Yeah, that will be a lot of fun. Also, this year will be my 5th year of publishing a "Top 10 Family Games" video, so I think I am going to do an "of all time" edition, reconsidering all the games I've already recommended and choosing only our most played and enjoyed games.
I’d like to request the Board Game Dad Essentials list. Also I love playing this game on BGA (I don’t own a copy of it) but it’s a great puzzle with the added challenge of optimizing your tile placement so you can move up the tracks to get more points and get rid of any meteors you’ve collected.
I avoided this game when I first saw it. (Maybe this would have been interesting to state in the review) but I thought it had a stupid title, I am tired of fantasy space exploration themed games, and tile placement is an overused mechanic… but I love it! Now I play it on BGA also!!
@theperfectboardgame If the over used mechanic and the theme are put to good use you’re in for a great time as proven by this video. This also gives me a video or video series idea of game that make excellent use of (potentially) overused mechanics.
I’m not a good person to ask that question because I hardly ever buy expansions. When I do, I usually regret it because I frequently play games with new and different people. When I do, I teach the base game and as a result, the expansion goes unplayed. My family is my most consistent game group, but I’ve been playing board games longer than I’ve had kids and the habit of not buying expansions has stuck with me. So this is not a reflection of my enthusiasm for the game, but no, I will not look into the expansion.
@hmmmstvethebaffled7720 I got this game during its first Kickstarter campaign. I decided against the expansion because it only seemed to make the game longer. I feel like the game stays the right amount of time, and I don't want to inflate game time.
Ooo, i just got this as well, haven't played it yet, so glad to know its a hit with you!
Would you be up for doing a list of games that will never leave your collection with explanations as to why?

@theperfectboardgame look forward to that! Happy new year btw
A really delightful game that works so well, even at 2P.

Totally agree, love this game! I do wish there was more player interaction but that’s it! You thinking about getting the expansion?

@ interesting, I respect that. Most expansions don’t add much anyway and are overpriced too, although I can’t help but buy them anyway lol
