i work in retail and a coworker of mine plays townes van zandt and other classic country singers on Sundays due to it usually being a wind-down day, country fitting that sort of thing more than the eclectic playlists of what we would otherwise have on. now, country and folk is not my first pick of music, but these songs rock and im eternally grateful for my coworker for introducing them to me
Steve Earl said , "Towns van Zandt is the greatest song writer ever and I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and tell that to him."
@@jamiehenry3135 It is not necessary to bring that quote in all of Townes' songs. Getting pretty sick of the comparison. Why can't Townes be himself without being compared? Both Dylan and Townes are amazing songwriters. Enjoy them both.
@@stynershiner1854 Keep scrolling then I guess? The other guy mentioned the comparison so I shared a relative quote that I thought was funny. So how does this work? Since your the internet police do I get off with a warning this time or are ya going to rough me up a little bit? Is there a fine involved?
A once great paradise of all possibilities, soon becomes our tombs the place where none despite their longings can leave, to their growing aggression . Anyway that is my interpritation of this brilliant, brilliant song.
I wouldn't say I adore one more than the other, they are both amazing in their own ways. But I sure do love Townes.. I almost feel his lyrics are more relatable. And his poetry is so beautiful, and not so cryptic as Dylans. I think Townes background is almost more interesting, and it paints a picture of why Townes is Townes.

@@jamiehenry3135 For every person who quotes this in every TVZ song, CO² increases in the atmosphere. No wonder we have global warming.

This would be a cool song for IV and The Strange Band to cover!!!! Great song!!!
A tough hit in the chest. That's where I'm at right now.
Mr. Dylan, you still, have so much to learn.
Hilarious (your comment)
Have you heard Jesse Welles yet?
One of my favorite songs of his! I'm going to do a cover of it soon, just working on memorizing the lyrics.. There are 6 verses. Love this song!
Thanks Townes!

What absolute perfection.
You just don't get any better than TVZ. My adoration for him peaks more than for Dylan and I don't care who knows it.
