  • Metal Detecting with The Nokta Impact at a Local park in VLX2..Nothing all that great as far as finds in this video but i got some good up close video of The Impact..My gopro doesn't mount as well to the impact like it does on The Simplex...So i haven't been out that much with this machine...Still learning this machine and this video was just a first run in VLX2 for my own reference...

      Ya that was an old baseball field..The soil there is nice and sofr..I use the wilcox 202s 14 x 3 inch trowel..Best hand digger in my opinion heres a link..wilcoxallpro.com/products/grab-bag-202s

      @@WeirdGuyInPark You make that trowel look like a surgical blade how easy you can push it into the soil.. I have to get up and OVER the plug when im cutting through THATCHY grass and my chest mount for my camera always goes outta shot.. Your system "That I copied" will remedy this making my plug cutting less stressful. Camera will now be aimed properly, and I can cut freely now.. Thanks brother for that Video you made for "Common Guy" - Joey

      Ya i love that wilcox trowel it's like a surgeons tool..I tried the head mount and the chest mount and didn't like it...I had the same problem you mentioned with the chest mount going out of veiw when you bend over...The selfie stick method is the best iv'e tried so far...If you get any scratchy noises in your video from your arm hitting the gopro you can wrap some foam around the selfie stick before you zip tie it to the arm cuff.That helps deaden the sound better...

    Is the NM Impact a noisy detector? picking up EMI and making a bunch of sounds? Is it worth the money in your opinion? What are the Cons if any that you feel are issues to be aware of? Thanks -Joey

      It's not as noisy as the simplex...The VLX modes are the quietest modes.I may make a video on this topic because i been getting alot of questions about this lately..I picked it up used but i think you can get a new standard pack Impact for under $500 if you have a private dealer that excepts cash..Id say yes it was worth getting this machine...I had no idea that it was gonna perform better than the simplex but it does.The Impact is the deepest machine iv'e ever used and and it has the best target seperation iv'e ever used..Even better than the simplex..I can't comment on the equinox because iv'e only used one for 20 minutes..The impact has a trigger on it too making the pinpointing excellent..If the Legend performs like The Impact and Feels like The Simplex that would be great...The only cons to me is that it's a big lunky feeling detector...The coil is to light on it and it causes me to forse the coil to the ground..After a while that wears on my wrist and arm...I prefer a detector that has a heaveir coil...It eats up the batterys pretty fast but i use rechargeables so that not really an issue..Right now if i want to hunt fast and cherry pick i use The Simplex...If i want to hunt slower for deeper coins i use the impact..

      @@WeirdGuyInPark Sweet, details.. I really needed to know these things and YES please make a VIDEO... PLEASE! I am close to pulling the trigger on a used model from ebay for $425 but i needed to know the 1. Balance and weight 2. inner cable (cant collapse it) 3. EMI chatter ( Oh and I made a RUclips Short based on YOUR Camera mount set-up and gave you a shout out because I copied the idea from you - Thank you Big bro - Joey

      I know to much disc on some detectors affect depth a little to a lot,some others not so much. Does it effect the Impact just a tad or alot. Some sites I have I have to run on quite a bit of disc to control the EMI, but I'm not loosing very much at all when I take my Eurotek up to 56 on disk.

      The impact is deeper and can be tweaked more...The pinpointing is awesome too..The simplex signals jump out at you better and the ergonomics are way better on the simplex..I don't like how the impact is balanced at all and the battery life is terrible..I would say the impact is more capable with all it;s options but if i had to only pick one it would be The Simplex..

    Hi there.great video..ive been searching in deep mode over here in UK but I want to give vlx2 a whirl, what was the rest of yr settings ie, disc/tone break/audio tone/notch/ and frequency and gain.. in deep its very chatty but I have everything maxed out plus using the 15inch coil makes it very very chirpy. Be nice to try your settings. Cheers.

    • @WeirdGuyInPark
      @WeirdGuyInPark  2 года назад +1

      I keep VLX2 at factory defaults except the gain is at 85..If your out in a large field over there in the uk you could probably up the gain into the 90s..Just depends on how much chatter you can tolereate.. Good luck Stevie..

      @@WeirdGuyInPark cheers for the info..yes I can stand abit of chatter.. I been using ctx for 5 years and fancied a change and the impact was my weapon of choice,found a few hammered on my local permission and many milled silver so it certainly does the trick in deep mode but was very very chirpy and I was sure I was missing alot of targets.so going to try yr settings and see how I get on...ill report back in the next few days to let you know what I think...thanks again..gl&hh

Yes some lovely gold and silver hammered coins to be found, I tried vlx2 two days ago.had 3 roman bronze and a few victorian pennies,it certainly is alot quieter than in deep mode.i found it to be very stable and recovery speed alot better than in deep mode..
