Finally someone who lowers the tonality a little bit and doesn't do a ridiculous attempt at sounding feminine
You know, I actually find it much easier to hit higher notes if I use a higher placement (thinner tonality). Sounds feminine but I couldn't hit high notes without doing it.
I won't ever be able to reach these notes anyways ahah, been singing for 4 years now, 21 y/o male, I'm probably a baritone, I can hit decently low notes, my highest note is the one on the Man In The Box chorus, but it ruins my voice ahah, it's really pushing it..
@@Hexthrill Yeah if one sings this tune in the original tonality it has to sound feminine, ironically a male would sound even more feminine cause the notes will all end up in the head voice while a female can use more of her chest mixed voice. That's why it makes much more sense to lower the tonality. Btw I'm a tenor and that note from man in the box it's quite high! It's a B4 or a Bb4 if I remember correctly, either way quite high. It depends a lot on your training, if you get lessons etc. You might be a tenor who aren't simply not enough trained on the high register, that's quite common. On the other hand most tenors can develop a baritone-ish tone, by using the right amount of chest resonance. If you find that note really hard it also might be cause you're attempting to get the same kind of tone. It does sound strained on purpose, the way Layne Stailey did it, but that doesn't mean you have to.
@@MusicAbio well, that note is so high for me that I can only do it on really good days, and I do the song once and can't do it anymore. The note is so high that I can't even attempt to imitate Layne's tone, I just have to do it on my own, and tbh it doesn't sound very good eheh 😅
YES!
