This song always breaks my heart and I always cry because my brother is a Vet and I have much respect and passion for our military and have a passion for the homeless. No Vets should feel alone or be homeless

My dad served 32 years active duty united states army and did 4 tours in Iraq and was blown up 56 times by i.e.d.s and was killed in a motorcycle accident 5 years after retirement five finger death punch performed at his funeral. Great group of guys.

5FDP is an amazing band that are amazing supporter of first responders and veterans.
The actors are real-life veterans.
One of the band members either was or still is a reserve police officer.

Thank you for your service and the humanity you show on your traffic stops. I wish our government would do better. I know our veterans are heartbroken and frustrated with the lack of support they have right now and the ones they’re losing after they come home is one too many. I print their Memorial Day and Veterans Day programs for their services every year and I see the pain past and present. They deserve so much more respect. Thank you for the respect you give them. Be safe out there.

This is one of those songs I’m in love with. It actually pushed me into taking the steps to actually go out and volunteer with veterans. I went from wanting to, to actually DOING something. That’s why this song means so much to me. It’s sad that this video is old, the stats have skyrocketed from when they made this. It would actually be horrible to do a side by side to today’s stats 😥. Regardless this song is great to jam to while on a long car trip.

What people often forget to is, these are just young men that go to the service… they are exposed to so much trauma, and expected just to go on with their lives when they return. How we treat our young man in the military is deplorable and I’m ashamed of our country for this.

Damn this song always hits me hard in the feels. I will not claim to have any service related disability but I damn sure got divorced because of not being at home. Remember that we all can help when we see someone standing on the side of the road with a sign. The text on the screen near the end of the song regarding suicide always makes me remember. R.I.P. I appreciate your respect for others in the field of service… I happen to be an RN. For some reason we‘re rarely ever included in these types of considerations. as a nurse, I’ve managed threats, de-escalating aggressive patient/family members, provide patient/family education in their disease processes, surgical procedures, medication’s, etc., etc., etc., a strong advocate for patients needs, managing physicians/surgeons/ patient care techs etc.. The list goes on and on ..yet we’re often invisible. This is across-the-board in service recognition (so I’m not picking on you for your comment) it’s always military physicians, EMTs, firemen, police officers, and teachers. They are absolutely deserving, but it’s disheartening that our selfless contributions often go unrecognized.🤷🏻♀️🕊️🌺

@@free-speach I couldn't ever serve but my first ex was military my father was a veteran. What we do to veterans isn't fair they fought wars so we could lay down at night knowing we are safe. It's definitely heartbreaking they deserve so much more than what they get, 💕 and they don't ask for anything I'm return.

The worst is returning to an unfaithful spouse and divorce. I mean, “the worst” in terms of coming back alive and uninjured.

I did hair in my military town for years and actually had a client brag about cheating on a deployed spouse. As a military brat and someone who’s had friend’s husbands KIA it took every ounce of strength I possess not to lose it.

Thank you brother for your service, though I've talked to veterans who say that such a statement is an insult...as so often your "service" is to people who make the rules and force you to do immoral things or be fired, blacklisted, or worse (Chelsea Manning, Ed Snowden, most Vietnam vets, ect.)...so I guess I'll just thank you for all the little things you do when you recognize the humanity in others...take care sir, I hope you can find happiness as you work to do the same for others in your job...as IMHO, to help those who suffer the most is the highest calling...

im an afghan vet you dont know what we lived our lives what we did before this nor after i have been 1 of the lucky few first i came back i shoukldnt have but did 2 i got married due to my deployment with the understanding i wasent coming back but did 3rd she stayed by my side laying on top of me every night due to ptsd and may 2 was our 25 year aniversary still by my side trust me im far from ok but i kjnow right i know wrong, and still by my side is my strength i got lucky with her 1 person can make that impact on every vets life dont have to be a wife we dont want your ty just lend a hand your hand could be the difference between death or life make that effort. i know from what i witnessed this woke age wont and thats your lose, but to the rest of you you know im true

We dont have much money but we support the same and st.jude and wwpj. Ever month 50 to both as a father of 4. Plus I won't give the homeless money I go get them food. We know how it is if you give most of them cash. I find a way to help
Likewise. Sometimes giving them money feeds there addiction. I saw a homeless man dumpster diving, everyone else walked by him. I walked with him into a restaurant and let him order a meal. The looks I got from everyone pissed me off🤬 All I was doing was helping.
Sometimes the addiction is the only thing that gives them mental peace when they don't have anyone else to help ease the pain even if it'd temporarily its relief I know from experience I'm not full blown addiction but I do use Sometimes just to get relief that nobody will help we with
@@jamessmith7959 I'm an old meth cook from Michigan. Did 12 years and this last March I've been clean 21 years. I understand the struggle. I know if I put food in the belly of anyone I know thats what I can do to help. I wont feed them the garbage but they will have a full belly no matter what they do
@stevenwiltse9611 I've always made sure my bills are payed have groceries and have never stolen to feed my drug habit maybe I'm a different kind of drug user because I only do it for relief from my anxiety I've been using for 10 years now and when I start getting my mental health meds again and they quit screwing around ill stop self medication again I atleast stopped using the needle 2 years ago I was 35 when my wife introduced me to heroine after they cut me off cold turkey from my pain management in the name of reform and i guess its messed up that i started my journey so late and shooting the hardest drug but I've never let it dictate me ive quit for years as long as my dr is taking of me i don't but when they quit i medicate myself
