    It's such a strange coincidence - I was talking to my (now teenage) daughter today about the first thing she ever gave me.
    When she had just learned to walk, I took her out into the backyard and let her go exploring.
    She found a small rock that I guess she must have though looked nice, and gave it to me.
    I still have it, and while I was talking to her about it today, I idly wondered if it could be made into a piece of jewelry or something.
    How strange that your video showed up in my feed today. I have never really watched this type of thing before, so I have no idea why it was in my feed to begin with.
    Anyway, I really enjoyed the video, so now you have a new subscriber :)

    Ty for sharing! The first time we were leaving a Drs appt and hubby saw me looking 👀 out the window and said- are you looking at the rocks?! HAHA, yes! You and another take me along and have graciously shown me what can be found & achieved. Used to only look in certain areas, like beach & river beds. Not any longer ;) Also went straight to Etsy, but was sold. Congrats to the new owner, just mesmerizing gorgeousness 🌻

    1st. Nice work. Turned out great.
    2nd. I'm sure I speak for a few others when I say. Please take it easy on advertising the parking lot finds. Granted there is alot of rock out in the world. But only so much in town. Lol😂. It makes rock hounding a bit easier for the kids to find a quality stone at accessible distance, etc, teaching and all other benefits implied. Some people will use and abuse this to a point were no one will benefit from it. For my own personal collection. I still prefer to go out into the wild. This has made teaching my daughter aspects of it all, sooo much easier. She's still little. Thanks for your consideration and for your contributions to our world of rocks. 😁

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! I'm going tp have tp disagree with you on advertising the parking lot finds. There are more rocks in the city than anywhere else. There are literally hundreds of spots like the one i showed in this video. There are some people that cant get out to beaches and i like to give them other options for findimg beautiful rocks. Im against not sharing locations. Everyone deserves the chance to see and hunt for cool rocks. Some people dont have the means to find those places.

    When I first saw it, I thought it was alkaline granite because the red looked so much like feldspar. But without obvious quartz, it can't be granite. Mohs hardness of the red would tell feldspar vs. jasper.

    Those red orbs look a little like hematite. I find a lot of them on the beach in a calcedony matrix. If you've ever seen botryoidal hematite, it forms little balls, often with a quartz center. The red color is a little muted so you are probably right & it is botryoidal red jasper in some sort of brecciated basalt. Cool find.

    • @RockhoundingLife

      Interesting! I miss-identified the red orbs in the video. It isnt jasper but feldspar. Once it was polished it was clear it was feldspar. It was also very soft through the saw.

    I just got a notification for your channel and I'm so excited! My hubby now knows that if we go shopping, he may have to do it alone so I can check out the rocks 😂

    Hi, it's beautiful. I always feel sheepish finding rocks in a parking lot, like I should ask permission or something. But this was your employer so it's all good. I don't see the link to your Etsy Store....
