If you're an English speaker, speak English, not a made up language. You can't say "I like that you come to work on time". You must say "I like IT that you come to work on time".
The reason you Americans have mistakenly adopted this bogan speak, is that you reason that a "that ... " clause can act as an object of "like" because it seems to act as an object of "know" in "I know that you come to work on time".
But in the latter it actually isn't acting as a direct object, but as an object that is cognate with "know", so that the "that ... " clause essentially expresses what is part and parcel of the knowing (it expresses what is internal to the knowing).
So "I know that you come to work on time" is not the same semantic structure as "I like that you come to work on time" and therefore you have to say "I like IT that you come to work on time".
Otherwise you sound like you're linguistically challenged, or that you're a foreign speaker of English.

He didn't say anything good or bad about Obama, dodged the question mostly about whether race relations improved, stayed the same or got worse (pro-tip, they have gotten much worse), and he just said people have the right to protest which is neither a condemnation nor support for BLM.

That wasn’t intelligence at all.
The interviewer said .
“How do you think race relations have come along in the last 8 years ?”
His answer which totally does not have anything to do with the question was “look. Race relations are you the white guy and me the black guy talking because the president can’t make us get along .”
The interviewer merely asked how race relations have come along since having the milestone of having a black president . Denzel didn’t answer the question.
Next the interviewer realizes Denzel is trying to be a little defensive or not giving him the answer which satisfies the question. At this junction in time the interviewer plainly asks in light of the protests happening and organizations like Black Lives Matter , are they making race relations as a whole better or worse and what his purview is.
Denzel again avoids a substantive answer and Goes on a tirade about how protest is a valid right in america for citizens to observe and provides zero insight into either of the questions he is asked , while posturing to seem wise and smart.
Nothing he said was wise or smart and he was evasive .
If what he just said strikes you as intelligent and profound , imagine what would happen if you met an actual smart person

So although you technically have the freedom to protest, by exercising that freedom you also destroy the social fabric of harmonious race relationships. I got to meet Denzel Washington and have lunch with him when he filmed (and directed) Antwone Fisher. Some of the movie was filmed at the Naval Air Station North Island. I was standing behind him, watching the movie being made. He turned to me and asked me if I could help him. I was in uniform and he wanted me to walk in the background in the scene he was filming. I was happy to oblige. After a number of takes, they went to lunch and he invited me and one of my dog handlers to eat with him at the catering trucks. He is a very kind man, and the memory I took from the meeting... as strange as this may sound... when we shook hands I noticed his hands were very soft.
