    Thank you for the tips! If I don't want to edit my videos (just trimming, but no color editing at all), should I use a red filter for diving? Or you still recommend no red filter? Thank you in advance for your answer!

    Nice.
    Again, you're lucky you dive in clear light waters. :)
    4k 120 will simply result in unusable footage at our green dark waters here at Portugal. ISO would have to be superhigh and that would mean loads of grain.
    oh.. and sharpness... low. Always. :)

    How do you think your settings would compare to the "easy" settings on the Hero11? Instead of switching back and forth between settings....

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  Год назад

      You'll still be able to capture good video if you don't mess with your settings much, and leave them the way they were when you got the camera. However you can really make your video look better if you change your settings. So if you just want to film what you're doing, and don't need it to look the best it possibly can, then you can leave them the way they are.

    Hello.
    Why dont you reccomend filters?...If you can increase red colors in white balance why would you use filters with for exemple hero 6...does hero 6 have option for red whit balance...and do you edit your videos?
    Great video

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  Год назад +1

      If you're using a Hero 6 then I'd recommend using filters, because you can't control the white balance as well as you can now. However, if you're using a Hero 9, 10, or 11 I wouldn't use any filters. I do edit all of my videos, just to make sure they look really good.

    • @ThierryC2373
      @ThierryC2373 Год назад

      @@FintasticFilms I was pretty sure you edited the videos, I just come back from a diving trip with my GoPro 9 and filter or not, there are some times where the red comes through way too much depending on light conditions on raw footage. Great footage by the way!

  • @boomermcfall
    @boomermcfall Год назад

    I used my new GoPro 11 down in Key Largo last week but viz was murky but did use that 10 bit color in 5K/60 with Native White Balance! I didn't use any video lights and tried a red filter and still have to go through a ton of my video clips for edit. I am jealous of the footage you have gotten but thanks for sharing all your tips!!! I came to acknowledge that using a filter for underwater with an 11 doesn't wow me and won't shoot with one unless I can figure out other protune options.

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  Год назад +1

      Filming in 4K120 my battery life is able to last 2 dives. It depends on how long you leave your camera on during the dive, so keep that in mind

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  Год назад +1

      Yes. GoPro's are waterproof down to 33 feet, but any deeper than that and you'll need a case.

  • @739redrose

    This may be a dumb question but is there a difference in video quality between fresh water (like a pool or river) and salt water? If so are there any settings to adjust for this? Or am I just overthinking this

    • @FintasticFilms
      @FintasticFilms  Год назад

      Most of the time there is a difference! Fresh water is typically more green and yellow, whereas salt water is more blue (usually). Adjusting your white balance is the only thing I would change between fresh and salt water.
