimensions of the rack to the description of the video. I'll be adding a lumber list soon! Thanks!

very nice job .. n good info 😊😊 .. u da man
Thanks man! I've made a few changes, and added an auto water system. I'll have to make an update soon.

im building this tomorrow thanks i subed bro
Thanks! Now im gonna make one
I would like the dimensions on this... I can’t find the discription on this... I’m on my phone
What type of wood is that?
Would using 1x2" boards for the frame on top of the bins be ok, do ya think?
Thank you for a great tutorial. Can you please tell me where you got those water bottles? I have never seen them. Thanks!
Solid video, tks
tlpv_5 Thanks!
What would u recommend as measurements between tubs now that u have an auto water system? 8”? 6”? Something else?
Can you put them in the garage or would it be too cold?
Does the tub slide out ok with the watering system? Assuming you have it already lol
You can always make an auto water system with a bucket and tubing using the gravity method.

Viper0hr Yep. I've had a gravity auto water system set up for a long time now. I'll have to do an update video soon.
Awesome rack! Sadly, I am not build-savvy and my attempt failed.
I can never win. 😂
I will just hire someone to do it for me.
How many 2x2 did you use?
tlpv_5 I'm going to have to do a lot of figuring to give you a good answer. I can't remember exactly. I'll get back to you when I have some extra time, to figure it out, and give you a good anwser. Sorry.
The Royal Ball Shack oh no worries. Towards the end you said you used 12 or 13 2x2. I was able to build my rack tks to your instructions. Tks again!
How long did it take to get your first litter of babies after getting your rats and then how often does a female have babies?
Exactly how tall are the legs?
Charity Mullins The leg length on this specific rack is 70". To shorten the rack, you could put the frames closer together, and/or have the bottom tub closer to the ground.
what was the ball park figure this cost?
How many tubs do you suggest if i'm feeding under 10 bp's?
+Eivy Cain Depends on the line of rats, and if you feed f/t or live. I have 7 BPs, a good line of rats, and feed f/t. With 2 male rats, and 8 females, I produce plenty for 7 BPs. The Royal Ball Shack ok, I'm feeding f/t
+Eivy Cain 1-2 female rats per ball python should give you enough.
I use the same bins for my mice, I may get bigger ones as the mice get older and bigger. I love them as pets lol
I want to use this, but with large tubs!
I found tubs that are deeper
Check Woodprix mates. I love it to my wooden projects.
Step by step, very detailed rack directions here:

I have to admit, you have the most confusing dimentions ever. I am so lost
I'm almost finished building another rack... I'll do a quick video showing the measurements, hopefully this week. I appreciate the honest feedback. Thanks!
4 rats in a tiny tub???? You need to get a real job (if you can land one) so that you could afford to do this correctly.

Don't mind the armchair elitists...
These cages are cruel and inhumane shame on you
Animal Lover429 You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. My rats are VERY well taken care of. Do some research. Thanks for your comment.
Trolls will be trolls.
thats nice
thanks
