A battered and bruised platoon of facist soldiers face up to the consequences of defeat.

The Thing created with a sprinkle of magic/ supernatural.
Somehow this episode slipped by my notifications. Just now found it.
All of the Soldiers were pretty stupid for not killing the Borda Witch and then burning her dead body to ashes for good measure when they had the chance to do so.
Got my heart pumping! Well done! Thank you for all the great stories and the hard work that goes into every detail.
I am very happy you did an episode that takes place in Italy!
I am also intrigued by this Borda Witch character, which apparently does indeed exist as a folklore tale.
As far as I know, my country doesn't exactly have a load of paranormal folklore entities:
We certainly have the occasional haunted castle or monastery, the "shadow man" that adbucts bad children, and witches, but still nothing compared to most other European countries.
Characters such as witches are greatly more prevalent in the north, (as it is accurately portrayed in the video) possibly due to the Germanic influence.
There are often malevolent spirits/entities that appear during war, drawn by the constant of death and pain. Perhaps this is one such spirit...

This is why you never take a witch captive
...I don't know, mayhaps you should make 'em cringe with the use of a Tunnel of Love.
Don't ask...
No, this is why you never take a witch captive without a Salt Circle to keep their fuckery contained
I watched on Patreon… that is nightmare fuel…so glad I watched it just before going to bed! 😱😂😂 It reminds me of “The Thing”, which still terrifies me to this day!
A nice surprise upon arriving home, the latest UE upload. A good creepy story with excellent artwork. Not only Italian soldiers but a Brazilian character as well.
Liked the story, hard core Italians that fought to the end is not something one reads about. In spite of the some the criticisms leveled at this story, the bottom comments, the conflict and terror was there. Keep up the good work!
I’m subscribed to about 15 channels. I save you guys til bedtime every time x
Well, guess I was very wrong into thinking this is about Roman legionnaire ghosts... and dang, this sure is a cold case, what with things obviously not ending well and with closure compared to previous stories.
And I just noticed that the main threat is actually an Italian folklore witch... thanks for using my magical girl/witch suggestions in this form, I guess.
great story but did you know that this video is not showing up in your video list, it is however in your playlists. I was able to view it through notifications, that's how i came by it.
Alas, yes. It’s not due to go out until next weekend, but I accidentally enabled it long enough for a notification to go out.
Which makes me a muppet, and you the beneficiary.
@@UnclassifiedEncounter oops! Cheers!!
Badass.
Great channel, your hard work is appreciated.
This story reminds me of "The Thing" by John Carpenter where a creature takes humans into itself and uses them against it's enemies.
You get me every time! I had to stop video and switch to audio once they captured the old lady. It’s 3am here in the US, which is the witching hour. Oh heck no. Video will be watched in the bright daylight. My closet light is on the rest of the evening. I think I will just wait until the morning for the rest of the audio too. Kudos for another great scare!
Absolutely excellent!
fucking awesome. best one yet. keep em comin!
a bit late to the party but always enjoy the videos \ o-o / really great episode
"🎶Ooooh Dietrich Furs, part of the Dietrich family🎶".
Can't believe I missed this for eight days... time to catch up before the Behind the Scenes vid shows up.
There is a story behind that, and it’s my mistake.
I’ve tried to get into the habit of uploading a week early, but keeping the video unlisted so the patreon subscribers can watch it early with the link they get.
I clicked public by accident whilst i was doing that with this. As a result, a couple of hundred people got notifications and watched it, and everyone else didn’t get notifications when I did make it public,
So in reality, it wasn’t unlocked until first evening, though some people saw it last weekend.
Still learning…..
Huh. So I didn't actually accidentally hid the video on my subscription list... don't worry, I forgive you. Besides, at least I won't have to wait too long for the BtS video, all while I'm still waiting for a currently overdue trailer for a certain Disney Channel show... less than three weeks just isn't "soon".
Such a cool channel and narrator 🥰
Great stuff again guys, brilliant channel.
Well worth waiting for.
Superb!
First rule of show business.
Give the audience, what they want…….
amazing work
❤
This reminded me of like "You know The Thing!" Hmmmm now where have I heard that before?
I hope Whitman makes it out he’s already killed one super natural entity
Baresi: "Why Don't We Just Wait Here For A Little While, See What Happens?"
Pretty darn cool!
Good story!
Are these true stories? Great work either way !!
Creepy.
WTF HAPPENED TO BARESI?!!
Calling these men socialists and not fascists was weird but it is a boogie man story so...
As they say, dont let your right hand know what your left does. I dont care for the charities you support , but the quality of your content.
Ok I don't understand that comment one bit...
Veterans??if so shame on u
Very interesting and entertaining story, but why call the fascist soldiers socialists?
sure Italy was called the Italian Social Republic, but that don't make them socialists.
If that were the case North Korea should be considered a democracy, since it calls itself the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
That has been picked up by a few people, and in hindsight it should have said racist. I was skim reading and noted down the socialist element of the title of the republic.
A lesson for me to edit more thoroughly on future
They were fascist not socialist
🐿🤤
"As more of the terrified socialist soldiers opened fire" @12:01 um what now, don't tell me you think that Nazi troops qualified as "socialist" cuz no just no bruv. Thats like saying North Korea is democratic just cuz its in the name
bad wifi
Did not enjoy this episode.
🤔
@@UnclassifiedEncounter Since I've enjoyed the other episodes tremendously, here's my 2c:
- use of tenente / lieutenant / then leftenant disrupted the flow
- descriptors of soldier factions as socialist / republic didn't help me identify or connect with them. was drawn out of the immersion to remember who was who from foggy history classes
- narration felt forced until the 2nd half of the plot
- score didn't contribute that feeling of dread
- artwork was meh
All taken on board, and greatly appreciated.
This story is so fake.
🤔
I greatly enjoyed this episode, & I sincerely hope this doesn't devolve into yet another idiotic & clichéd mudslinging match over Communism vs. Fascism (as many things much less closely related to such often do online, it seems,) but with apologies, I am genuinely confused by the usage of "socialist," here. It is possible that I misunderstood, but this is used in reference to the Italian troops, yes? While it is true (from what I can find) that Mussolini was a FORMER Socialist, by the time he became dictator he was a pretty ardent Fascist, & under him, all non-Fascist parties (including the Socialists) were illegal. Another commentor thought it was in reference to the Germans? If so, this is marginally more fair, as "Socialist" is in their name (National Socialist German Worker's Party,) though in all truth, National Socialism looks a lot closer to Fascism than it does to Socialism proper. If I have missed or misunderstood something here, I greatly apologize. I do not wish to start any arguments, I am just honestly confused.
It was in reference to the RSI, the Italian Social Republic that ran between ‘43 and ‘45.
But in hindsight, I can see how it’s misleading to use as a term, and I should have gone for ‘fascist’ instead.
Okay, I think I understand, now. Thanks, & keep up the amazing work! 🥰
@@UnclassifiedEncounter I had wondered the same, also back in the golem story.
At least in that one, it might have made sense for the up-and-coming National Socialists to let the "proper" Socialists do something that would excuse arrests at a later date, while taking out another perceived enemy in the process.
Past 1940-1943, I don't think you'd find outed Socialists out in the open in any of the Axis territories, so the terminology does scratch at the ears.
Glad you could clarify.
