    To the people saying this isn't worth it because it doesn't "fully cleanse":
    As with makeup wipes, this is basically considered a pre-cleanse. Obviously you should be washing your face with a regular cleanser after removing your makeup with any kind of wipe. Makeup wipes are just designed to remove the greasy layer of makeup from the surface so it makes your cleanser work more effectively.

      Ayseisabumm The people that are saying it is pricey are going to end up spending more money by repeatedly buying make up remover wipes versus just having to buy this once, hello do the math!

    when removing your eye makeup it is recommended to hold the makeup eraser 3-5 seconds on your eye and then start doing the circular motions
    also the short fiber side is for makeup removal and the longer fiber side (side with the tag) is for exfoliation to remove any excess makeup that might have been left over from the first side

    Some people are saying it's just a microfiber cloth. You should totally do a dupe test with that!

      i actually prefer the arm and hammer microfibre cloth it works so well

  • @Bestarstruck
    @Bestarstruck 8 лет назад +9

    Tati, it's the type of fiber that does the trick. It a superfine synthetic material that grabs hold of dirt extremely well, when a cloth rag would just push it around. It has an incredibly high absorption ability due to the teeny tiny fiber, and that helps it to slide the makeup off and suck it up into the towel :)

    It would be good if they made it cheaper and smaller with 5 - 7 in a pack so you use one and throw it in the laundry basket after one use. So big and impractical in size... just b/c I don't like having anything dingy like that around for next day's use. I don't think I would purchase... Thanks for the review though!!

      E Song You are so right! It would be nice if that was cut in thirds and sold that way. I think the concept behind the shape was so that you could use both hands at once but if used like Tati did you wouldn't need something that large. And like you said if you had a pack of three, you could periodically have one in the dirty bin/wash, and two to keep using.

      Vanessa B Do you have this one that Tati reviewed to compare ? I don't use this to remove mascara but it does fine removing makeup from my face. I do think they require more rubbing or pressure than a cleansing oil or other makeup remover but I find it to be effective for my needs and skin.

      Marla Robinson That's my concern as well. While the cloth itself looks soft enough the action of rubbing the face -- especially the eyes -- looks so rough. I'll stick to my cleansing oil but I can see this being useful in rare situations

    Tati - your first impressions videos are, by far, my favorites. I bought one recently and it works. I tested it using an astringent and cotton pad as well. • @kellyturnerphotography

      Does the coconut oil cause your skin to break out? I've heard some people swear by it then I've heard some say that it will clog your pores and cause breakouts.

      Coconut oil has a very comedogenic rating. I am a huge fan of the oil cleansing method, check out jojoba oil, hemp,argan oil, emu oil or rose hip .. All which have a low comedogenic rating :-)

      Yes, natural oils in general are the best for your skin. Costal Scents sells almond, grapeseed, etc oils for reasonable prices. Coconut oil is good on my skin, but as someone else stated it just depends.

    If this towel lasts 1,000 washes thats about 3 years IFFFF you wash it evryday! LIKE WTH THATS AMAZING theres no way one pack of wipes will last 3 years and plus its not like your gonna wash it everyday so it would last way longer than 3 years. Someone in one of these comments mentioned that if you wash it 2 times a week it'll last 9 years LIKE FOR ONLY $20 THATS AMAZING! This towel, if it works for you, is SOOO worth it!

      Dessa Bailey actually it isn't microfiber! It is 100% Polyester! And you can use fabric softer, liquid or the sheets!! ❤❤

  • @RamonaQ
    @RamonaQ 9 лет назад +131

    There is nothing "in" it, it is simply 100% Polyester "minky" fabric. I have not tried yet, but I am guessing any 100% Polyester minky fabric will work in the exact same way.
    Your water should be warmer than lukewarm, unless they have changed the directions. And for those concerned with the rubbing aspect, the warmer water, and letting it set a minute on your eyeballs, will loosen the goo, and I don't think there's really any more - or more vigorous - rubbing you do with this contraption, than with any other makeup-removing item/technique.
    It works. But I think it's a bit pricey for what it is.

    • @arocks1234567
      @arocks1234567 9 лет назад +1

      Ramona Q it worked way better then my polyester towelettes for me, i dont have to keep buying miceller water so its pretty good for the price

    • @RamonaQ
      @RamonaQ 9 лет назад +11

      noor fatima I don't know what a polyester towelette is. If the way the polyester is made is not the same, it wouldn't work the same, regardless of the content. (ie - long, furry nap)
      The Makeup Eraser absolutely works. It's pretty remarkable, really. I just think the markup is enormous, and for people who cannot afford to throw 20$ at a washrag, going to the fabric store & getting a scrap, or fraction of yardage, of polyester minky fabric may be a good option. Because it *_totally_* works.

    • @arocks1234567
      @arocks1234567 9 лет назад +1

      Ramona Q oh i totally agree, the margins on this thing must be crazyy good, like the beauty blender sponge, but it works beautifully . ill try getting my hands on minky polyester, lastly some people were saying that this was a micro fiber cloth, do u know if micro fibre polyester cloths can be bought at the fabric store

    • @RamonaQ
      @RamonaQ 9 лет назад +8

      noor fatima The Makeup Eraser is *not* microfiber. Not even close. Microfiber is tiny little... something like loops? The Makeup Eraser is furry.
      What you want, if you are going to buy fabric to duplicate this, is something called "Minky". You can view it at online fabric stores: www.fabric.com/SearchResults2.aspx?Source=Header&SearchText=polyester+minky&CategoryID=1d5f47dc-9991-4088-93f3-26a376046a5e
      I feel like I have seen double-sided minky before, where one side was long, and the reverse shorter (just like the Makeup Eraser) but I cannot find it via a search to save my life. Then again, I am 100% search cursed. ( ◡ _ ◡ )

    • @Mjkaddict77
      @Mjkaddict77 8 лет назад +1

      Yes I can never remember which is which side. Also it says to soak the towel and use soaking wet. I think it would have been good for her to read the directions on here cuz most people won't and will use it wrong. There is one side for makeup removal and must be really wet w warm water. If you don't know this you may wind up using it wrong. I have it and I like it but it does seem it's just a towel that has properties like the magic eraser. Something about the fiber that grabs on to product. You will also notice that the makeup will not rinse off the towel. You need to wash it to get the makeup off it.

    Using a dirty cloth on day two and three isn't too appealing to me and washing it every day doesn't seem like an option either. I know I go through a big bunch of washcloths weekly. Think I will stick with my usual routine.

    It's terry cloth, it's extremely absorbent, I have cloth pads (reusable menstrual pads) made of terry cloth and they work amazingly well, about 20 times better than a "'night" version of a disposable pad. They're also extremely soft and cushy+breathable, and they only get better with each wash, so I can imagine that all of these characteristics will make that fabric good for make up removing as well. No chemicals involved, just smart fabrics.

      enjoy your chemical infused disposable pads which hang around in landfills for 500 years and pollute the planet :) meanwhile Im enjoying saving money and trips to the pharmacy every month, plus avoiding infections, irritation and leaks.

      I got mine from LadyCup, a Czech/Swiss brand, they make menstrual cups and reusable diapers (baby) as well. But there are tons of other reusable pads out there, just google it :) ladycup pads seem to be particularly better quality to me (more breathable and absorbent than other brands Ive tried, explains why they cost more)

    • @NikkieAnOrdinaryGirl
      @NikkieAnOrdinaryGirl 9 лет назад +3

      CC .lovesbeauty I am pretty sure it would be hygenic as long as you're using a different section of the cloth for each makeup removal and then washing it when you run out of clean space. Since you're only dampening the section you're using there is no water on the clean parts to breed bacteria etc. So I imagine it would work quite well. Of course like all makeup removing products (wipes etc) you still want to wash your face after with a cleanser. So that would get rid of any extra stuff on your face and in your pores that could cause breakouts.

    I went to there FAQ sheet... thing this what i found about it o.o
    thousand apologies for the wall of text.
    Question What is MakeUp Eraser
    Answer MakeUp Eraser is a blend of polyester silk fibre that with just water removes makeup with ease leaving the skin feeling healthy and clean.
    Question How does the cloth work
    Answer You will notice, there are 2 different sides to this amazing cloth. The combination of the long exfoliation side and the shorter (baby blanket/bathrobe) feeling side that allows you to remove all makeup with just water.
    Question Why can’t I just buy this as a fabric
    Answer The fabric used in our MakeUp Eraser features a very special proprietary blend of fibres. Our cloths are created to do only one thing, and that is to erase makeup. You will not find anything as effective, as natural, as the MakeUp Eraser in shops.
    Question Will it remove waterproof mascara
    Answer Yes. As seen on the box, MakeUp Eraser will remove waterproof mascara. (I show people the box and how it says, “Removes waterproof mascara in just seconds”. This usually reassures customers.)
    Question What if I have sensitive skin and breakout
    Answer If you have sensitive skin, you could most likely be breaking out because of chemicals in the products you are using on your face and what it leaves in your pores. You would be a great candidate and would benefit the most from MakeUp Eraser. You will no longer need to use any expensive chemical product on your face that may cause these breakouts and/or dryness.
    Question Will it dry out my face
    Answer It will not dry out your face since you are just using water. If you are naturally dry, you can always use your moisturiser after removing your makeup. Because you are not using chemicals this should help with your face drying out.
    Question Can I still use my face wash
    Answer You will not need to use your face wash anymore. However, if you like your face wash, you can always remove your makeup and still wash with your product. Several customers are amazed when after washing with soap or chemical, how much the eraser still pulls out of pores. So this is a personal preference.
    Question If I’m going to use face soap still, why do I need this
    Answer The MakeUp Eraser is great to remove your eye makeup alone, it removes eye makeup squeaky clean, you will find yourself no longer tugging at your eyelashes to remove left over mascara. You will no longer see your makeup reappearing over and over after removing it. Also because it is so much softer than a washcloth, you will save on damaging your eyelashes. PLUS!! No more makeup residue, mascara, or stains on your wash cloth or pillowcases. I have several towels, cloths, etc. that have been ruined with makeup. (People/Mothers of Daughters seem to relate to this fact).
    Question Does it remove bacteria
    Answer It does remove bacteria that are left on your face and in your pores because it cleans your face. Most people are shocked after washing with a chemical product and using the Eraser how much makeup their product missed.
    Question Why does it cost that much for a small cloth
    Answer Well what do you currently use for makeup remover£ In particular, eye makeup remover£ If you buy any DISPOSABLE product for this application, you are literally throwing money away. Every time you buy makeup pads, £3.00 - £6.00, or cotton balls, for you and your daughter etc. it is money out of the window. With MakeUp Eraser being reusable it is the most inexpensive makeup remover product on the market. If you buy product, you cant afford not to buy one.
    So the question really is ….how do they make this so inexpensive and save me so much money….£
    Question How do you clean MakeUp Eraser
    Answer MakeUp Eraser is machine washable. Throw them in with your towels or a load of clothes.
    Question Do you have to wash it everyday
    Answer Because the cloth is large enough, you really only need to use a small portion of it each day. I throw mine in when I wash my towels about once a week.
    Question Do all the stains wash out
    Answer Yes, all the stains should wash out. The only time I had stains left in one cloth, I found that I had overloaded my towels and in reality none of them were clean.LOL!
    Question Does washing compromise it’s effectiveness
    Answer No, because it is such high quality, the Eraser holds up in the wash without losing its shape or ability to remove all makeup. Because it is chemical free, there is nothing to alter with washing.
    Question Do the cloths smell
    Answer No, the MakeUp Eraser does not smell other than the detergent you wash with. They smell fresh just like your clothes. If you leave one wet in your gym bag I suppose they might smell a bit … otherwise they never smell bad.
    Question How wet does the MakeUp Eraser need to be
    Answer Always make sure it is really wet (soaked), like a wash cloth. If it is dry or damp it is not as effective.
    Question How long will it last
    Answer Each MakeUp Erase will last about 1000 washes. Because it is such high quality, it is nearly impossible to wear out.

LIKE WTH THATS AMAZING theres no way one pack of wipes will last 3 years and plus its not like your gonna wash it everyday so it would last way longer than 3 years. Someone in one of these comments mentioned that if you wash it 2 times a week it'll last 9 years LIKE FOR ONLY $20 THATS AMAZING. and those cheap dupes are HORRIBLE! It's actually polyester, not microfiber. It's a completely different texture... I wouldn't rub a microfiber towel on my face, it's sandpaper in comparison to how soft the make up eraser is.

    • @BreeIsForBeauty
      @BreeIsForBeauty 9 лет назад

      Melanie K The term "microfiber" actually refers to the diameter of of individual fibers of a material, not the type of material itself. Most microfiber is made of polyester, but can be made of many other types as well (for example, cotton microfiber sheets)
