You and the Mrs would enjoy watching Matt's Crazy Art on RUclips. Those 2 matching pendants would make beautiful earrings. Another great video! Thank you
My husband and I have been collecting a lot of rocks since COVID. It started as an activity that got us outside and away from the crowds. Now, we need something to do with them! We recently purchased a tumbler since that seems like to easiest way to get started but I am very interested in the lapidary arts. I tried to find a Maker Space near me with lapidary equipment so I could try it out before making an investment. Unfortunately, I had no luck. In the meantime, I enjoy your videos on making cabs and Pandora beads! By the way, the state of Michigan should be paying you for showing the beautiful side of that state! I have never been to that part of the country, but my impression of Michigan, before I saw your videos, was not a good one. It was mostly based on the news, which only highlights the negatives of an area. My husband and I have put the northern part of Michigan on our vacation list and we plan to visit within the next 3-4 years. We currently live in Virginia where the rocks are not plentiful. The rivers and streams in the mountains near Shenandoah National Park have some pretty rocks however: jasper, unakite, "dragon's blood", and blue quartz. We do find fossils and shark teeth in the Potomac River, but we prefer rocks. By the way, I also love your videos where you are rock hunting the beaches, except the part where you drop a beautiful rock back into the water!!
Just before I retired from teaching, a new teacher had just started at our school who had just moved to Michigan. Before he first visited the state, his impression was that it was all like Detroit. Even Detroit isn't as bad as it used to be, but I never go there anyhow. Most of the state is more like what you see in my videos. Of course, I'm usually on a beach, but inland is a lot of woods in the northern half of the lower peninsula and all of the upper peninsula. The southern part is more farmland and that's where most of the population is.
I know I'm going to get some requests to buy these, but I don't plan to sell any. Check out my friend's Etsy shop. He's the one who taught me how to do these and he does them better than I do. www.etsy.com/shop/KiddRocksLapidary?fbclid=IwAR1HZjnKVRh9M68DFBPc3If5iRyjyCPBGUbFdlipXuyjyauDG8RpNinQY2o

Your wife is a lucky woman. I confess to being a bit envious. I had never thought about grooving the stones. I just do a wrap with wire. Hmmmm......
I didn't think of it either. If you spend enough time looking around the Internet, there are all sorts of good ideas out there.
These are beautiful especially when you think about the wonder of these rocks just lying around on the ground and then becoming these magnificent interstellar jewels. Also aren't those blades and sanders dangerous? Your fingers are so close to them when you are working.
I like how I can go from a rock that I found to a piece of jewelry. I didn't do that with these, I bought slabs and started there. But I have started with rocks the I found too.

I love it!!!! Great job it came out beautiful
You and the Mrs would enjoy watching Matt's Crazy Art on RUclips.
Those 2 matching pendants would make beautiful earrings.
Another great video! Thank you
Thanks, I'll check that out.
Thanks for a really nice project tutorial. I like the idea of using the clamp to hold the needle nose pliers and I like your wire wrapping method.
None of this is my idea. My friend Chuck made a really nice tutorial on the Rock Tumbling Hobby website.
Michigan Rocks Thanks for passing the knowledge on to the rest of us !!! Always enjoy your channel !!!
Beautiful!
Great job! Looks beautiful 👍
Thanks!
You wife is fortunate to have you😃👍.
I'm lucky she puts up with me. I make a lot of noise in the basement.
