Thank you very much for posting this !
With this impressive opening Olivier Latry began his unique "Concert Grandes-Orgues" last week (10 june 2008)at the Notre Dame in Paris. It was an unbelievable experience to be there and to hear him play on his organ in this church with that fantastic accoustics.
What a sound, what an insprired organist, what an organ, what a church !
It fits all together in a unique, marvellous way.
    Once more thanks !

I love what you are doing. You are providing a great service to Francophiles everywhere -- & to us lovers of French instruments who can't travel across the Atlantic at the moment. I have one tiny favor: could you keep recording until the reverberation finishes? One of the great joys of French instruments is the reveberant rooms they speak into -- we don't get that here in America, except in very rare instances. Please keep the microphone on a few seconds longer ;-)

    Thanks!
What an amazing organ. It's one of my goals to play here before I'm 18.

I liked the organ from the Cochereau days, but its not bad not either. Too me now it has a bit more English "fullness" to it where during the Cochereau days it was just full of bite and snap. I like the tonal quality of both eras.

    Amazing.
Where in the cathedral did you record this? (nave, organ loft...).
Great music, great organist, great organ.
It is my goal to play on this organ.

So good but man I wish it was clearer! Are there any good cds of tournemire on the notre dame organ?

Awesome recording. But Notre Dame is so bloody crammed with clueless tourists. About as ridiculous as Westminster Abbey or Canterbury Cathedral. Saint Sulpice or Saint Eustache are far preferable, and if you're in the UK, visit Hereford Cathedral or Beverley Minster if you wish to have a moment away -and some silence- from the throngs.
