This channel will be massive, nobody else talks about Australian heroes on RUclips.....respect from England! Our cousins from down deserve global recognition for their bravery and loyalty to the British Empire. The Ausie SAS should be recognised too, make Xi jing ping think twice!
it should be big already with the quality but its a government channel and so i doubt they will be big because they dont seem to be making good thumbnails and such yet or good titles too so who knows lets hope they change it up at some point
Videos like this make me feel so relieved to have the privilege of never having to go through this. The battle of Lone Pine, going over those logs while listening to people scream and fight for their lives below you, all while being shot at. I couldn't even begin to imagine the terror
What a rock show of a campaign, showing that the tenacity and bravery of the small unit fighter can’t always compensate for operational inexperience and misjudgement, though the Turkish defence in those first days was indeed exemplary. Thank you for another fantastic description of a complex campaign.
My great grandfather Thomas Joseph canny was a lighthorseman at Beersheba and Gallipoli in the first world war and he was a lance corporal on famous charge of Beersheba in first world war 31st ocober 1917 he served with 9th Australian light horse regiment in the first world war
The first operations overseas were actually in German New Guinea on September 11th 1914. Was a much smaller operation and mostly successful. There is a book with a lot of photos I got an e-book version of online.
Gallipoli was not a failure of soldiering, it was a failure of leadership. Churchill's whole plan was a disaster from the start. The failure to support and hold the third ridge was inexcusable. I think the greatest plaudits must go to Mustafa Kamal and the Turkish defenders and the allied infantry soldiers, who were hog-tied by their inept and initiative lacking leaders. I would like to see, if possible a video on the battles of Support Base Coral/Balmoral in the Vietnam War. Also Australians in the Boer War. Thanks again for the video.

That's probably because it's government funded/created.

if only they had been able to evacuate when first requested... fun that it was only possible when it wasnt the people on the grounds idea...
I wish map scales were provided to give some perspective.
in hindsight, did ewen make the right call to stop at second ridge ?
