Girl I know the feeling but don't let it get to you. This is not the end but you will have to be patient. Becoming a doctor is a process and trus, ive learnt (I really leanrrrt) it the hard way. At the end of the day, those who want it will get it but everyone wiil take a different path to get therexxx
Damn I am 25 starting uni again after leaving 4 years ago. It is so reassuring to read that I am not alone. Wish all you guys all the best we are going to kill it

Hey Funki. I’m 24years old and just completed my foundation year. I’m about to go into year one also this October. Good luck to us all and may God guide us. 🤍
makes me feel so much better, thank you for sharing and I hope everything works out well for you!
I started uni again 3 times and I’m finally going into my 3rd year in September. Trust the process and good luck 💜
I actually rate you so much for posting this, it actually takes courage to start something all over again. It’s not the same but I remember when I had to take my GCSE Maths 4 times I even ended up doing the new spec, just so I could get into Nursing I really wanted to give up, I should’ve graduated this year but I ended up passing finally and I’ll be in my last year next year!! If there is one thing I’ve learnt education is not a race, you’ll get there 💕💕💕
Can you get into uni without maths but obviously do it when your there while doing ur course in uni xx
Sasha Hermes not on some courses or done unis. Because incase u fail it
Sasha Hermes It honestly depends on the degree you do e.g. Art I doubt you’ll need your maths for that but medical degrees you need it.
Milano Kay thank you so much
I failed it however I have met the other requirements so rn I don’t know what to do
I’m not sure what I admire more .... your transparency or your ability to put on hair and makeup in this weather just to produce content 🥺😭
Hahahaha it was a struggleeeee!!! But thank you 😭❤️
@@funketijani1749 where did you get your wig from? 😭

Congrats doll! We need more Black Medics especially in maternity 🙏🏾
I’m in the same boat. I’m 24 going back to university on a different career path.
Also congratulations 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 God has a plan for you
Im in the same boat as you, I’m going into nursing! Congratulations to you also! 👏🏾
Nessa A thank you so much 😊 Good luck to you as well
Aha sameee
How does student finance work when it comes to going back to uni do they still fund you ?
Thank you so much for your honesty. It definitely put things into perspective for me. I had a kid half-way through uni, when I finished I struggled to find a job (still struggling, lol). I decided to go back and do my Masters in Aerospace, whilst being a single parent and starting businesses (who sent me?!). What you said about doing Midwifery because it's what your passionate about, revealed something within me. I have been busy creating businesses (and to others achieving amazing things), but to me, the greatest achievement would be getting a job in engineering. You've given me the drive/push to keep applying, thank you. Trusting God with you for your success.
So inspirational well done girl. I’m going to university for the first time at 26. So you are fine. Don’t ever give up on your dreams 💕
Awwww!!! Wishing you alll the best ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Girl, I was disappointed aswell when I messed my grades to go onto a Social Work degree. Doing a foundation course this year. The most important thing is to start! You are resilient because most people would be like ‘sod it’. Well done 👍🏾
I honestly needed this video and I applaud you 🙌🏽✨ I pray for nothing but excellence and more blessings onto your life 🙏🏽
Congratulations Funke💕 you deserve it and I know you’re going to do great things!
I’m happy you posted this ,gave me motivation 😭🙏🏾🙏🏾
Congrats gurl! Your life is only yours to live and everybody can only go at their own pace. Thank you for being vulnerable and open and I can't wait to see you continue to grow and thrive! ❤️
Thank you for sharing this and being so transparent! You have a great calming voice btw!
Funke I know you’ll be successful. So proud of you for sharing this story.
Girrrl you is inspirational!! I see no failure here. You fell then you got up again and you've been making videos and smiling this whole time. Im happy for you and im glad the setback didn't change youxxx
Funke seems so down to earth and so sweet can’t wait for more videos babe 🥰

She’s so stunning 😍 May you succeed and achieve your desired results this time round and may no evil eye touch you sis! Stay blessed. God got a plan for you, this video has made me realised that just cos you fail once or twice does not mean you should give up. The ambition and determination you have will always be more powerful than any setback ❤️

We are so proud of you ! You go girl! May God bless you sis I’m also doing a year again but we cannot complain about Gods timing because his plan is great 😀 keep sharing and good luck 🥰
Thank you so much!!! And best of luck to you! You’ve got this!! ❤️ God bless you!!
I didn’t know I need this!! Thank you for sharing this
Pumped for you! This is the attitude that everyone needs! these things happen and its not how you fall but how you get up and keep going. Best of luck with your degree!!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Congrats hun, all the best with this part of your journey x
So proud of you! Congratulations 🥳 🥳🥳🥳
The motivating bit of this video was so much needed for me since I am going back to law school too to my masters in laws :) Thanks and you are amazing
I can so relate, it's never easy. You'll surely come out with the best grades ever.
Needed this video ! Doing the same thing felt sodown about it but next steps will be great!! We can do it !!
God’s will will always come to pass. Praying for the best for you sis x
I'm new to your channel and you already seem like such a great person , wishing all the best in your midwifery journey and can't wait for more of your content and btw your skin is glowing girl 🥰🔥
Rebecca Chol awwwww thank you so much!! I appreciate you!!!
Wow you’re so beautiful😍 but I loved this video. Thank you for this motivation. I feel like this year has really been a set back for almost everyone. I need AAB to get into my uni and I got BCC but if I sat exams I KNOW I would have got it :( so I’m taking them in 2021. But there’s so much to do to sort it all out, like I don’t know where to start. This video has really encouraged me to get through it though, thank you babe!! X
It’s overwhelming but you’ll get there trust me! Hang in there, wishing you all the best & remember everything happens the way it’s supposed to ❤️❤️
I love your honesty! You go girl 👌🏽
Yess, good luck we are proud of you 🥳
🤎🤎 loved this video. Life really does get in the way but as long as you have tunnel vision and you strive daily towards your goals you’ll make it in the end. And that’s in everything.
Xx
If you’re reading this KEEP GOING!
Congrats ! This video is very refreshing !
I was scared I’d be the old one at uni aha especially in halls (24yrs ) but yes going back as well
It’s really not that big of a deal. I went uni when I was 21 and stayed on campus. Graduated at 24 and remember having a 60 yr old in my lectures. Just focus and achieve your goal! 👍🏾
I started uni at 24.
I have completed 2 years so now I have 2 more years to go! I’m 26 now and honestly I cant believe how quick the time has gone. You will never be the old one, trust me there’s always someone older. You will be fine! Age does not matter anyway💪🏽
That’s less likely. All ages attend uni know. You will definitely not be an ‘oldie’ ❤️
Same girl, everyone else look so young to me lol, no nature students this year either so I AM the mature student😂😭
you’re really my inspiration ❤️ I’m on a upcoming chapter in my life ( starting college soon ) and I know I’m no where near where you’re at, but I want to become a midwife too🤍. God is with us🙏🏾
happy for you 👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you for motivating me !!❤️
&& Good luck!!
I love this!!!
You are so beautiful 😍
Your smile is honestly the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen.
🥺❤️ thank you
Funke Tijani You’re welcome💗
I had a similar experience during my second year too! Went through the appeals process etc considered starting again.. but got there In the end! You will too! Have to come out and say that you “failed” is hard especially on a public platform! Congratulations and all the best x
Congratulations, good luck on your next path of life 🎉
omg wow I've been following you since last year and honestly this is so motivating for me you have no idea. I'm doing my last year of A levels and I'm soon 20 (we graduate at 19 where I live). things kind of got in the way but I'm thinking of taking the midwifery path and I've been here thinking to myself "omg people my age r doing this and that." "I'd have been in uni by now" all these things so thank you for sharing your story! means a lot
I feel the same I am going to back to my sixth form for another third year and I can’t stop comparing myself to others my age. It’s really hard but I keep reminding myself this is my journey❤️
L.Surai126 Good luck! There is no shortcut in education! Everything happens for a reason 💞
Same I'm starting Uni at 20 aswell but I'm doing Biomedical science. I had to get over the age ting quick.
You will do big things 🙏🏾🙌🏾
You should be really proud of yourself. Just wondering if you’re using student finance and how that’s possible since I think I might be in a similar position soon. Keep sharing your story, it’s inspiring for ppl like me.
I’m in final year nursing, started at 18 now I’m 21 nearly finished, this profession is rewarding, but consider that the work experience side of this practice takes up so much time, hope you will still have time for RUclips ❤️
Wow I’m gonna be doing adult nursing. Starting next month by the grace of God🙏🏾 You got any tips for me?
The things I wish someone would have told me before starting nursing; as a student you do 2300 hours in the three years of UNPAID placements, meaning you work alongside qualified nurses and do a course of 6-7 months per year, doing up to 48 hours per week of unpaid placements.
So unless you have rich parents to support you, you have to find another means of income to support yourself, I had to work on top of this because I was not eligible to student finance.
The next is what I have heard newly qualified nurses, they tell me “after you finish they expect you to just know a lot” you don’t get a lot of help when you’re new, asking too many questions as a newly qualified nurse gives the impression to the team that you lack knowledge and as a result they gossip about you. (Idk if it’s true, but it seems to be the case from the conversations I have gathered from nurses)
And lastly, money. Currently there is this whole issue of nurses trying to appeal to the government to increase the pay, this has been going on for many years, nurses don’t get paid enough money considering the night shifts and 12 hour day shifts they do. If you want to move up the financial ladder you have to continue practice to become a nursing manager or a matron etc. if you feel you want to earn more as a nurse, you most definitely won’t get it working for the NHS, you might need to work in private healthcare or in America/Canada/ Australia (Google the salary, some earn 6 figures per year)
Other than that it is rewarding because you help the sick, you learn new skills and there will ALWAYS be a hospital that needs a nurse, so finding a job after finishing doesn’t take long, some secure jobs before even qualifying.
Hope this was helpful ❤️
(My personal opinion) Sometimes I wish I picked physiotherapy because the hours aren’t long and stressful and they earn more than nurses.
I wish you the best of luck when you start ❤️
RoyaltySarah thank you ❤️
Thank you,❤
The government now offer a non-repayable bursary for nursing courses (and other courses of a similar nature. To help with finances xx
I Went through similar things with my course, you will get through it🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I’m so happy seeing this video . I’ve been depressed for a long time . I graduated nursing this year and now I don’t know if I want to work in that field . I don’t know my passion and I was thinking of going back to uni to start again ? What was you doing during that time because explaining this to my dad is so hard and ive been depressed by it
Mercy Fawole sis it’s so much stress , I’m literally giving myself a year to get my finances together using nursing then after that bounce and do something else with my life
All the best ❤️❤️❤️
It’s all Gods timing, all the best❤️❤️❤️
Looking forward to the vlogsss
CONGRATULATIONS!🎉
My story is also quite similar...... now I’m starting over again in midwifery..... congrats to u girl 🎉🎉 coz I totally understand
You got it girl!!
nice to know there's more of us.
OMGG I’m literally in the exact same boat with Social Work rn, dw sis you got this
Hey i was just wondering can't you get transferable credits since you've did two years? Or is it more complicated? Completely agree with you your goals are personal and you can do anything you want to, it's your journey . Wishing you all the best with your course.
You are never to old to learn 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Congratsssss Funkeee🎊🎊🎉🎉
Congratulations girl 🥳 I’m thinking of going back to uni and do completely new career in nursing but I’m 24 now and I just feel like time is against me
Gurlllllll!!!! There is absolutely no age for uni. Education is for alllll! Whether you’re 24 or 42! Go for it 😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Funke Tijani you’re right! I’ll defo go for it 🙏🏾
Wether you do it or not you’ll be 27 in three years babe.....
Don’t be discouraged, you’re never too old to start nursing. I’m 20 in third year and there’s people from all ages, even people in their 40s in my cohort. It’s never too late! Good luck💕
Rose Asafoah that’s true! Thankfully it’s only going to be two years
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations 🎉
Congrats 🎊 wishing you all the best. The only way it's to be discipline. I am on my 1st year of adult nursing. However, I would like to work as a obstetric theatres nurse or nursing care postnatal. However, in the UK its just weird not to many nurses work at the maternity unit. Do you also work with nurses? Or is just midwives.
well done sis
How did you manage to get student finance all over again. My best friend couldn’t continue uni because she was almost in the same situation as you but student finance refused to finance the 2 years she had already done, only way was to continue or repeat just the one year she failed which they called a grace year or something like that
💛💛💛
I'm happy you going back, cause you definitely needed in the health care system regarding black women birth rates. I wish you all the best on your studies, don't give up you can do this❤️💕
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
What was the module called that u failed?
I was accepted to medicine so interesting to see people in the medical field. I want to get into surgery as man grandad was a surgeon in Korea but died last year.
Sorry for your loss. I hope you do well
You will finish well 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙏🏿😍
What about student finance did they help
Hey, how did the funding work regarding SFE? Or are you funding it yourself 💕
Kay Mloyi from what I know SFE funds you up to 4 years! So she’ll get enough for at least first and second year
She may also get what they call a gift year. so you actually get five years worth of funding. So she’ll only pay for one year. This only affects your tuition fees. You’ll still be eligible for maintenance loan and grants
I had to transfer uni's after failing second year, did your new uni not allow you to transfer first year credits?
I tried in 2019, but Due to the type of course, not many uni’s allowed transfers. It was a huge struggle so the only option left was to start over
I'm in a situation like you at the moment, how did you manage to transfer uni's after everything, credits and if it's possible to carry on from second year or having to start from first year all over again?
@@funketijani1749 ahh fair, all the best with your new journey
@@its_atiyyah_actually the best option is to call or even better visit the admissions team in whichever department you're looking to do the course in, bring your first year transcripts or send them over. If they say you need to start over plead with them or ask them if you can demonstrate that you're comfortable and familiar with their own first year material
Good luck!
Please do a makeup tutorial
You look so much like Aya Nakamura 😍
Big respect! May God strengthen you through your journey and your testimony will be great x422456566454553
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
