Helen Traubel singt diese schwere Arie ganz grossartig.Sie bringt die ganze Dramatik mit ihrer herrlichen Stimme zum Ausdruck.Danke, lieber Uli für`s posten.
Remarkable. So much better than the results from the session recording, made a few days later, which was plagued by so many problems in post-production! Traubel sounds fresh, relaxed and focused here, not fatigued by the rigors of session recording! Even the orchestra plays better.... You can hear her voice bouncing off the back wall of Carnegie Hall!
I admire that she keeps the core on the voice, forte or piano. She’s not really at full throttle throughout.what I particularly love is the warmth and femininity .
Wie man auf englischen sagt “you’ve either got it or you don’t”. Interesting to compare her Du bist der Lenz where she drives the music forward with Davidsen who is always behind the beat because she is having to prepare the next big sound. Traubel is a recent discovery for me.
Not only do you have Traubel singing, but you have Toscanini conducting. It doesn't get any better than that.

Magnificent. Helen Traubel was one of the greatest Wagnerian sopranos who ever lived.
A minor correction if I may. Helen Traubel was the greatest Wagnerian soprano ever!
She is wonderful! My favourite.
I usually rank the greatest Wagnerian sopranos as follows: 1. Nilsson. 2. Traubel. 3. Flagstad. 4. Varnay. 5. Modl.

Excellent singing !!!
Who sounds like this today?
Now most sopranos have fake darkness, no chestvoice and a wobble.
υπέροχο
wow - she keeps it at full throttle the whole way - very admirable

Fantastic! Brava!
все совпало в этом исполнении, волнительно
Not Nilsson but wow. Grazie. 🙏
Does anyone else think, straight on, she looks a little like Barbara Stanwyck. (Nose and eyes)
