This is exactly the type of writing I want to hear more of in metal, the kind of "happy" riffs that remind me of light 80s rock styles but isn't the exact same thing, different in its own cool way.
me too. this kind of so called black metal makes me really happy. great (progressive) compositions, creative artb and videos…… just now i saw PASTE NOIRE and they blew me away. fook. hail seitan!
yeah this sound is very randy rhoadesque
this isn't metal. it's almost metal
My exact thoughts as well 🤘
Gjetting from,Norge🙂🇧🇻
where has this band been all my life ? such a brilliantly written song, so happy now I've found them
It's been 2 weeks that I play this tune every day, love that brutal smiley vibe, it brings me happiness !
Thin Lizzy meets Boston meets Emporer. This song is beautiful!
Spot on!!!!
This. I can remember Thin Lizzy so much from this song.
I wasn't a big fan of this song in the beginning, but it's really growing on me!
the video made me love it!
Yeah you cant get it out of your head ! ha ha ha
CTCAC2000 h
same
I think just the same 😁
takes me back when I was fourteen me and my friend moshin just the two of us wasted around a fire slamming into each other. before love before possessiveness before gods before whatever happens that kills the spirit in this life.
This is a great comment
This might be the best music video I have ever seen.
I really enjoyed the craftsmanship and story telling in this video. Awesome!
Makes me feeling like driving and old car on a long road in the summer. This album loud. Great track, awesome LP.
I had to see it... twice!!!!!
... nice song!!!
what a great memory of the sound from the 80's in a new look
NIIIICE! very fitting song title, gives me the retro chills. Waiting on the radio to tape the song, hoping the moderator doesnt talk into it or fades it out...
This is easily on my list of favorite Metal songs.
Never heard of this group before and only heard this for 1st time a week ago, its a awesome song, the guitars are just great to listen to.
The video is like Fight Club and Clockwork Orange together
Giordano ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ O, the movie. XD I thought you meant to write down Code Orange at first. XD
now you know
I still love this
I REALLY LIKE THIS BAND
The pure simplicity of this song and the positive vibe that that comes out of it is simply.... \m/
My Social Studies teacher recommended Kvelertak to me and I just have to say, THIS BAND IS CRUSHES!!!!!
I'm super excited for the new album. This song is kind of different compared to their other music, but it's not bad. I don't understand why people are so negative about it. You gotta experiment, don't expect everything to be perfect
+Creliat I agree that a band doesn't have to settle on the safe ground, but most of this song is the first ten or so seconds repeated. It's not bad, but I just hope that the rest of the album will be better.
+CugnoTheSwiss Same, I needed some time to like it. I am sure the album will be great. I think every band has a song that isn't as good as the other ones. I've heard people completely shitting on this song, like it's not amazing, but it's not horrible.
+Creliat I'm listening to it NOW (:
I keep on coming back to this song every now and then. The utter chaos shown in the video makes me happy somehow. :)
best rock intro ever made and there will not be another one like this...
THIS IS GREAT! I feel this will be the masterwork of a lifetime! Puting all metal in perspective this might be the only all in one definition of heavymetal! GREAT GREAT JOB.
1985 is great.
Please come to Portugal next tour!
I think its called 1985 because its "the year after 1984" as in the Orwellian 1984 - ties into A Clockwork Orange's vibe.
The concert in Oslo was great yesterday! Can't wait for the new album!!!
My favorite track on the album. Such a great tune.
Personally I love this song and the video. It might be sofer than their other songs, i don't care, i love them all.
Great song. Makes me think of Turbonegro and CKY.
And so much Baroness musically
Some smartass told me to try the song in speed 1.25 and now it's impossible in the original tempo :) Amazing !!!
Without a doubt my fav in 2016 - Cant get it out of my head, and i love it :)
This was awesome, I'm so pumped for the new Record '!!!!
Spotify suggested this song to me when I was driving into the city with some friends, half a bottle of rum in our bellies, windows down. This song came on and none of us us had ever heard it but we all started singing along, not knowing a single word but we didn't give a shit. We were headbanging like that scene from Wayne's World. It put us in such a good mood we had the best night and it's the song in the car that I'll remember forever.
amazing song
Great video, can't wait for the album!!
I blast this tune every day and I have no idea what the hell the lyrics are but I still love it
is this a reunion of the kids in Bruane Brenn? =)
Ari Saksala holy fuck
nah its the dude from Rogue One(star wars) and his homeless friends.
Those guitarmonies are amazing
Loves these guys!
Wow ! Metal with classic hard rock mix ! This is something special !
This just made me smile :) Great nostalgic feelings!
Whoa, what an awesome song! It's incredible and full of energy and inspiring...
Or not really. It mostly makes me fear that one of my favourite and trully unique bands may turn into something quite generic, as this song sounds compared to their previous works... Yet I hope for the best, because damn it, that's still Kvelertak!
+Димитър Маргаритов I'm thinking it would go great at a party :D
I know this is what it's always said but it's just a song, we have to see how the rest of the album is. Not always the most 'classic' kind of song gets video.
Димитър Маргаритов This song has a really melancholic theme lyrically. It's about how society is turning more dystopian with eyes watching us everywhere, thought police etc. And how the singer just wants to "go home to 1985" before everything went to shit. So I think the soberness of the song reflects that.
They really should do a whole movie about this video, actors look great!
This is my driving song. So good!
So simple Riff and sounds genially
This jam reminds me of me and my posse of friends in high school going around the town doing crazy stupid shit blasting music the entire time, also getting drunk on my friends trampoline and partying all night. Great times
The video has a Clockwork Orange vibe to it or is it just me?
+Rob Edwards I thought so too.
+lkshldrck exactly.....
+Rob Edwards totally
+Rob Edwards just you.
+Rob Edwards or more likely nazi terrorist training camp .
HA! Found it! heard this one on radio like a month ago, knew I had to listen through it again to see if I liked it.
I do like it, not the best, but I can't judge them on one song, I'll go through the rest as soon as this one ends.
I've known about this band for years but this song came out of the playlist today so I just stopped shuffle and played all their albums....twice at least.
I love it ! :)
Sounds like metal, pop and ballad put together.
this is basically blackened 1970's/1980's stadium rock, in a much more overt way than I have seen any other band go for
The sound reminds me of Thin Lizzy a little bit if you know what i mean
+Jakub Korczak Exactly what I was thinking, like Thin Lizzy in a cocaine OD.
WHiskey in the Jar
Harmonizing guitars
Yeah, also a bit of Baroness
@@nicolasdicesare3650 John Baizley from Baroness actually did the art work on their first two albums.
Короче это просто круто. Очень нравиться эта музыка.
Where is the aggression, drive, speed and energy of we all are used of Kvelertak's previous songs? That is what made the band unique.
hence '1985'
love this one
top song for now this year!!!!
BROMANCE
I don't know what I just watched...but it was great!!!
That's exaclty kind of emotions which I gettin inside right now lol

The new album kicks so much ass. It's great how they evolved
Thi is perfect!!

Rule number 1 : never talk about Kvelertak .
Rule number 2 : never talk about Kvelertak .
Rule number 3 : never write Bullshit .
Rule number 3 : never listen to Der Superfetch.
@@Bananekopp - I can tell you've never seen the movie 'Fight Club'. That line is from the movie, and this video is clearly inspired by that movie.
those guitars 👌👌👌👌
The main character in this video looks just like the therapist I had in college.
this is one bad ass song
Thats the thing about Kvelertak , they mix awesome things with Metal : On their first album , it was Hardcore Punk + Black Metal , on this song its 80s Hair Metal + Black (somewhat) Metal . I for one am enjoying this \m/
A friend of mine referred me to this band and I dig them!
GREAT band, GREAT song, GREAT video!… HAIL KVELERTAK
this aong is awesome cant understand a single word but its music so i dont have too
Chills.
Black'n'roll in its purest form! Great for parties, alko-fire-camps and car travelling!
Skam kult å se ein kompis av seg i denne musikkvideoen :)
My birth year
Black metal foo fighters
lol
LOL. Awesome comparison!
XD
black'n roll:D
I can see that with the vocals but musically maybe not this song - FF doesn't do this clever level of harmonized guitar parts - but definitely "Bruane Brenn"!
ахахахахааааа я вспомнил детство)) хоть оно и пришлось на начало 2000-х - 2013 примерно))
great song
I don´t understand a single word, but its so awesome!
See you at Southside Festival - Greetings from Germany
I love the chord progression =D Feeling some queen vibes here!
Great song!
Amazing imagery of A Clockwork Orange, Fight Club and more. This is the visual aid they intended when they wrote this song, I guess.
Deserves more views.
this really makes me wish i knew norwegian, greeeat sound!
the best. so good
+whiskeyburden DEM LICKSSSSS
meo temon man, aca escuchando de chile uwu
Queen if Freddie Mercury was known for his fry vocals
Black metal vocals keep getting added to happier and happier music. I can't wait til they just started dubbing it over Perry Como songs
Being at work singing in my head and randomly shouting '1985!' gets me some strange looks...
Brilliant! Thanks for posting! #AddItHere
Dis da fuggin jam!!!
Bring me back Mjod!
+Gaynetdinov Salavat Their first album is my favorite album of all time, but I'd get bored if they made the same kind of songs on and on. Even the second album was too similar to the first one imo. That new style isn't great but it's good that they try new things.
+BOBOUDA to me the second one wasnt the same as the first, it was average, some good riff spread here and there with some screaming that didnt follow the music at all
Dezfafara88
Its overall not as good, but its really the same style, same influences. Here its straight up a change in the way they sound.
+BOBOUDA maybe you're right maybe they just fucked up on that second cd and to me it sound just a different album, with nothing remarkable
Our fammily use to make alchohol-free mjød every christmas, it tastes awesome!
I wanna know the story behind this video. It's awesome
Awesome 🔥 and waiting for you in Portugal 🤘
Amazing as usual! Thank you!
i love this, i want a lyric Video
why isn't this an actual movie tho?
It is; A Clockwork Orange
Goldfraap!!!
God I love this video.
This reminds me of some Sloan on a weird level. Love both bands.
