    Keep the season going! I really love that your introducing people new to ONI. Before this series, my way of playing ONI is to make a world, not even get to mid game, then create a new world. Rinse, recycle, repeat lol

      Any of his other playthroughs are basically guides for different parts of the game, including the mid and late game. The problem with continuing a guide series like this is the guides become more specific, he's basically already done a lot of the mid and late game tutorials. That's why he emphasized exploring your planetoid early, you want to find out what you're working with and then you can look up the tutorials for that if you want. Otherwise I recommend his other playthroughs, the one he's doing now on the chaos seed is already very interesting, he just started the early/mid game with his first SPOM.

    You should add an ONI mid level and Experts guide. Would be a good addition to this series, and give some good advice for noticing issues with later game colonies

    Echo, I've played this game for hundreds of hours (top played game on Steam) and your Beginner's Guide has been immensely helpful, as well as several other guides of yours. I'd love to see a guide for mid-game play, with similar care and thought applied. Excellent work, good sir!

    Recently got back into ONI and decided to finally go for Space after 200+ hours of restarting colonies once I get to the SPOM/Steel/Plastic stage. Your tutorial series has been immensely helpful in getting me back into the game, so thank you!

    I don't want to say this, but... I'm pretty sure back when the game released, I was REALLY bad. Thanks to this made me see all the mistakes I made back then. Didn't even know about concepts of rooms, morale, weight of gases, etc. I didn't even know those critter were useful at all. Thanks you for your knowledge, hopefully I will start using it from now on!

    Just finished the series. Great job in covering everything. When I first looked at a few first time playthroughs of the game I was thinking “ what a cute little mining game” then after watching them kill all their colonists in horrible ways in a couple cycles ( still funny) I thought I needed a good starter guide because I real Zed there was a lot of physics in the game. This is definitely a game for science buffs! Thanks for the hard work and great job covering everything. Looking forward to deep diving into your deeper coverage of each subject videos.
    This was the first video on the game I wasn’t screaming at the screen “No you idiot don’t do that!” Followed by “ why would you do x before you did y?”. Mmmm so much common sense and logic, it feeds my soul.

    I have never used the oxylite in the storage trick, I usually just use the canister emptier and empty the o2 canisters that pile up from the atmo suits. I usually let it get 50-75kg per tile O2, And let them live with the Ears Popped debuff. A nice built module will easily have enough morale bonus and over power the debuff. I did all my Plastic Research machine thingy, And did not have any issues and stress stayed at 0%. The c02 piles up in one tile and cant do much against 70kg per tile etc. And I used the Outhouse the whole time and never used the wall toilet either. It helps rocket height this way because no gas cargo thingy. Also please keep the series going, Even more experienced players like to watch and to relax.

    On the liquid vents (can't recall @Echo specifying this); they only stop pouring liquids out of them when the liquid tile covering it is at, or above, 1t / 1000kg, so the example as shown doesn't work on all liquids, e.g crude oil and petrolium forms a new tile below the overpressure measurement (somewhere around 810kg - 920kg).
    Personally had a number of wet accidents when I first started out with ONI cause of this, and hope others finds this useful 😊

      Now, with the final episode complete, I'll be one of (probably) many to say;
      Great series @EchoRidgeGaming. Highly detailed for newer players, and to the point. Hope it'll track better now that the series is finished. Keep it up ❤

  • @berys4331
    @berys4331 Год назад +1

    Learned the hard way that you have to use hydro sensors to close the liquid vents if you want to make a little accessible reservoir of either crude oil or petroleum. Since these two liquids don't naturally max out at 1000kg per tile the vent will never stop letting more in, at least until you have other problems with tiles breaking due to pressure damage.

    Excellent series Echo! I've played a fair bit of ONI, but never managed to get through the mid game, never launched a rocket, never done the radiation stuff, never really made full use of the dlc. It's too easy to just restart when you've made a mess or can't see how to do something more technical! At least now I can give it a proper bash! So thank you in advance :)

    So this is quite interesting up to this point, I liked the game.
    Then once you hit water into oxygen things get so complicated that becomes more a torture than enjoyment.
    If you throw on top of that automation systems and more it becomes scary to jump in.
    My 2 cents, now I remember why I stopped playing the game. Yet I LOVED the guide and I will continue to enjoy the series since I don't have to figure out or suffer it :D

    misconception about the 'vacuum' of space is it actually doesn't "suck" and is purely reliant on the outward pressure going into it. if your space shuttle has a leak you can literally stop it with your finger or duct tape.

    One thing that i missed.... Germs. I thought polluted water was same, but ran a water sieve for bathrooms, and started dumping "clean" water back into main tank, and boom! Germs. apparently room filled with chlorine gas is the solution to sanitize water, but I didn't realize germy water and polluted water were different things. lol

    Really love the game but it always got overwhelming and intimidating before I could get too far. This beginner series has been great to give me the right kind of mindset of working with what’s around me and help me have some beginning math figured out (food, SPOM, ranching, etc) now I can establish the basic needs worry free and have fun exploring biomes and etc! Thanks so much, I enjoyed learning the game with your tutorials and I followed along with the same game seed to get a good practice run with what I was learning (with a bit of occasional free styling of course) 😊

    Thank you for this begginer's guide Echo, I was all hyped by this game when it came out and got it right away, but the unforgiving no-tutorial gameplay of Klei made me drop it after a couple unsuccessful tries of not understanding of how everything works together.
    Since then it has been gathering dust until I got a suggestion for one of your videos a couple weeks ago, and now I'm almost 80 cycles in and having a blast with my dupes in a non-DLC colony and considering getting the DLC soon.
    Thanks again for all your guide videos! 👍👍👍

    I'm not sure how the new meteors work in Spaced out, but in the base game they had a pattern that lasts about 1000 cycles Something like: A A B A A B C B A A B A A B C D B A, (this isn't the exact pattern, just an example of a pattern close enough to describe what I remember of the pattern) with each letter representing progressively more intense showers. with the most intense showers happening towards the end of the repeating pattern but even towards the end of the pattern most meteor showers are still not very intense.
    I cannot imagine it is that different in Spaced out, where it's on a very long cycle and the most intense showers happen at the end of the cycle, but overall most showers are still the very weak ones.

    Worth mentioning to use "roundtrip" on the rocket. That way you know you have fuel to get back. Also you did not mention the oxylite placed like you did overwrite the carbon dioxide and you had 16kg oxygen in the module and popped eardrums.
