The singer, Will Ramos, is like the sweetest nicest guy ever. There's also a video with The Charismatic Voice where they put a camera down his throat while singing / making those sounds.

Agreed. Will is easily one of the nicest people in metal. I don't listen to lorna unless I'm watching reactions or Charismatic Voice. It's a little too overwhelming for me to listen to all the time, but it's enjoyable in smaller doses.
the "I'm surprised I don't hate it" sounds very familiar to me
I listen to this all the time so some of my friends hear it as well, and one of those friends said that he enjoyed it because of the flow and instrumental, despite not being into this genre at all
Instrumental is great, but also the vocals while heavy were quite impressive!

Yes most of the time I only understand like 10 to 20% of the vocals in songs like this without reading lyrics and listening at the same time.
It gets a bit easier to understand the more you listen to extreme vocals but at least for me its never just 100% I'm hearing and comprehending everything he's screaming

I loved that you went into this with an open mind and enjoyed it! This song is definitely not the easiest to listen to especially for someone who hasn’t quite adapted to this sound. But there’s tons and tons of different songs of this sort. The album “Immortal” by this band is insane and is with their old vocalist. I’d recommend the title track Immortal, King Ov Deception, or Death Portrait. Or I you want to check out more of this vocalist definitely Of The Abyss and Sun//Eater

I saw them in concert when they kicked off the Carnage and Chaos tour and Will Ramos their lead vocalist sounds the exact same live and it's insane!! He's also a very sweet person and has a great stage presence lol

I absolutely love Lorna Shore in kind of the way that Will's voice is an instrument he can do insane things with. So it kind of sits with other very talented instrumentalists (like Polyphia or Asterism) for me where it's not what I'm after all the time but I have an amazing time listening to them.

This kinda music is intending on making you imagine utter darkness then they pull your shoulders down deeper into the water. Youre supposed to feel disgusted and crushed, surrender to the shadows.

So what a lot of the reactors who are not very familiar with black/death metal are doing, especially with Lorna Shore it seems, is they pull up lyrics alongside the video (obviously we can't see the lyrics). But it seems to kind of help and will help you get past just the shock of the sound and help you identify the message within the song as well.

You should check out Cronic Slaughter by Slaughter to Prevail if u want to just go insanely heavy. Or check out the eagle flies alone by Arch Enemy for just a great band overall. Like i can't think of a band that works better between every member and thier abilitytoplay with/off of each other. Everything compliments everything in that band and Alissa the vocalist of the band is really amazing to the point where people misteak her for a man if they only listen to the music without seeing her

As someone who doesn't know much by Lorna Shore, Will Ramos is one of the best vocalists in the scene rn. His range is insane. Another great vocalist is Ben Duerr of the band Shadow of Intent. I recommend the song The Heretic Prevails. It's such a cool song vocally and instrumentally.

Even if the genre isn't your preference, the skillset displayed with the musicians and the effectiveness of the music to give you the intended feeling (intensity, anger and fear) is well worth the view
Worm Shepherd is very similar to Lorna Shore. They’re a bit more heavier, but extremely underrated. I highly recommend their songs ‘Accursed’ and ‘Wretchedness Upon the Gates’.

I give you alot of credit this is definitely a genre that can be pretty difficult to adjust to if you're unfamiliar with it. Chelsea Grin has some great tracks too if you want to hear different styles and vocals within the genre. Awesome video ❤️

@@egirlreactsmusic Suicide Silence is one of the bands that paved the way for Deathcore. they were the biggest deathcore band at one point. from the early 2000's and to the early 2010's. and the genre has developed quite a lot since. every band respects them, they are legendary. and unfortunately their Original Vocalist Mitch Lucker died in 2012 from a Motorcycle Accident. but he lives on in all of us. and from time to time I like to think that he possesses us on stage during our best performances

That kind of singing requires some very precise harmonic placement on the soft palette of the roof of the mouth, called fry screaming. And on the false vocal chords just above the true vocal chords. For obvious reasons that's called false chord screaming. And then the sound produced from this two types of singing is manipulated by the use of mouth shape, tongue placement, breath control as well as elongation, dilation and flexion of the epiglottis and to some minor extent the trachea. It takes some training just to perform those kinds of vocals without damaging you throat.
Let alone do it to get to his level. Will Ramos, Dickie Allen from Infant Annihilator and Alex the Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail are definite top contenders for the best Deathcore singers out there.

You should definitely check out Shadow of Intent - From Ruin We Rise, Ben Duerr' voice is equally if not more incredible, he doesn't do as many highs as he used to but his lows are absolutely insane. Lorna and Shadow are easily my 2 fav bands at the moment, musical mastery from both bands.

You should check out The Afterimage or Brand of Sacrifice. They are the same band, they changed genres after they disbanded. It's crazy how far their music has come since they first started in the metal scene.

Before this song came out, I mostly listened to metalcore, and thought deathcore was too heavy. But I strangely couldn't get enough of this song, and I began to understand the lyrics the more I listened. Now I mostly listen to deathcore, and that's all because of Will Ramos (Lorna Shore) and Alex Terrible (Slaughter To Prevail).

It's one hell of a band from Japan, they're classified as deathcore & "Visual-Kei" (dress up with long hair, make-up, flamboyant-feminine clothes and such).
