I noticed, when editing my videos recognizing ANZAC Day, that I never once mentioned the Kiwis. I never meant to slight their sacrifices, and I want to recognize them now. They stood shoulder to shoulder with the diggers and fought bravely.
My Father was a Vietnam Vet. LC In the United States Marine Core. Served Vietnam & Was in the Beirut Bombing during the peace mission. He Brought back everything with him after his service and Used the drink to deal. Unfortunately he passed when i was 12 due to it. Vietnam Vets... were not treated well. So im very happy to see you healthy and here with us still. Thank you for serving our country. Its because of you we can sleep safely.
You have what some might call a 'non-expressive' face. But I can see the emotions. Thank you for your service. Never be afraid to cry. It's a natural human emotion
As a Navy vet who served in Afghanistan in 2012, I still watch this video from time to time and it still makes me tear up each and every time. You're absolutely right that the government couldn't care less about us, we're nothing more than meat for the grinder...
100% service connected Veteran with severe PTSD, every time i watch this video i tear up and i must have watched this well over 100 times. Today is Memorial day 2024 and it's really hard to get through.

@@anthonybrownlee1457 a lot of people don't realize you can call the help lines even if you aren't suicidal, if you're overwhelmed and need to get something off of your chest you can call, they'll listen just the same. I'm glad you said that, and thank you for your service, I hope you are doing as well as you can be right now.
Thank you for your service, sir. The music video broke me, your reaction to this video broke me again. That emotion you held back near the end of the music video was as powerful as the band's message. I've never seen any man with that kinda strength. Either keepin it in or lettin it out, BOTH are correct.
My father is a vietnam vet, and when I look at you I see that same look on his face. When I was young life was a nightmare at home until finally on the 50th anniversary he realized he had PTSD and got medicated then things changed. Glad to see you are well. Bless.

I started the nomadic lifestyle over a year ago. So far I have met two homeless veterans. One has a camp trailer, the other has nothing. But they both have my complete respect. As do all. I also fear in the coming days we will need you.
I watched "Rambo 1", over and over again! I served in german mjilitary vor 8 Years( 1984-1992) . I had luck, and had not to be at the "Front". I feel with you.
YES!!!!! Edit to add now that you've watched it: Thank you 🙏 A friend from uni, we applied to the ADF at the same time only he got in while I had to become a mum, shared this with me. It might be USA centric but you're right. Military is military. This band's metal ballads are literally life-saving therapy for those who can't get it anywhere else. Again, thank you for watching and thank you for your prayers.
A soldier can never leave his post. Crippled, disfigured or both, mentally or physically, if you don't have a supportive family, you will always be alone. The fight never ends, just the battlefield changes. You can cry, you can scream, you can rage at the whole world, It doesn't matter, no-one will help you, there is no silver lining, it only exist in fairy tales. You are just dead weight. Though you put your body trough the meat grind for reasons that you thought was justified, still people will look at you funny, some will literally spit on your face just for fun. Never expect mercy from anybody, humanity has lost that kindness.
Personally, I would not know what to do. Is there a reason for sun to rise tomorrow? Perhaps, maybe, you can never know, unless you experience "tomorrow".
They are a heavy metal band. With an amazing mssg. The wrong side of heaven righteous side of Hell. Should be a TV commercial.! They should all go to Betty Ford free as long as they need to heal. 5 star treatment they all deserve. Instead of rich people crying because they have an addiction, we all should feel sorry for them! I am a Canadian, still will Thank you for service to your country. Blessing Sir🙏

Biggest shame is the long list of organisations/foundations. There should be no list. You come back and live happlily ever after..not contact one of a hundred 3rd party lines that try to fix what your own government pretents to not can do.

Sir, in Italy is not even recognized. I'm still serving, i have 9 deployments, i worked with a lot of soldiers all over the world, but in my country it means nothing.
As an Afghanistan veteran, I can tell you some nasty realities about our government. Once the government is done with you, you a discarded. Its a bit better here in Florida. When I lived in NY, and I would imagine in all liberal utopias, veterans are considered a burden.
i'm in the UK, i'm not a 'vet' but my uncle is (Iraq, Kosovo, and Ireland) Tanks, Kings Royal Hussars, I remember going to Orlando about 18 years ago and being in Seaworld, before doing a show the person doing it asked veterans to stand for applause in recognition of their service. My uncle refused to. he doesnt want all that, it was just a job he did to him. And i know there must be things, memories in his head from what he saw during those years he served but you wouldnt know it if you saw him, i think he is, outwardly at least, one of the most laidback people i know.. That thing you said about the fact that there are organisations set up to help veterans shows that our governments dont give a shit is something i absolutely agree with and can relate to, i was born with a disability, can't do that walking thing, 'my people' are another group with these organisations designed to help us because our governments won't, although they think they are.
To break this video down is it details a fog of war friendly fire incident where the one guy lost his mind and shot two of his fellow soldiers if you watch closely. So the guy shot the black guy then then bearded guy & got jailed. This is what the video is saying. Watch it again you will see what I saw.
That's an interesting take for certain but it's definitely far from correct. The song and video are about PTSD and its effects on veterans. It also shows that it effects people differently. Early in the video you see the black man get shot and the bearded man drags him to safety and places him in the vehicle. Later in the video you see the same black man dressed in a business suit find the now homeless bearded man. Or the scene of the homeless vet being arrested only for the cop to see that they have the same unit tattoo, indicating they served together.
I've done a few soldier genre stories on a website, and I do so not only because I generally wish people would stop treating our veterans like garbage or that I'm grateful we have soldiers to protect our country, which I do wish and I am, but because my elderly uncle was also a Vietnam veteran and my other uncle I believe is still a soldier today. My latest story as of right now is a faith-based story about a widow who goes out of her way to save countless veterans. Consider that story as a second thanks from me for the service of our vets. And you sir, thank you as well for your own in 'nam! 🫡🫡🫡 🙏🙏🙏
