@Baromirek1 I know, that's why I loved the Half-Life 2 book Raising the Bar, the sheer amount of stuff that didn't make the final cut is fascinating. Hell, it's what inspired me to become a game designer.
@sangheili1024 I think you're right. It's clear why some of the cut lines - especially the more aggressive ones - didn't make it into the final game. This doesn't diminish the entertainment value of them, though, and it's fun to imagine how the game could have been. (Even if the final version is more than amazing.)
@Tjatter I think this is a relic from earlier in Portal 2's development, when GLaDOS's hatred of the player was much more forefront. It also seems they sacrificed a joke for the sake of continuity, as this line wouldn't fit in well given how the scene plays out in the final version.
@Baromirek1 Well said, good sir. I'd also like to add that Valve has a rather bad habit of cutting dialog and leaving the recorded lines in the game files; there were quite a few for Alyx Vance in Episode One IIRC. Which is fine when you're in development, you never know when they might come in handy again, but they're generally not something you should ship with.
@TheGLaDOSvideoCore That's never happened to me before. Every time I've gone there, I've heard the same lines: GLaDOS sarcastically congratulating you on putting Wheatley in charge (complete with slow clap processor) during the fall, and her stating that you need to team up to stop him when you reunite with her in this scene.
GLaDOS: go on. get a big fat eye full. with your big fat eyes. that's right. a POTaTO just called your eyes fat. Chell: ... *takes out a deep (fat) fryer.
@BHSilver It wasn't used in the sense that I've never heard it anywhere in the game, and given how the reunion with PotaDOS plays out, what with her getting pecked by a bird and with Wheatley about to blow the whole place to kingdom come, it makes sense that these lines got the axe. But since I've heard numerous claims otherwise, if someone sends me a video proving that these are still used, then I'll change the video to reflect it.
@Fr0stDog Yeah, but that's kinda how the video game development cycle goes. Something sounds good on paper, but ultimately doesn't work in the game itself, or the game winds up taking a different direction, so it takes its place on the cutting room floor. Valve is no stranger to this, just take a quick look through the developer commentary or any of the behind-the-scenes stuff.
@minecraftwwadlol The main point of contention I have with this is that that video was posted mere weeks before the game was actually released. That late in development, all of the voice work's already done. Hell, at that point, the game's pretty much finished. So no, I don't think this is a reference to that weird-ass video.
Even as a potato GLaDOS has so much dignity and snark. I'll always love her character :)

Oh, how I love GLaDOS' character... Even as a potato she has character and dignity

Glados fails to notice the irony because potatoes have eyes too.

"That's right. A potato just called your eyes fat. Now your fat eyes have seen everything."
@AgentStolas That. Would be delicious.
GLaDOS: HEY!
Me: I can't help it. It'll be so good. - ketchup bottle -

@2KingdomHearts345243 I meant unused in the game itself, not in some fan-made song.
@sangheili1024 no, he means that potatoes have "eyes"
those things that grow out of a potato if you leave it out for too long
GLaDOS fries! taste the science in every crunch!
GLaDOS: go on. get a big fat eye full.
with your big fat eyes.
that's right. a POTaTO just called your eyes fat.
Chell: ... *takes out a deep (fat) fryer.

@sangheili1024 You don't hear it if you stand there for a long time. A different speech comes every time you go there.
I can see why they cut that out. I'm sure Chell would have chucked the potato out the window and into the toxic waste.
Lol knowing you it's a deep fat fryer, stay back!

@signa8 Robotic ones, which may or may not be fat, as opposed to organic ones, which are fat all the time.
@bxk21 Oh, really? That's what they're called? Huh, you learn something new every day.
Potato.
I like these lines better than "Hey, you're good at murdering. Could you Agh! mur-der this bird for me?"
@TheGLaDOSvideoCore Orly? Because I hung around both of those places for about ten minutes, didn't hear any of this.
@minecraftwwadlol The main point of contention I have with this is that that video was posted mere weeks before the game was actually released. @TheSoldierCore Think of how mean GLaDOS is throughout the rest of the game. I mean, yeah sure, that may tick someone off, but think about it.
They cut it because apparently people wouldn't pick her up after they found her because she was too mean, so Valve made her nicer ;)
heheheh
potato glados: french fries anybody
This dialog is cut couse the poeple will get angry of it or wont play the game.
@Fr0stDog 'Cause no one wanted to pick her up after she said all that.
:P
is it just me or would this work as a ringtone? a little? XD
Oh, that's brilliant. Too bad they couldn't include all her lines.
Me in the morning in a nutshell. XD
@TheSoldierCore Ok then. It was meant for laughs.
These are not unused look for the potatDOS song it's got some otf thoughs quotes
mmmmmm glados
@LTURTLE27 PC gamer here, so I couldn't really tell you. I get the feeling this guy is either trolling or using a mod or something.

This aint cut, I've heard this in the chapter where you find her as the potato and when you are falling.
ummm.... so how was this not used it the game??? I clearly remember it when I played it, granted it was day 1 when I played, and beat the game.
@Tundranom Because you were adopted and nobody loves you.
@Fr0stDog Dude, look through the comments. I just posted my thoughts on this.
HAHAHAHA!
...why wasn't this in the final copy?

@Pokefreak090 What about her?
@ultradarkflamewolf but that dialog is not that mean but funny :D

Yo dawg I herd you liek GLaDOS so we put a GLaDOS in a potato so you can stab her while you kill wheatley.
HA. Fail.
@Pokefreak090 Oh. Well, in that case, congratulations, you get a gold star. I'm joking, of course. You don't get shit :P
