The world is complex and folks feel lost and powerless against a changing world that feels less familiar and hospitable. The fear is real and all-consuming. I know because I have family members living in absolute terror of the modern world. The politics of division and fear act like a drug that makes them feel better about their feelings. The worst part is that these folks are cooperating with forces that are working against their self-interests thus making their lives even tougher. We live in an age where the rich call themselves poor and our sympathy goes out to them. Thank you for your video.
As a Norwegian, it is frightening to observe developments in the USA, and the way the fear you so precisely describe divides and blocks. Now everyone has to live with the global consequences - when they come. It is good to be reminded that there are Americans who are not paralyzed by fear, who see the beauty in a transformed trash can, and who have the courage to speak out against conspiracies, thuggish behavior, and lies. Courage!

It’s definitely symbolic of our times. And a reminder to meet your fear-full neighbors with compassion, love, connection and accurate information. There’s a lot of targeted propaganda aimed their way. Remember that! For some context, I’ve gone through every stage of grief and self destructive thinking - from anger and frustration to apathy and malaise in my career working in the devastated climate and environment space. I see science ignored, animals go extinct, core life support systems collapse. I’ve contended with misinformation and the uglier side human nature for years. What’s most clear to me right now is that we share much more in common with each other than we realize. And only through intentionally connecting with the other side can we overcome the divisive fear machine and heal ourselves, society and more broadly life on this planet.

It’s our ego, our egos feed us fear and anxiety and most people in this country don’t even recognize that aspect of themselves. It’s something in the way of us seeing the truth and sadly you even see this in the audiophile community a lot of the digressions are led by our egos and keep us from actually hearing the music.

I was sitting with friends in a neighborhood cafe in Tel Aviv yesterday morning when alarms started screaming all around us. While we were searching for the local shelter, 7-8 Iron Dome missiles rose into the sky to intercept the missiles fired from Lebanon into central Tel Aviv. Everything in life is about proportions. Even the levels of fear. BTW, never seen those ugly concrete trah cans in Israel.

Very few music rights owners make you take a vid down, they just won't let you make money on the video. This channel isn't intended to be a profit stream, I don't care about the earning, so I leave it in. I make very close to zero from this channel, but I hope some of the smaller artists I play get a little now and then.
That concrete roundel sort of looks like an old Edison cylinder. Quite the irony, no? I concur musically about Soul II Soul. I love the music and have since the release of their first single. I still play it to this day. Politically however we will agree to disagree, and this is supposed to be how freedom of speech among the socially and racially diverse should work.
