@@oysterhead5150 remind me how many albums Korn has sold since 07? From 07-23 they haven’t even sold more then 3 million albums. From 94-05 they sold 14 million. So yeah Ray took them to another level haha
@@DSKTBH Has nothing to do with album sales, but musically they are so much better now, even heavier I might add, more technical thanks to Rays amazing drumming.
Great work. Silvera was such an underrated drummer and sometimes what seems simplistic is far harder than it seems. I prefer the original drums as they're simpler than this cover but great interpretation all the same.
Just really shows how innovative Korn’s original drummer was. Korn grooves were always special….Edit: My 2 cents on the Ray vs David thing: Obviously Ray is a great drummer otherwise he'd never play in Korn. However, in a band like Korn, style supersedes technic IMO. Ray is a better technical drummer but really, like Joey and Slipknot, Without David Korn would have never sounded the way they did. It wasn't about the fills (and Rey does a lot , to me, unnecessary fills) it was about the heavy funk groove. David always sounded like he was 'dragging' the beat in a perfect way. Hard to explain. Rey, like Jay in Slipknot, are excellent technical drummers but both lack what made the origin sounds so good. This is just my opinion.
@@neilberry1552 Dude........Ray Luzier is incredibly good. If you cant recognize that, you have no business even looking at drums, let alone playing or discussing drums. Let me guess, your next hot take is that Joey Jordison is god and Jay Weinberg sucks
@@neilberry1552 Its not, in fact, a fact. Its subjective. Joey and Jay are at least equally on par, considering Jay plays Joey's parts as well as Joey ever did, some times even better. Go watch Ray Luzier play Got the Life live. Its clearly better and far more creative. David Silveria had good parts. Ray Luzier also has good parts. Both are good but one is currently playing with Korn and has played with basically everyone relevant in Rock, like David Lee Roth, Stone Temple Pilots, among others. The other is not really doing anything relevant....perhaps go learn about what modern drummers are doing these days. You know John Bonham and Neil Peart are dead right?
@@ricardoconqueso couldn't give a shit if Bonham and pearth are dead because I hate zeppelin and rush. It is fact David had his own sound for korn Ray came in as a hired drummer and played a metal style which korn never had. This song is always nostalgic to me. Just my older brother blasting this song, among and other foundational metal bands, over our family stereo. Good memories. Great cover man.
Fun fact i went to jr high in Bakersfield with David Silverias brother. And i remember him telling me about his brother being in some band named Korn. And in computer class i remember trying to look up the Korn website on something called the internet and it took forever to load. The year was 1995, seems like it was only yesterday. Those were the good old days
David Silveria drumming is what made Korns traditional sound. His grooves are unmatched. Great cover
Yea I was just thinkin that while watching this
Agreed. It's my opinion that their music has been terrible since he left.
@@daelon86 agreed
@@daelon86 Yeah its all kinda melodic and overproduced now.
They absolutely had that “edgy” sound with David. Dude was a huge influence for me
anyone else continuously rewinding the video to the beginning just to hear that snare? it sounds so good!
This is by far the best got the life drum cover I've seen! I love your energy when you're playing! So smooth!
Yes, he stuck with the style David Silveria composed it, as opposed to others. Amazing execution.
I agree. Especially the part I can’t explain, but its there. Its sexy. The party that goes up to down, down to up. Sorry I’m a violinist and bassist😂
He absolutely rocked it! El Estapario also nailed it, well worth a look if you haven’t seen it already.
Your toms sound AMAZING, and that snare sounds like a cannon!!! Great performance, keep it up brother!!!
Awesome job. Silveria's groove is insane.
Always loved David's grooves, he was the best drummer for Korn. Excellent job, brother!
David was great, but Ray is on another level, more musical, more creative.
@@oysterhead5150haha nah. David started a movement. Ray is just a fill in
@@DSKTBH Lol, he's more then just a fill in, he's very gifted drummer, and has taken Korn further then David ever has.

your drums are sounding just gorgeous - really, really great tone, tuning and playing - noticeably so. Great work, as usual.
He uses soundpacks and mixes everything. None of it is natural sounds. It is all mixed and produced.
They sound terrible 😂
So show us your superior
drumming sounds buddy..
@@bowser8375 for real?
i thought he sold soundpacks from his drum sound for Electric Drum preset
This kit is tuned to absolute perfection.

Bro, those sections with the added tom hits are just epic.. No disrespect to other got the life covers, but yours is the GOAT!!

Ive seen alot of Korn songs on drums during David Silveras era and this has been the best one ever. I would love to see you do Divine and Need To.
The drums are what initially drew me to this song. Such a bomb track.
