What happens to Choo Choo Charles when he gets so injured that he retreats? Like we know he goes off somewhere, but where exactly does he go? Back to the box that he’s in at the start of the game? Or just to a completely different part of the map?
Maybe he does go back to the box, because it was mentioned that box was to stop Charles from seeing the player below the map and chasing after them. My hypothesis is that he’s programmed to return to that box when he is injured enough so that the player doesn’t prematurely kill him
According to the developer, Charles goes into an active hunting mode every 5-10 minutes so I think he just goes back to the box until that mode is activated again. I think programming an AI to both roam the map and attack you at random intervals would make a lot of extra work to make sure he doesn't accidentally come across you and either not react to you or you'd get so many chase scenes that it stops being scary and fun.
Like after killing Eugene, Charles runs away in a straight line before unloading. Idk if he goes in the box for a while after that before being unleached again though
