A Decent Person knows when things are not Just and Fair .
But especially when you try to change these anomalies.

I was about 16 at the time and remember Ivan Cooper , Finbar ,Eddie McAteer in Duke Street that day when we were all brutally beaten off the streets by thugs in RUC uniforms.
John Hume was one of our teachers at St Columb’s college and there were so many strategy discussions going on in his classroom which was #10 that we called it Downing Street at the time . All of these men were fearless civil rights activists who denounced violence in the pursuit of equality and civil rights for all citizens, only a sick dysfunctional, gerrymandered , sectarian state like Northern Ireland was then would see these visionaries as threats , if the Unionists had listened to them and worked with them the Troubles would have been avoided, it would be fitting to see a monument in Derry in appreciation of Ivan Cooper and the Civil Rights Association.

    Old school pure Irish
    These types warm my heart
It’s time to integrate all schools and let the youth be youth
And let the brain washed fade out

It's a pity that both sides of the political spectrum don't see it that way. I'm a firm believer in children learning together, playing together and sometimes having the odd scrap as a good thing. Where you hang your hat on a Sunday shouldn't matter, but what you do on a Monday should.
