I once watched a mate take off a car mirror with his hand. But at least in that incidence, the driver had deliberately squeezed him when he was halfway past. This one was just an angry knob on a bike.
@AnotherDoug this kid was obviously trying to beat the truck to the roundabout and come out ahead of it but underestimated the distance remaining and speed of the truck. The truck was obviously hoping to glide through the roundabout using both lanes of it while speeding and continue straight through. That plan went out then window when the young fella sped up on his inside and took that second lane. I guess avoiding this situation comes with experience and maturity. I wasn't blaming anyone, merely making an observation. Here's another observation; they were both driving like dickheads
@@sunnyvale104 Yeah, truckie should've slowed down to a reasonable speed to tackle the roundabout, optionally claiming both lanes on approach. That road has a ton of accidents cause there is a long winding hill down to reach the point that car skidded out. The side barrier pictured is often wrecked and have seen cars fully flip in that spot. Its kind of an S bend curve and in the wet cars lose it all the time as they often hit that point at 80 - 100km an hour.

The irony is the people who do that are likely going nowhere. In life and on that drive. In an absolute rush and putting others in real danger to get home and sit on the couch.
@@spookytadpole I'm sure that for some of them it was just a dumb mistake. They don't understand how fast the oncoming traffic comes at them. Hopefully they learn their lesson. (No, I have never done that myself.)

Yea I thought the same thing. It was obvious the truck was planning on using the whole road at the roundabout, but had to change once he realised the guy was flying up the inside of him. He's dam lucky that driver didn't just ignore him and flatten his car.
Not "go up the inside". DC vehicle was entitled to use the right hand lane and the truck driver entered the roundabout too fast and then attempted to change lanes without giving way.
The mud carter at 1.20 was definitely planning to cut the corner, once he realised there was a car there he had to stay in his lane which obviously was going way to fast for 😂

@@blowninjectedfalcon You're right, but the roundabout has two lanes on it for a reason... if the truckie had planned to use his lane properly, he would have slowed down enough to not lose his load regardless of what the cam car did. When they didn't shut it off, I thought they were going for the double tap!
Love the last clip. He's learnt his lesson and didn't even damage the bike
The best part for me is the driver of the car hops out and lends a hand, and is totally cool and calm. This is by far the best case scenario, the biker learnt his lesson in a good way, didn't get his bike damaged, and everyone was calm and collected. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and restores my faith in humanity
I don’t think either is at fault, hard to see around the bend, neither were speeding just cruising, 2 good blokes having a laugh about it
@@Flipppeewell the other bike got through.
@dankadam definitely the bike at fault. Too fast around a blind corner on the wrong side of the road. I see so many cowboys on single lane 4wd tracks who think they’re the only people in the world.
@@JohnSmith-jh1iy wrong side of the road? Its only big enough for one car, looks like he’s going the same speed as the car and he swerved because he panicked

did you miss the part where he smashed off the Subie mirror in his rage? I was hoping the Subie wiped him off the road later; I would have been smiling for days if I'd seen that happen..
@@petesmitt didnt miss it, would have made my week if that happened though
I once watched a mate take off a car mirror with his hand. But at least in that incidence, the driver had deliberately squeezed him when he was halfway past. This one was just an angry knob on a bike.

7:55....that section of Carlingford is shocking at the best of times but that was next level.
The number of high speed head-on near misses in these compilations is terrifying.
Nice of the truck at 7:58 to use his indicator. I feel it made all the difference.
5:38 finally - someone that knows how to indicate properly
There's some seriously fortunate bastards out there.
1:13 you've got a death wish speeding up the inside of a truck who is clearly going too fast coming into a round about
You are expecting a P-plater to make a snap assessment of the capabilities of a professional driver. Think you are blaming the wrong person.
Cam owner should learn to drive defensively, not speed up the inside of large vehicles approaching roundabouts - I wouldn't have entered alongside that truck even if it was going a reasonable speed.
4:22 that rider really knows how to apply the front brake!
Yes, never apply gradual increasing pressure just snatch at that lever all at once!
Hahaha it's a bit hard to tell, but the 2 cars in front slammed on their brakes not leaving him much time to think. He's fine though, just salty that the bikes a write off.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe."
Of all the years I have watched these compilations, this is the craziest one by far.
1:19 I think the mud truck would have straightlined the roundabout but the camera car looked like it was going to force the lane ownership.
cam car at fault there, mud carter did well to keep it upright
Truck driver was not allowed to "straight-line" it if there is another vehicle legally travelling in the next lane.
@@Ranulfdatank No - it was solely the truck drivers fault. The truck did not actually need to straddle both lanes but if he/she did need to they are supposed to be straddling the lanes well before the intersection to warn others not to pass them. Simply, the truckie was driving way too fast when entering the roundabout.
@@AnotherDoug yeah I watched it again a couple of times closely and you`re right he was goin too quick

Aussie dashcam compilations always hit differently. Even when I see Aussie ones in international compilations.
Also, ror a little while, this was almost a "How Not To Overtake" special...
And the Camry again makes a usual appearance
3:48 “SPECTACULAR” solid 10 for the execution and to the other driver who managed to get out of the way.
love the aussie accent SPECTACULA
Got out the way but the sound was pretty bad, I am betting there is quite a bit of damage to the innocent car there (sump? Front suspension?)
That road has a ton of accidents cause there is a long winding hill down to reach the point that car skidded out. The side barrier pictured is often wrecked and have seen cars fully flip in that spot. Its kind of an S bend curve and in the wet cars lose it all the time as they often hit that point at 80 - 100km an hour.

what's the bet they have learnt to do that after being almost rear ended a number of times trying to slow to turn into their driveway?
I still don't get it. 🤷♂
@@Ev.FromMars
I think they're backing into their driveway. Dumb way to do it, but as pointed out above, being rear ended by someone expecting you to just hammer it out of the lights would also suck.
I had to look for a/your comment about it to figure out what they were doing. I recognise that downhill bend on Kissing Point Rd, Dundas in Sydney, so the unique manouver makes sense now. You can see the very car in the drive on google maps. I'll be at my dad's house around the corner in a couple of days so I could leave them a note telling them that they've found DOCA fame. Problem is, pulling in their drive looks to be a challenge!
2:15 i first thought this was an hit and run, now that i see the sales tag i think they stole an car from an dealer and the owner is chasing them

0:05 I'd say taking advantage of the lights is a habit for the offending driver as it could be incredibly dangerous to reverse in (or out) of the driveway if there's nothing stopping the cars just after the bend on an arterial road. I certainly wouldn't want to deal with that every day.
Everytime some one says id hate to live on a busy road.

@@John451vfr its not that, its if traffic is going past at 80, they cant stop

in reference to the last clip. unfortunately I've seen the aftermath of the exact same situation on a dirt road as well the guy on the bike was not at all so lucky. never ever overtake/ride next to another on a dirt road on a corner no matter what vehicle you are in. that's certainly a sit and think moment that one
The local 4x4 club has had more than one incident where a moron has crashed head on into the bull bar of a 4x4 (that's stationary), bush jetski's, letting everyone know your IQ.
Think the most shocking things i see continually on these videos is people keeping their foot down while overtaking despite cars coming the other way. Its borderline suicidal behavior. All it take is someone the other way being distracted and people are dead. Beyond selfish.
The irony is the people who do that are likely going nowhere. In life and on that drive. In an absolute rush and putting others in real danger to get home and sit on the couch.
Sometimes braking would be worse, but yes, in general, if you've fucked up your overtake, brake firmly, get back in line and try again later.
@@spookytadpole I'm sure that for some of them it was just a dumb mistake. They don't understand how fast the oncoming traffic comes at them. Hopefully they learn their lesson. (No, I have never done that myself.)
I simply never overtake on these types of roads. I'll wait for an overtaking lane or sometimes the truckie will move to the side a bit for safer passing. I'd rather be late than never. I almost can't watch these clips 😱

1:29 "You're a fuckhead" says the bloke who just tried to go up the inside of a truck-trailer combination at a roundabout.
Glad someone else was thinking the same as me.
Yeah its not illegal but it's dumb as shit. He's lucky the truckie kept on his side and went on two wheels rather than side swiped him.
@@AnotherDoug there's entitled and then there's dead (but entitled).

The mud carter was way too fast but the DC was an idiot to run up the inside of a truck closing in on a roundabout
Do Not Overtake Turning Vehicle. The sign on the back of the truck. This means that at a round about that you should not try to pass the vehicle. Cammer 100% in wrong. Truck was still going too fast, but was not at fault.

@@blowninjectedfalcon You're right, but the roundabout has two lanes on it for a reason... if the truckie had planned to use his lane properly, he would have slowed down enough to not lose his load regardless of what the cam car did.
