    In this video, watch as I capture star trails and night time lapses with my GoPro Hero 11! The newly released Hero 11 Black has a lot of new features, like 10-bit color, a new sensor, hypermsooth 5.0, and even STAR TRAILS! The star trail feature is essentially a night time lapse, but with the stars' paths shown!
    As soon as this camera was announced I knew this was a feature I wanted to try out, and after I got a lot of comments asking for this video, I knew it was time to make it! This video gives you a step by step guide to creating star trails/time lapses on your own, showing you all of the best settings, as well as showcasing the footage I captured! Believe it or not, this footage has been barely color corrected, as the footage right out of the camera was already good enough.
    After seeing what I captured I was honestly blown away. I had no idea a GOPRO could capture footage like this. I hope you all found this video fascinating and helpful! Enjoy!

    Hi! Many thanks for this great video. I tried to replicate this with my GoPro 11. However, whenever I take a photo (not video!) night lapse, the exposure of the resulting photos is much (!) lower than what I set. For example, I set a shutter of 30s with an interval of 60s, but the resulting photos only have 1/3s exposure time (I checked it in Lightroom). All other modes work fine, I can for example shoot a night photo (not timelapse) with 30s exposrue without problems. Can you maybe try/confirm this on your GoPro 11? I would like to know if it's a general bug or specific to my camera. Many thanks in advance!

    I loved this video!!! I’m new to Go Pro and I just ordered my first one.. hero 11. I’m so surprised you can capture star trail’s because everything I’ve read about it is that it’s not a good low light camera. Does it capture it as a video with the star trails moving or as a still shot? Thank you so much for posting this video tutorial. I cannot wait to try mine out for this.

    I have so many questions. How did you get around the overheating on the camera. These cut off at around 15 minutes in 4k. Also you said you left it there for the night. How big of a power bank did you have attached to the gopro. I didn't see one in the shot.

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  Год назад

      I didn't have any issues with overheating while making it. The camera was recording for multiple hours at a time, but I didn't have any issues. I also didn't have a power bank attached to it. Each battery would give me about 3-4 hours of recording. I'd set the camera up around 8:00pm, then go change the battery around 11:00 or midnight.

      Star trails doesn't waste battery as quickly compared to standard filming. The enduro battery will help you get longer video, but I've always gotten at least 3 hours of recording time. You can film all night if you keep the camera plugged into a power bank.
