In MK 9 he only absorbed the souls of a small cemetery. In MK trilogy he absorbed most of earth's souls leaving only the main characters. It's the games explanation behind why most levels are deserted and void of life
The truth is, he's the best of all for a reason, he's the emperor. And the boss for the most part. So, what do you expect, that he be weak? People have their favorites, but Shao Kahn in a more realistic plane would be the true innate power

He has a fatality in the N64 version which smash his opponent with his hammer then he smash his opponent again with his hammer causing the opponent to explode.
Seeing playthroughs as Shao Kahn are weird. Against normal characters the rounds tends to boil down to spamming his basic kick, which I see does make for an easy infinite if your opponent is in the corner. Then whenever you fight him there are moves used, and he tends to put up more of a fight than the other bosses when playing as a boss. What it looks like is that he counters other bosses since they have a hard time avoiding his attacks, especially his rising knee.
It's sad this Shao Kahn and the bosses you play as are nerfed with their attacks. Their attacks don't make the opponent stumble but block easily and just punish you. The boss Shao Kahn every single attacks makes you stumble even when blocked Even the war hammer move doesn't even stun them 😐☹️ 3:00

@@TheBlackScatPack on the Saturn version of the game this doesn’t happen. Only on the PC and PSX versions. I’m not sure why that’s the case, and it always kinda annoyed me.
