- This is the Japanese translated version of the song "Requiem" made for the 2015 Japanese production.
I do not own Death Note the Musical or anything to do with it.
Music: Frank Wildhorn
Lyrics: Jack Murphy and Ivan Menchell Приколы
Things Death Note the Musical fans argue about: English or Japanese version, Misa being an Alto, meaning behind the words, etc.
Things we all agree on: this version is gay and Micheal Lanning is a god.
XD
I mean...where is the lie?
I do like this version, but I like the English version more. This is a little repetitive in the lyrics toward the end and sounds more like metaphors, while the English version sounds like the ending of a Greek or Shakespearean tragedy, more like an actual requiem to send the souls to the afterlife and giving the world a message. Yeah, I stick to the English version- poetic and bleak. But I liked the whole musical, in Japanese and English. It's a very beautiful rendition of Death Note.
Spent the last half hour listening to the English and Japanese versions alternately - I think i like this one juuust a bit better ;)
Thank you very much for uploading this!
Boy do I love this song. This and Cruel Dream I know all the lyrics to the Japanese versions. I don’t know the bass and baritone section, but I assume they’re singing a shortened version of the melody, with one syllable on each beat.
I think the English lyrics is better in this case, but the Japanese singing is more touching in a way.
I love this one too. And yes, I believe you're right. I don't speak Japanese, but I hear the same sounds.
Mary Jane I agree, the arrangement is much more intense. The english version we have is just a demo, I can’t wait to hear it with the final arrangement someday.
Tell me what you guys want next!
A Syrdal I have! It’s on the playlist on the link at the end of the video.
I'll only love you more?
Aspie Near Kira in Japanese.
