Oh my, this was wonderful. You gave me some great ideas. I’m not as busy as you so I think I can do it. With some extra fill ins for things like work meeting notes and scripture writing, gratitude. Thanks so much!!!!!
You are so welcome, Stacia! I'm so glad it was helpful!
I have been changing my planning system a lot but have gotten a bit more settled now. Here is what I do: I Frankenplan. I use 5 planners in one. My planners are all Happy Planners. I put one month from each planner on one set of discs.
The first planner is a monthly planner (the one that has the blank lines for every day). I use the monthly portion as my gratitude/blessings and the "dashboard area" as my goals for the month both for home and work (I work at home), then the daily list area is my work accountability where I list what I have accomplished each day.
The second planner is a dashboard planner. The monthly portion is my birthday, appointments, important daily items. It is a quick glance at what I have going on for the month. Then the weekly area is my day to day, what I want to accomplish this week, my track of weight for the week, my main (not groceries) to buy list, meals for the week, etc.
The third planner is a vertical planner. The monthly section is for my spending/budget area. It keeps me on track of what I'm spending. The daily section is my health/meals. I am doing the Weight Watchers counting points and I list everything I eat plus my steps for the day, my exercise, my liquid intake and just an overall of what I'm doing for my health.
The next planners I've used for a long time just in different types of planners. The fourth planner is a horizontal planner. The monthly is my scripture for the day. It goes by themes and I love seeing what God has to say about something for the month. The daily pages are my journal pages. My how did it go today pages. I love having a place to write down my thoughts for the day.
The fifth planner is a horizontal planner. The monthly is my prayer page. I list on no particular day prayer requests for the week. I am part of a prayer group for a specific prayer item and I have it marked for the day I pray for it with washi tape. The daily is used for my bible study. My husband and I teach a young adults class and I write down our scripture on one page and Sunday morning scripture notes on the other. I use extra paper to write down other important things about my bible study, etc.
Between the third and forth planner I have my "future" dates pages. They are pages I made to put down any future dated appointments. I have a page for every month for the rest of this year and a half size sheet for other years (I have through 2027 because I have to renew my driver's license then).
This really works and so far I have had nothing slip through the cracks (unless I just didn't write it down - which is happening less and less). Hope this can help someone.
Thank you for your very thorough response, Wanda! I love your planner system. The idea to have "future" dates pages is genius! For your main "to buy" list in your weekly, do you take your planner with you to the store or just the sheet it is written on?
@@PersonalizeMyPlanner No, I have a mini Happy Planner that I carry in my purse. As a part of my weekly review, I will write anything that I have written on my "to buy" list from the main planner into the mini. I will also, if I know I am going out, check the list to see if there is anything at that point. It's mainly for items that I think of while working around the house.
LOVE! Wow.
Wow, Lauren, terrific video. The visuals made the reality of your busy life pop in the context of an all-in-one-planner challenge. During your intro I was expecting to see a really, really busy planner. It was really, really busy, yes, but even to my easily visually overwhelmed brain it looked organized and very user-friendly, not to mention attractive. The added pages for your work notations really made sense and did not seem to detract from the usefulness of the weekly spread at all. Good points at the end about life and its seasons and being able to realize and adapt to them. Just an excellent video, one of many you have brought to us on your channel. Thanks so much.
aqua46784, I absolutely loved reading your feedback! I was very concerned before I set up the spread that it would be too overwhelming to look at because of all of the categories I needed to include. I'm glad that it came across as organized and user-friendly to you. Thank you for consistently supporting this channel!
i literally gasped out loud when your planners hit the floor!!! lol did they survive i need to know!!!! 😱 lololol
No worries, they are not bent or scratched. I was kind of concerned before shooting that scene, but I decided to just go for it. Lol. :)
Love how much quality work you put into your videos, they are very well thought out, great editing and amazing content!
Thank you, Sally. It means a lot to me that the time I put into the videos is appreciated!
You’re adorable and I love your willingness to try new things!
Thank you!
Great a video!! I didn’t know why RUclips recommended it because I use one planner for everything. I tried multiple planners and frankenplanning but felt that I was spending more time planning than actually doing. One planner with inserts is my planner peace. I like how you color coordinated tasks I am definitely going to start doing that.
Thank you very much, LaShandra!
I absolutely loved this video! One planner is quite a challenge but I may give it a try. Love how adaptable the Happy Planner is - adding pages is a life saver!
Thanks, Jennifer! The flexibility/adaptability of the Happy Planner is definitely one of its perks!
Lauren thanks for sharing! I have not been able to keep up my life planner and my teacher planner. Your idea of adding those pages like a dutch door is going work like a charm.
Thanks, Faith! I'm so glad you found the modified insert idea helpful.
I really loved the use of the scrapbook paper folded over to make a second list! I'm going to try that! Ty for another awesome idea!
Thank you, Di R! Glad you liked the idea!
Love this idea and the way you layed it out and explained was great. One planner is a definite idea with the exception of my faith planner. I would positively have a separate planner for that.
I completely agree about the need for a separate planner for faith.
Thank you for sharing this, Lauren. You have given me a lot of good ideas. You are so organized and your handwriting is amazing! Oliver is so cute! 😊
You are so kind, Francesca! Thank you! I try to add Oliver to the video when I can. Lol.
WOW! Great video and that was a lot! I am so happy that Stacia B. came up with this challenge. You have shown both the plus and negative to a one planner system. When I first had a planner I had one planner but there was never enough room for everything and notes. Now I have 5 planners and a happy notes note book for work. Having separate planners help me to focus on one subject at a time and be more organized. Also, I too keep my work planner open, but sometimes I write something personal in it and I have no way to cover it up, great idea with the inserts!
Thank you, Roberta! That is a good point that having separate planners helps you to focus on one subject at a time. I find that to be true for me as well.
I love how you planned out your sections! I just recently changed to a Mini Happy Planner because I wanted the separate sections and I love that size. I am still putting it together. Great ideas!
Thank you, DarcieGlam!
Thanks, Lauren, for another awesome video. I'm really trying to fit multiple categories (home, work, school, health & fitness, meal planning, faith, etc) into one planner. After seeing this, I may try putting everything on one week, however, I think franken-planning would work better for me. Still researching on how to do this. I'm fairly new to planners and searching for planner peace. Love your videos.
Thank you, Patricia! I hope you find your planner peace!
I am glad you did this video. I just now seen it as I was searching how to use a teacher planner for everything. This was very helpful for me. Gives me some ideas on how to simplify. Thanks for all your videos. You are one of my favs. #keepplanning
Thank you Sherry for your kind words! I'm glad that you found the ideas helpful!
Have you thought about a “Franken-Planning” setup? I just created one for myself because one planner isn’t going to meet all my needs, but the flexibility to take several planners and mash them together to be what I want them to be is phenomenal. Thanks for sharing your planning experiment!
Thanks, Samantha! I currently have my Home, Faith, and Social Media planner set up as one transformer planner, but I probably need to think about incorporating more Franken-Planning into my 2020 system.
This amazing!!! I am doing this! Too many planners have me all over the place!
Awesome, Erika!
Hi ! Just subscribed! I really loved this. I really enjoyed the one planner routine! It seemed so functional. And I love how you got creative to make more space. I am a one planner girl myself and got a ton of ideas!
Welcome to the community, ScottKS14! So glad to have you here!
I am like you I need more than one planner, but this is a really great idea you did get a lot in your planner. I agree with you about your faith planner you need more room that is why I could not use just one planner. Have a bless and wonderful week.
Thanks, Donna! I guess I could have added more inserts for faith journaling, but I would have had to add dates to them. At a certain point it just becomes easier for me to have more than one planner.
I agree! Thank you for always showing us ways to improve are planning system. I so appreciate your help.
Yes ! I love this video ! I just bought a teacher planner and I think I will set mine up this way!! 😊
Nice, Annie!
I loved your little touch at the end about everyone is at s different season of life just like in the Bible. I feel though that I have one life planner with planners that help with side things like meal planning and faith planning but apps are really helpful too!!!
Thank you, KJ! Yes, I've recently been exploring the idea of combining apps with planner usage.
Still looking for planner peace. So far I have a home planner which is a frankenplanned catchall planner, a work planner, and a faith planner (actually a warroom/faith planner) which I prefer as a separate planner so I don't get distracted in the mornings. This was so helpful and so well done, thank you. I'm a new subscriber. And on a personal level, bless you for the work you do, I have a son battling brain cancer.
Thank you and welcome to the community! I'll be praying for your son.
I use 5 planners myself and purchased a teacher planner to try. I just can’t seem to set it up in a way that works for me. I like to decorate and there just isn’t much room for that. After watching this, I really want follow your set up! Thank you so much for this video!
Dana, I'm so glad that this gave you an idea for your set up!
Don't do it! 😉 A planner group I'm in decided to do this for the month of September. In the first week, I missed jury duty and I didn't track anything. I felt like a mess! My take away? I don't like change! Plus, why change a system that works for me? I hope you have a lot more success than I did! Good luck!
I like the Dashboard Layout cause it gives me plenty of space if I use it correctly and it’s like 10 planners in one!
I do frankingplan/transformer plan cause I like only having one planner for all the things
Nice!
Love the idea of using 1 planner and how u made it work for you... I like to know where you got the work out stickers and the 2 bags
Thanks, Danielle! I bought the workout stickers from ilove2print on etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/570079254/planner-girl-workout-i-printable-planner?ref=yr_purchases and both of the bags are from Target. I'm not sure if they are still being sold because I bought them in 2019.
Omg thanks for sharing.. I'm always struggling with one or more notebooks ( I plan with bujo cause it's more cheap) .. and when I look to other people planning it's always few things written that I think I'm not doing well.. when I see your planner it's so organized I understand why to use multiples planners.. although it's really easy to have just one to go with us
Thank you, Leticia!
Can I ask what stickers you're using? I know some may be outdated, but maybe not! The little colorless characters you use often are adorable. I love the boxes and stuff along the edge headers/labels this time!
Thanks!
The decorative full box stickers that I cut in half and used for the life categories are from here: amzn.to/2QiDDXu (note these are sized for the BIG-sized Happy Planner)
The box stickers for the life categories are from here: amzn.to/38XXkut
The glitter boxes and scalloped checklists are from this shop: www.etsy.com/shop/HelloPetitePaper
The colorless characters are from this shop: www.etsy.com/shop/ilove2print
The flower shop stickers are from here: www.paperpanduh.com/product/the-little-flower-shop-sticker-kit
The headers and dates are from pinkpixelgraphics.com (I think she shutdown her website because I can't find it anymore).
I love this idea... maybe I can try this too
Thanks, Shantele! Hope it goes well!
Where did you purchase the work out stickers?
Anjanette, I purchased them from an etsy shop called ilove2print. Here is the link to the workout stickers: www.etsy.com/listing/570079254/planner-girl-workout-i-printable-planner
