    Don’t know if this is gonna help anyone, but I find that arc disc binding is probably perfect for my adhd brain! Because I can take all the wonderful ideas from each of the planners and put into one. Just need to print the template/make it yourself and add to the disc notebook. And if you don’t wanted it anymore, just take it out no problem and forget about it. I find having more than one options for planners already very overwhelming. So, having only one to go for is much better and being so easily customizable helps a lot. Right now, I’m in a journey of making a possible planner and sketchbook all in one hahaha

    I am a newly diagnosed ADHD adult and a Gifted Teacher. I literally teared up when I saw the options you presented. I have used an EC Teacher Planner for years, but as my brain changed, I used it less as it felt too large and overwhelming at times, plus I am in my 50’s now and can do most of my curriculum without needing so much detail. But I am struggling terribly now! lol Life is a journey. I will definitely purchase some of these and will give them a try.
    My admin suggested an Indigo planners so that I can block time during the day for the testing I have to do one on one with students in a vertical format in order to visualize the time chunks daily and to think through the test time and teaching time balance, which can be crazy at time between all the school’s lunches, recess, etc. for every grade. I would love to see your thoughts and a review on one of those?
    Thank you for your nonjudgmental approach as well. :) It helps. ❤

    • @MySomethingBeautifulLife
      @MySomethingBeautifulLife  10 месяцев назад

      Aww! Thank you for your sweet comments. I’m glad it gave you some ideas and I hope you find one that’s just perfect for what you need! I tried looking up Indigo planners but I couldn’t find them. Do you have a link? (If you post it here, try putting a space before the .com or whichever ending it has so RUclips doesn’t think it’s a link). I’d love to look into them. I’m always up for trying new planners. 😄
      I do know of some other planners I’ve tried that have a vertical hourly layout that might work the way you were talking about. The first one I’m thinking of is the Erin Condren LifePlanner in the hourly layout (they aren’t in stock right now, but the July start planners will be available in a couple of weeks). I’ve used this one before and really liked it. Happy Planner also has an hourly layout. Both of those are weekly planners so you can see the whole week at the same time. Clever Fox has a fairly new hourly planner in a bound book so it’s small and portable. I actually have one of those that I’ll be reviewing soon. And if you have Instagram then if you message me (lauren_msbl) then I can send you pictures of it. Also, the Erin Condren Daily Duo has the hourly section on each page too if you’d like room for the schedule and a to do list.
      I hope this helps give you some additional ideas. And always feel free to comment or message me with any questions. I understand so well how ADHD can make it harder to find a planner that fits what we need. But I do believe it does exist. 😊

    Hey Lauren! I have ADHD and have been looking for a planner that I can use specific to my needs. I’ve tried so many over the years and haven’t found something that works for me. Just wanted to thank you for making this video because the Erin Condren seems like something that suits exactly what I need! I get overwhelmed easily and tend to forget appointments. Not only that, I get super anxious when making plans because I’m scared I’ll forget them! And with ADHD it replays in my mind all the time… I’ve ordered the Erin Condren planner and hope it will address my needs ^_^ Thank you for an insightful video!

      Thank you so much! I hope it works so perfectly for you! Something else you can try in addition to that is putting appointments in your phone with alarms to remind you before you need to be there. Thank you for sharing. I too have adhd and I’m finding the smaller the planner, the less overwhelmed I am using it. I used to use the EC life planners and teacher planners but lately they’re too big for me so I’ve switched to the Sterling Ink b6 and passport common planners and grid notebooks. I find them to be much more portable and less overwhelming when feeling the need to fill a page. Also, I now used an altered Alastair future list method for my ongoing to do list. I do one once a month and refer back to it weekly to determine my weekly and daily to dos. Again, thanks for sharing your thoughts on these planners. So many good ones to choose from.

      Ohh! That so interesting about the size! I never thought about it like that before, but I’m actually really picky with sizes too! But it’s not necessarily that I need them smaller (although 8.5x11 is way too big), but I think it’s the proportions. I can’t use the mini happy planners or 6x8, but I love approximately 7x9 or 10 and A5. I’m glad you found some that work for you! I agree about the pressure of trying to fill up the page. And I’ve been intrigued by the Alastair method, but I’ve never tried it. Maybe someday! Thanks for sharing! 😄

There are monthly calendars-2 of them for each month, a weekly spread with lots of room for appointments, to-do/brain dump, menu planner, expenses tracker, and in the front there are list of your house broken into zones, weekly cleaning tasks inspired by FlyLady, and Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas organizers built in the planner. They come in 6 month or 4 month books. Plus freezer inventory and car maintenance reference. Check out the daily spreads, with lots of space for routines, to do lists, scheduling. You had some great options & I’ve tried every single one😂 But I always go back to a disk bound & now use custom inserts. I have to have the ability to add sections/pages which leaves out a disk or hard bound planner. I used Franklin Covey for over 20 years & was fortunate enough to go to a live class by them. I liked the PPP a lot but after 7 months switched back to Disk bound. The EC folios I absolutely hated. I never had the “right” folio with me & even bought one of her Carrier notebooks that held 4 folios. They were too easy to misplace & forget about! And I didn’t like the Daily Duo because I like to write things out for the entire year & it only has 6 months at a time. Out of everything you showed, the PPP was my favorite. I even thought about tearing out all the pages, cutting off the spiral side & punching discs slots in the pages. That’s when I searched for custom inserts:). Great video though. Thanks

      @MySomethingBeautifulLife  4 месяца назад +1

      I’m glad you liked the video, even if these planners didn’t work for you. And I totally get it! That’s the hard thing about ADHD is that every single person is still so unique with what will work and not work. Thank you for sharing that with me! All those issues are so valid and I’ll take that into consideration if I make another video like this (which I’ve been considering since there are just so many planners out there). I have another idea for you too… what about trying the PPP printable version, and printing it to your preferred disc bound size? I just did that and put it in my A5 rings planner. I’ll be totally honest that printing it all can be a pain (and expensive depending on how you do it), but if you ever decided that you wanted to use that planner with discs, it is an option. It’s one of the few planners that offers their planner as a printable too. I’d love to hear about the custom inserts that you use too. 😊

    In the mskselife, how wide are the weekly vertical columns? Could I use my EC sticker kits?

    • @MySomethingBeautifulLife
      @MySomethingBeautifulLife  Год назад

      I don’t have it with me to measure at the moment (I can do it later when I get home if you still want), but pretty sure that the stickers will fit in the weekly columns. I think they are 1.5 inches wide just like the EC. I think it’s the top of the page where they might not fit the same. Also, the ECLP has the notes column on the left of the weekly spread, and MäksēLife has it on the right side. So if there is a strip with days of the week, the pieces for each page will be different (Monday-Wednesday vs Monday-Thursday). But the stickers for the actual columns (appt. stickers, boxes, etc.) should fit just fine. Hope this helps! Let me know if there’s anything else you need. I have both at home so I can compare them for you.

    ADHD... how many people label themselves being as such kind of person. Anyone living with a genuine ADHD individual knows that they cannot and never bought a planner or can keep a "planner"...

    • @MySomethingBeautifulLife
      @MySomethingBeautifulLife  5 месяцев назад +5

      There are different levels of ADHD and even within it everyone will struggle with different parts of it. What is true for one person will not always be true for another. I’m living with two other people who have ADHD (and have had experience with many others, including interviewing them on what they struggle with and their strengths) and we all fall on different ranges for each struggle and strength. My mom is VERY good at keeping track of time and knowing how long things take, which is a huge struggle for most people with ADHD, but that’s an area where she thrives.
      I do get bored with planners quite frequently. I change things up a lot. However, I NEED to be using a planner to stay sane. I get great anxiety when I don’t have a planner to write down the ideas and to do’s and everything I want to remember. But others I know are great at keeping one planner all year. I love to switch it up, it’s fun for me. And I love trying new planners. I definitely attribute that to ADHD, but I do always have a planner at all times. I really believe all people with ADHD could benefit from a planner, or even just a specific and consistent notebook, where they can keep track of the things going on. Physically writing things down helps us remember things and make decisions. Each of these planners I’ve recommended has a feature that works WITH ADHD instead of being a generic solution, just depending on the needs of the individual person. And there many planners were created by people who have or suspect they have ADHD, like the bullet journal and the PPP home planner.
      There is not a one size fits all solution, but I absolutely believe it’s possible for most people with ADHD to use and keep a planner.

      Just look at the views on this video...its the most watched on her channel.

    • @MySomethingBeautifulLife
      @MySomethingBeautifulLife  2 месяца назад

      That’s possible. I’m certainly no exception to that. Many of us with ADHD do try and fail a lot, or get bored. Which is why I made this video. I tried to cover different areas where those with ADHD might have trouble in hopes that they would find one that would fill the gaps. And while some definitely use a lot of planners, or go through many different planners looking for the “right” one, some are also perfectly fine once they find something that works. My mom is a perfect example of that. Sometimes she needs to switch up her system, but once she finds something that works, she can stay in it for years without planner hopping. And she even has me around trying to get her to try something new, but she knows when to stick with what’s working. It just goes back to everyone is different, even among ADHD.
