Derek Carr is lucky to be away from the dumpster fire known as the Raiders, hopefully he can have some notable accomplishments in New Orleans, and actually be respected for what he does. The majority of people who blamed Derek Carr for the Raiders failure seem to have very little knowledge of football, and also seem to be very uneducated types of people in general. To each their own, but people fail to realize that teams have won superbowls with sub par QB's many times, far worse than Carr. Coaching is the culprit for lack of success in most cases, and the coach the Raiders have is a joke, regardless of his success as an OC in New England, he continues to prove he isn't a head coach.
Your documentaries are amazing and this channel deserves 950K more subscribers. I'd love to see you cover Donovan McNabb...may be a bit further in the past than most of your vids, but definitely one of the strangest careers in modern NFL history.
I was going to suggest this in the next video uploaded. I think the 2000s Eagles would be an interesting video topic for a retrospective because they are always good...just never good enough when it mattered most, they never gave their franchise QB the proper help he needed, except for one season when they actually almost won it all, and they obviously had a SB caliber HC. this was a team that SHOULD have won a SB but they didn't, so a videos going in depth on them would definitely be an interesting watch.
It was nice taking a trip down memory lane. I remember where I was for all of those painful collapses and playoff pushes. I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed every moment of it, but I would never trade being a Raider fan for any other NFL team. It's in our DNA to keep coming back for more heartache!! RN4L ☠
Yea we really like the punishment and mental anguish don’t we? I love the raiders more then anything but it really is tough being a raider fan nowadays but hey it’s better then rooting for the browns lol
@warlordofbritannia As a Chiefs fan I actually was rooting for the Raiders in their playoff match up against the Bengals just because I wanted to see the Chiefs end the Raiders season personally after already blowing them out twice during the season. They'll also always have my gratitude for getting our 2021 season back on track.
Yeah they were definitely something special, special fucking Ed. So special they played football on a baseball field 😂 the NFL would be a better place without the Raiders idk how you wear that logo and feel proud lmao.
Man, I remember that 2014 season. I know overall it sucked, but those three wins at the end really got me excited for the next year. That Carr/Mack combo just felt like we'd gotten the cornerstones we needed on both O and D, and all we needed to do was build around them. Then, of course, came 2016, where it felt like we were on top of the world! This was the Raiders' year! DC breaking his leg broke my heart (for him, the team, and, selfishly, me as a fan). And then the fact that he just was not the same in 2017, Cooper fell off a cliff, Gruden coming in in 2018 and getting rid of Mack... I had never been so devastated as a Raider fan, and I lived through their last SB appearance and the subsequent years where their best players were Seabass and Lechler (who were fantastic, but you don't want your best players being your kicker and punter). (I admit I did pick up the Bears' D on Fantasy solely because of Mack, and that did REAL well for me, so silver lining, I guess, lol.) Everything beyond this point is honestly just too sad. I have never blamed Carr for the Raiders' woes as there were too many other factors that he had no control over. Won't try to say the guy was perfect, but he was far from the biggest problem on the team. All that being said, I wish Carr the best in NO, and I'll always cheer on Mack wherever he ends up. Would like to see these two play together again someday. They deserved so much better.
Im a Jets fan and I remember being so jealous of the Raiders back in 2015. That core of Carr, Cooper and Mack. It was basically the dream to build a team around guys like that. Crazy how it turned out.
It's like all the RUclipsrs I like watching have favorite teams for my division rivals. Brandon with the Broncos, and you with the Raiders lol. And as a Chargers fan, I can definitely feel the pain of zero expectations lol
I've been a Raiders fan since 2000 and I knew this video was going to hurt, but damn, I didn't realize how much it was going to hurt looking back on this. You didn't even mention the years after the Super Bowl and how bad that was. Although, it was easier being a Raiders fan from 2003 - 2015 cause I knew we were going to suck. Once 2016 hit, there was always the thought that we may be good, and having hope hurts worse. There's times I just think, "damn, we really are snake bitten", but then I remember that we are just the Raiders and inflict our own wounds.
O'Connell is gonna do the same thing that midget for the Pats did. Have a good game or two then get fig'd out by the league because he can't see over the O line. Crossing routes only work for so long. An elite QB like Carr who can make ANY throw is what keeps a defense on it's toes.
@@bmorebirdsnest92 Oh really?! How about you watch the highlights from the 2016 regular season game against the Buccs and tell me that. The Raiders committed an NFL RECORD 25 penalties that game. Carr still won the game for us, finished with around 500 yards on his stat sheet. If you add up all the yards Carr had taken away because of penalty, he threw for almost 1,000 yards that day. He had FOUR HUNDRED yards negated by penalty and still finished with 500. If that isn't elite QB play than nothing is!
This was hard to watch being a fan through all this but also so good. Bro this was the best video I’ve seen about raiders over the years. Win lose or draw its Raiders all day and tomorrow. Let it all unfold.
Excellent. As a Raiders fan, it's tough year after year. If only I had picked a different team in Tecmo Bowl about 30 something years ago I wouldn't have had to worry about this. Darn you Bo Jackson for being awesome.😂
There's an episode of Family Guy where Peter plays Tecmo Bowl as the Raiders. He uses Bo Jackson to zig zag 99 yards, goes back into his own end zone, then goes 100+ for the TD. That's not much of a stretch of how it really was. Awesome game that my friends hated playing against me! RAIDERS!!! 🏴☠️
The Raiders imploded Derek Carr. People always joke about the raiders organization but it truly is pathetic 😂. Funny thing is Carr is more of a Raider than the entire current team. Fire McDaniels ❤
I'm with you..! Some of that is already coming true how badly Raiders and JG are stinking up the place. More on the way, I hope....Would love to see DC get deep into the play-offs
Really great video per usual and as a Falcons fan, I think it’d be pretty fun (and painful) to do a breakdown of the aftermath of the 28-3 Super Bowl. I feel like that game broke the franchise, and it hasn’t really been the same since
I started reading Hunter S. Thompson within the last couple of years. I highly recommend reading all his NFL essays and articles, it’s a perfect window into 1970s-80s NFL, you’d swear Al Davis and the Raiders were Hunter s. Thompson’s mortal enemies

The clown thing genuinely got a huge laugh from me. Well done. I remember when Carr came to Seattle in his rookie preseason and lit it up. I know it's just preseason, but the talent was there. Carr's career is honestly a big waste because Mark Davis cannot run an NFL franchise. He's never hired a good coach (Gruden was an overhyped retread when he came back) and let go the one adult who could potentially stabilize the team (Rich B). Until PF Chang and sodium takes Davis from us, the Raiders are unlikely to ever be any good. Brady and the Manning Brothers should start an investment group to buy the team. It'd be weird ownership, but it would have to be better. Oh, and the Henry Ruggs thing was so horrible. It's too bad we can't go back in time to have him drafted elsewhere because that young lady might still be alive. I hope Ruggs feels deep pain in his soul every day for what he did to her and her family.

Good job, and you haven't even scratched the surface on how much of a circus the franchise has become the last year and a half. But win, lose or tie, Raiders til I die. RAIDERS!!! 🏴☠️
I enjoyed that, thank you. Made me realise the Raiders is one of the worst teams in the NFL with 39 losing seasons, and #40 coming on fast. It's so difficult to get excited about anything Raiders when you see how they are able to shoot themselves in the foot, season after season. It has got to the stage when you look at the season schedule and ask yourself, which 2/3 teams will they beat this year. Despite all the pre-season hype about all the secret weapons they have this year , once it starts proper and it's all about winning, the Raiders revert to type and manage to get tonked by the worst teams in the league. Still there is always a bright side and next year they will have the #1 pick to choose from as consolation.
I love this video. It is the most honest and perhaps accurate assessment of this team over the last 10 years. Every bad decision and bad draft pick is illuminated here and cuts to the heart of why this team couldn't get out of it's own way.
If I can be of any solace the Raiders are in a very similar situation that the Lions were in after the Stafford trade just have to hope they draft well and maybe Jimmy G has a resurgence
The Stafford trade looks like it’s going to go down in history as one of the most lopsided deals ever…for the Lions! The Raiders are in a far worse place. They have minimum draft capital, they’re not bad enough to get a Top 5 pick, not good enough to do any better than 7-10, an idiot front office, Josh McDaniels as head coach, and swapped out Derek Carr for Jimmy G (which while a lateral move in terms of talent, Carr was the heart of the franchise and the whole reason they got Davante Adams).
@@warlordofbritanniaIs if lopsided? The Rams got a Super Bowl which Stafford helped them win especially in the Divisional Round. The Lions haven’t gotten anywhere much yet.

I took this girl I was seeing at the time to the game, and we're both decked out in Raiders gear. We left around the end of the 3rd quarter with out tails tucked between our legs... Even the redskin fans felt bad for us. They weren't even talking shit.
It all starts with Mark Davis. He is a complete clown that sold out for the money. Moving to Vegas was a joke and the "Raiders" image is now gone. This team is two years removed from the playoffs and taking the Bengals down to the wire of beating them. Davis destroyed this team and started over with a complete joke of a coach in McDud. Carr gone, Waller gone, Hunter not getting used, Jacobs not getting paid. Mark Davis needs to sell the team to an owner that understands how to run a team. Sorry but that's the truth...

It’s sad people still think Carrbage the cry baby is actually a decent NFL QB. He checks down way too quick and far too much. He sucks on 3rd down. He blows chunks in the red zone. You have to dumb the offense down because he is too stupid to learn a real NFL offense. Want an example? Rookie O’Connell already has a better handle on the playbook right now than Carrbage did at the end of last year. O’Connell already runs the offense better than the crybaby did. He has better timing than the sissy, who makes pressure when there is none. I could go on but the Carrbage ball slurpers won’t admit he did more damage to our defense than all the bad DC’s we had because he is a 3 and out machine. If he wins more than 8 games this year (he should) it’s only because he plays in the worst division in football. Oh, let’s not forget the Kalifornia bed wetter can’t play on cold weather. Or in the east coast. Bad weather on the east coast? Bet against the Raiders. Sissy boy and his equally sad brother have the WORST win/loss records of any QB’s in HISTORY. But that’s because the franchise sucks, the defense sucks, the play calling sucks, the weather was bad, the clocks were three hours early. It’s NEVER the crybaby’s fault. Grow up. The guy sucks. And he cries like a little bitch. We can now unscrew the franchise with that douche bag gone.
I’ve been a die hard raiders fan from The Bay Area my whole life. They were on their last leg moving from Oakland to Vegas. As a Raiders fan this was certainly... a trip down memory lane. Now that Carr is (finally) gone, the 2015 & 16 Raiders feel like a distant memory. Even the 2020 season feels like a lifetime ago at the rate the Raiders move. Of course, i had to look away during the "snap heard around the world", but i'm surprised how much i laughed at the Raiders being the Raiders. Carr fumbling at the goal line (twice), MJD punting the ball backwards, James Jones fumbling twice on one play, Damon Arnette being a psychopath, the absolute absurdity that we donated 4 or 5 drafts to the circus, the Gruden special second half collapse. As Raider fans, only we can - not only put up with the circus every week in and week out year by year, but also enjoy getting tortured revisiting the circus after it's all done. i hated this video and i loved this video.
You gonna leave out all his franchise records in less time, his pro bowls, the fact that he has the best OT record of all time, excellent career passer rating, 9 coaches, and statistically the worst defense in the NFL since 2014? How about him breaking his leg and then his back? How about him getting Adams the most TDs last year. How about his 20yd + game which is one of the best? Or leading the team to the playoffs that year with his slot as his #1 and only target and all the drama that you did mention... Nah lets leave out all the great things he did on bad teams.. im gonna laugh when the saints make the playoffs his first year. You probably thought Stafford sucked too 😂
@firewfire bro I'm a fan of the Raiders, I don't give a shit about Carr. I hope he has fun in New Orleans. I only mentioned him gone as a chapter in raiders history finally wrapped. Him and his hollow ass stats were just another chapter in this 20+ year circus ride

Imo, Derek Carr gets way more blame than he deserves. His defense was almost always in the bottom third of the league, at best. His offensive line and weapons were mostly bad or mediocre. The Raiders blew an unbelievable number of draft picks.
I'm not even ONE SECOND in and i'm already OUT. Anyone that blames Derek for the Raiders downfall is mentally handicapped. I've been a die hard Raider fan since 94 and i can promise you it was not Carr's fault. The only competent QB since Gannon is NOT to blame. Mark Davis bowing to the woke mob and firing Coach Gruden was the biggest reason along with Henry Ruggs selfish ass throwing his career away. Carr played hurt and never complained! Wait and see what Derek does with a team that actually wants to win! Saints will go all the way this year watch!
Pats fan and I agree. Derek Carr is a good qb and it made zero sense to me as to why they didn't want to re-sign him, especially after two playoff berths and his good stats in all 8 years with them. Before him, the last time your team made the playoffs was when they lost the super bowl in 2002.
@@ericscott9029 For a long time it's been hard to get guys to want to play for the Raiders. When you have a QB as dependable as Derek Carr who also wants to be there, you keep him. @@maplebear6527 True but Garoppolo is a solid replacement (I do think Carr is a bit better however). He might mesh in with McDaniels' offense better than you think, especially being on the Patriots with him when McDaniels was an oc.
@@ericscott9029 I appreciate the optimism, but in my opinion any combination of New England coaches running NE systems has failed with players coming over from NE. That magic has never translated to other teams. Coach Crennel, Coach Weis, McDaniels, Bill O'Brian. Shit, I could look like a HOF coach if Brady was my QB and Bill was running the team.
Derek Carr was/still is my favorite QB ever. Born in 2001 and watching the raiders since I can remember, Carr was the first time I ever saw us with a good qb. He made me excited to watch every week. Even in his rookie year and us losing I still loved watching the games because I could see that he was special. Unfortunately after his injury he was never the same, he just was paranoid and became the checkdown-god. He showed flashes here and there, but I don’t think he ever got over it. I really checked out when 1. The raiders left Oakland 2. Gruden era 3. Letting go of the only good players we had drafted in like 10 years. Still a raiders fan for life but I haven’t enjoyed watching them in a while.

Your documentaries are amazing and this channel deserves 950K more subscribers. I'd love to see you cover Donovan McNabb...may be a bit further in the past than most of your vids, but definitely one of the strangest careers in modern NFL history.
Hell yeah! Man, I think he should be in the hall. Of course I’m the only person I know that believes that.

I can feel Tom Brady’s gaze piercing into my soul.
Even though they never won a playoff game, the 2016 and 2021 raiders were something special.
If you rooted against the 2021 Raiders, you don’t have a soul
@warlordofbritannia As a Chiefs fan I actually was rooting for the Raiders in their playoff match up against the Bengals just because I wanted to see the Chiefs end the Raiders season personally after already blowing them out twice during the season. They'll also always have my gratitude for getting our 2021 season back on track.
Yeah they were definitely something special, special fucking Ed. So special they played football on a baseball field 😂 the NFL would be a better place without the Raiders idk how you wear that logo and feel proud lmao.
When you stay to the end, it sounds more like the organization failed Derek Carr.
The entire organization just keeps making stupider decisions every year. I'm sad to say it, but I am hopeful for at least 4 wins this season.
Because they did. :/
No doubt
I have nothing against the Raiders, but hiring McDaniels will be twice as worse as Gruden.
Aged extremely well
Man, I remember that 2014 season.
Now Carr has an actual defense. Let’s hope he succeeds.

You didn't even mention the years after the Super Bowl and how bad that was. Although, it was easier being a Raiders fan from 2003 - 2015 cause I knew we were going to suck. There's times I just think, "damn, we really are snake bitten", but then I remember that we are just the Raiders and inflict our own wounds.
I already miss carr, however O'Connell has me intrigued
O'Connell is gonna do the same thing that midget for the Pats did. Have a good game or two then get fig'd out by the league because he can't see over the O line. Crossing routes only work for so long. An elite QB like Carr who can make ANY throw is what keeps a defense on it's toes.

I have mad respect for Baker. I was never a fan but this year he proved me wrong. I cheered for Baker this season and will continue from now on.

Excellent. As a Raiders fan, it's tough year after year. If only I had picked a different team in Tecmo Bowl about 30 something years ago I wouldn't have had to worry about this. Darn you Bo Jackson for being awesome.😂
This is the same exact reason why I am a Raiders fan to this day. Because of a video game called Tecmo Bowl.
RAIDERS!!! 🏴☠️

Always found it funny how Raider's fans thought Antonio Brown was a good thing at all.
