Thats a nice simple delivery van. Very nice restoration to a better than factory fresh condition. Sometimes i wish these old models would be modernised with windows and interieur and sold again...
I bet that cats cold someone shaving the poor thing 🤣 nice job Marty looks nice and shiny again can you imagine buying it brand new as a child and the first opening of the box …absolute heaven 👍
I'm watching your channel since the very beginning and I don't regret a single episode . It's definitely one of the best if not the best wee car restoration channel on internet. The commentary is great, funny bits with Kevin and hilarious newspaper details all the time. I love it. It helped me through the pandemic and it helps me nowadays when I need to relax. I used to restore matchbox cars when I was a kid and I do it nowadays on occasion so there is obviously strong connection. Thank you Marty!!!😊😊😊
Still, it remains a childhood memory that I had a lot of fun with the Matchbox cars. The disadvantage of getting older, the young functions of your body decrease. Happy 5th YT anniversary.
Happy five years Marty! It’s safe to say without those early videos of yours I would never have been in a position to start out in this hobby. Your thorough explanation of your processes set me away on a journey I never before thought possible. All the best mate and here’s to many more, cheers!
G'day from Cuxhaven 👋 First the "Trojan" really looked like it had, over years, delivered tons of tea.... 😁 But a little TLC 🛠️🎨🖌️ can work wonders 😉 (And that a resto can take several days, I know only too well 🙄😁) When you have four-legged-mates 🐕🦺🐈 in the house, you always have to expect them to be curious and want to know what "Daddy" is doing.... (I work on models myself and have five sighthounds and two parrots. Now and again there is a nose or a beak "at work" 🤣) Ok, we don't have koalas at the North Sea, but it's still risky to leave the room when there's food on the table.... 😆 (As I said, five sighthounds) But about your work... Excellent, I can't say otherwise 🤩 It's always a pleasure to see a piece of scrap metal turned back into a gem for the display case. 🚗🔎👀👍🏼 What I also like... You're using self constructed tools. Great 😃 (At this point also a shoutout to Paul Restorer in Krakow 👍🏼🇵🇱🤩) Marty, I'm thrilled. Definitely both thumbs up for this 👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🏼 Have a great week to you, Julie and all the team behind the scene and stay safe and sound. Keep up the good work, mate 😉 Greetings from the DCcoB at the lighthouse end of the Elbe River. 😎👍🏼🇦🇺✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🤠 P.S. Shoutout to Australia's most koalafied jokester 👍🏼🐨🇦🇺
Great job Marty! This video was special for me as I have the same model. Mine has been with me from 1961 and in spite of having been played around with, still in reasonable shape. Congratulations on completing five years. Way to go, Marty!
Congratulations Marty on 5 years of restoration videos. The additional paint detailing of the grille and side lights made the simple model much more interesting.
I'm new to the hobby but I do like restoring the older Matchboxes? Nice to not have to worry about the condition of the windscreen/windows and they're mostly beautiful little models.
Always love the headlines of the NT News! I always use kitchen foil as a gasket between the bottle and lid of Tamiya and similar products. Nice little truck Marty
Love the superimposed picture of the real vehicle to compare the toy, please continue to do that. Keep the working hands, it’s a testament to your hard work and efforts. Thanks for the videos.
@MartysMatchboxMakeovers you're very welcome. I've been a fan for roughly 4.5 of those 5 years. Here's to 5 more amazing years of awesome restorations 🍻
Hi, you did a great job. I love these old models without the windows and with metal wheels, I think the have got something special. Let's go up to the next 5 Years. Many greetings from Germany Mark
Small models require a finer mist, not something you often find in large paint cans. This model is perfectly adorable. Not boring at all. Lots of play value, unlike half of the HotWheels from the last 20 years that are freaked out weirdos only good for the track, and sometimes unsuitable for that.
Marty your videos are ace! Never get bored I could watch these on a loop all day they're so relaxing. Need to have a word with Kevin over his choice of Tetley "tea", there's only one tea and that's Yorkshire. Best in t'world. Best wishes from England. Take care mate
I really like your videos, and you did a great job on this one. Being honest, I liked the model better before the refurbish was done. It was shabby, but it was original. But that's just my point of view. You are an expert on working on these, and you are always preserving a piece of history, thanks for this...
Aye, Mate! Tis' a thing of beauty! A thing of beauty from your hands to our eyes.....once again, a masterful job of it. For five years you have entertained and informed what has become a devoted following. Kudos on the milestone, and here's the future.....
WHAT PERFECT TIMING! Walked in my door 10 mins ago, finally was able to sit down with a warm cuppa and some choc chip biscuits and lo and behold its a MMM vid!
#47 was actually may first pick as a Matchbox model, along with #17 light green, the neighbor kid had the (now rare) light blue one!, I think I chose them because I thought they liked more like US vans! Nice job on #47!
The model looks great Marty! With or without the outline on the decals this is a really nice restoration. These early Matchbox cars and trucks were always my favorites. I think it is because of their simplicity that I liked them. Thanks for sharing this.
Congrats on 5 years and all the fun you've shared. Although I stopped collecting Matchbox miniatures in 1970 due to my dislike of 'stupidfast', watching your excellent show brings it all back with lovely memories. I do hope you reach your goal of one of each since 1953 and do mention the composition of each model has always been a Zinc alloy with no lead at all, even the paint. Best wishes to you always. Tom from Rochester, Minnesota, USA.
KEEEEEVIN! Happy 5th! I've enjoyed every one. Thanks Marty.

Wow, that really is such a pretty van for, as you say, such simplicity! Thanks for doing it!
Great makeover Marty, happy 5th for the chanel. In the UK I think we call the locking pliers Mole Grips.

At 1:52 - "some of Kevin's friends are coming" Oh boy....Great job on the tea truck, looks fabulous. Cheers!
I enjoyed this one, Marty! This isn't a model that I currently have in my collection, but I need to find one! Happy Anniversary!
I'm glad to see quality control has resumed - well done young Marty!👍😉
The early Matchbox models are still the most rewarding in a makeover, with a bit of Tamiya paint and a silver Sharpie.
Congratulations on 5 years! The detail on these models always amazes me.
Hi Marty! A smart makeover indeed.
Came out excellent. Good job as always Marty
Good afternoon to you. It is always a treat to see you showing another makeover!! Kevin is enjoying his tea!! ❤
One of your better headlines there.
Beautiful job as always.
