      So should a person spend 200 on the Quest X10 or 250 on the Simplex? I love the depth on the Quest X10 and the 300 dollar Quest Q30. I`ve seen people bury a coin 10 inches deep and still hit it with the Quest after raising the coil 5 inches above the ground.

I’ve been in places that I was told had been hunted out years ago & I found targets that other machines didn’t find. Not only find multiple targets but find them deep!! 10” -12” & even 16” or more. I’m very happy with Quest Q30 plus.

    Actually, they didn't win the lawsuit at all. This is pure BS on the part of First Texas. It wasn't them that dismissed the lawsuit. Both companies were also ordered to pay their own costs.

    Interesting story, Joey. I wondered about Quest product invisibility in the US. Could be as simple as a coder who worked for the contract manufacturer (CM) that crafted some of FTP’s code, left and took the same coding IP with them to what now is Quest. Quest products look more up-to-date and feature rich than FTP’s offerings. I’ll watch for your Q40 review.
    BTW, almost all of the electronic components in our everyday products come from China or Taiwan or some other Asian country. There are a lot of CM’s in those countries as well as Vietnam and Mexico that assemble, program and test the boards that go into said products. Those boards can easily be shipped back to this country to be assembled into final product for sale here. Unfortunately the assembly, inspection and test equipment is very expensive, and a lot of companies cannot afford to have that kind of equipment in house, along with all of the other supplies and personnel required to run the machines and produce their own boards, cost effectively. So the companies outsource. That said, the product’s origin on the label should be truthful.

    • @VegasDtech
      @VegasDtech  2 года назад

      Carl Morland from White's replied to allegations of chinese parts in their detectors and he stated that it has become virtually impossible for the company to buy needed electronic components from US sources.. They do buy resistors, transistors wherever they are available.. Where they're made he can't or doesn't know.. (CHINA) the dirty word nobody wants to say -

    • @ksavage681
      @ksavage681 10 месяцев назад

      Yes, lots of people have come from FTP or other makers to work for a new company. Those people are the ones that know the code. First Texas has not come out with any new detectors or code since, and soon they will be out of business for not having a long term plan. The world moves on.

    Excellent video Joey. Love hearing about the quest. A lot of what you mentioned here I already knew I had read a couple of years back. They just came out a few months back with the new Quest X10 pro model which is ip68 rated waterproof, operates at 12 khz frequency. Just like the nokta makro simplex. It's got the front-facing flashlight. The panel lights up. And it's got the five by 9 Double D coil. All for $199. I have only seen one review on this metal detector and it's not a very good one the rest of them are all in Russian which I don't speak Russian so I can't understand what they're saying. And that review is from England. I would love to see someone in this country do a review on that little detector because I believe it is one Kick-Butt machine. Industrial espionage has been going on since ancient times and why the tank and many other items get made in other countries and why project paperclip happened in WW2. And why Nasa became an idea too. A country that innovates and learns from others will always come out ontop. Hence partly why China it's a leading technology superpower. In part this is due to western countries cutting China off years ago. After working in China for 2 years I was happy to learn how nice it was there. The food the people the amazing technology it's a great country to live in too and I own a detector that I know 3 western countries are trying to get and rebrand.. it's just a matter of time.
