Some information I found about the E.P. Ripley train: Named after Edward Payson Ripley, the fourth president of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway, this steam locomotive was one of two original locomotives built for Disneyland and began operation with the park opening July 17th, 1955. This was Walt Disney's favorite locomotive and sometimes he operated No. 2 around the park, pulling hundreds of passengers unaware that the park's creator was driving the train. Today, the E.P Ripley is one of 5 steam locomotives operating on the Disneyland Railroad.
