- ‘Extra’s’ Special Correspondent Carlos Greer caught up with Denzel Washington on the NYC red carpet at the ‘A Journal for Jordan’ premiere where he talked about directing the film, about a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal for his infant son back home. Mid-conversation, star Michael B. Jordan crashed the interview! Michael even shared the wisdom he picked up from Denzel, which he’ll take into his own directorial debut for ‘Creed 3.’ ‘A Journal for Jordan’ is out December 25.

Denzel and Michael dropping gems up in that mug..."Universal stems from the Specific"...and the interviewer, who probably wasn't even listening because he can't wait to ask another question, never even followed up for either actor to expound on that thought. That was a missed opportunity because he wasn't listening. Oprah would've never missed that follow up. Denzel even prompted him and asked "Do you know what he just said"? 1:33

a lot of moments got serious and the interview did a good job going with the flow and easing the tension so that Denzel wouldn't feel on the spot during those uncomfortable moments

I really loved this interview. The interviewer did an excellent job of bringing out the finer qualities of Denzel. Denzel and I are from the same hometown (Mt. Vernon, New York), so he makes me feel proud of where I come from, and he has never forgotten where he came from, always helping out the Boys and Girls Clubs.

A few things... Denzel seems like he has the purest heart and most sincere nature. He is the definition of pay-it-forward. Also, when asked about directing Michael, he said he didn't have to. The look and smile on Michael's face was that of humility. I love seeing us shine!
He seems like he's so wise. You can tell he doesn't suppress a lot of things or toss everything aside. It's like listening to a modern David of the Bible examine his thoughts, experiences, and tribulations in Psalms.
There was so much more to this interview than Michael B Jordan crashing. He was nice coming in. Denzel shared things I didn't know.

My mom at 96 immune system is so strong that when was diagnose with Covid she beat it

I just love Denzel Washington. In my country he is a true hero and we love his movies. I honestly watched all his movies. I don't know him, only in movies but think he is humble and compassionate. Even welcoming Omari Hardwick into his home to live with him and his family when Omari was living out of his car (a story Omari himself told). And out of everything he's done for people, he never brags about it, it's always the ones he's helped (Chadwick Boseman getting his tuition paid by Denzel for instance) that makes it known. His humbleness astounds me. Seems to be such an incredibly amazing man. So positive and inspirational, motivational, humble, funny, extremely intelligent and don't get me started on the talent this man encompasses. Mr. Washington seems to be a great man with an amazing soul and he's funny and uplifting even at the time of talking about his beloved mother. Such an inspiration, talented actor and director.
