In the 1990s, if you wanted a SUV in America, you likely wanted the fuller sized, Isuzu Trooper or the sportier, Isuzu Rodeo! There was a time when seeing a couple of Isuzu's during a 10-minute drive was very common. Isuzu also built the Honda Passport and the Honda Odyssey during their initial productions as well, so Isuzu was a huge domestic JDM name in the 1990's in America. I hope they can rebound as they did years ago.

Dmax had one of the best load specs.
This is good news, if it has reasonable specs, will definitely sell.

I have a 20 year old DMax in Thailand. It's still like new. The best vehicle I have ever had. I hope they make an electric one priced at a reasonable price. If they do it will sell well in Thailand.

The D-max comes under the CHEVROLET brand to Ecuador, my country. It sure to be the best selling car here but Chinese pick ups brands such as Jac, Dongfeng, great wall have taken over the market. Dong fend is the only one selling a fully electric pick up truck right now. They sell it for 40k usd. Still a bit pricey

Izusu used to sell the trooper and trooper 2 here in the US. Were reliable vehicles but abit under powered.

ISUZU pickup truck with BYD battery would be a best seller, hope they prepare with enough factory capacity. By the time they are ready they could even license the FSD hardware & software from Tesla too

The Isuzu looks fantastic. We'll probably never see it in North America, our vehicle selection just keeps getting smaller.

I've always read Isuzu's tagline "Trucks for life" as "Gasoline Powered for life" so this is very surprising.

Isuzu runs the risk of becoming Japan's largest legacy auto mfg. 2023 🤣🤣🤣

Here in the USA Isuzu is infamous for under-powered light duty vehicles.

I've been saying the only way to compete with Tesla is to make something they don't make. A small (and affordable) EV truck is one of those things. There are none in the market now.

Because they know people that buy utes won't buy them.. EV's are pointless AF, even more so for tradies..

Yes, Isuzu will be the exception and China EVs will be the major new EVs as Toyota and it's subsidiaries don't have real EVs for the next 3-5 years.

    NO ER on Toyota.
    NO ER on Tesla.
Why do you put "ER" on the ends of the companies name.?

as much as you rightfully poo poo Toyota, if they were to actually put their minds to the task, they COULD create and market viable BEV. Unfortunately, they have not seemed to see the need to do so, yet. They are a giant, even if misguided at the present, and they do have GLOBAL engineering, marketing, and distribution capabilities. In the near future, they may finally see the light. Don't count them out even with their current debt load.
