- May 2, 2024 - San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Art of Noise Exhibition. Devon Turnbull's Listening Room exhibit is an absolute must-see. The audio setup he custom-built for this exhibition is amazing, and the sound quality is something you must experience. Below is the blurb from his exhibit.
Devon Turnbull (OJAS): HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 2
Devon Turnbull, who produces audio equipment under the moniker OJAS, is a multidisciplinary artist who also works in music, fashion, and graphic design. Known for his brutalist, high-performance, hand-built sound systems, he is a sculptor of speakers and an icon of audiophiles. Turnbull created HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 2, a site-specific immersive sonic environment, for Art of Noise. This listening room-one of a handful of his "shrines to music"-is a functional sculpture that facilitates exceptionally high-fidelity music playback using analog media.
The custom-built system consists of alnico and beryllium compression drivers on brass and steel horns; alnico and paper woofers in plywood enclosures; alnico and beryllium super tweeters; autoformer-based crossovers; lacquered, cotton- covered, copper speaker wire; tube amplifiers; autoformer volume control; tube phono preamplifierscustom-built turntables; phono cartridges; a digital signal processor; a multichannel class D amplifier; and a 1970s Studer A80 reel- to-reel tape player.
HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 2 will be activated throughout the run of Art of Noise by operators who are noted music collectors, archivists, and musicians from the Bay Area and beyond.

I got to meet him at his listening room in NYC a few weeks ago. Simply incredible sound and a very nice and engaging man.
The very high efficiency approach sounds really different. I like it
Let's walk in front of the speakers when the music starts playing!
Interesting! Do you know any listening rooms worldwide that you can recommend to visit?
Thanks for this. I am going to get up there tomorrow or Monday!
Dig this!
Paying homage to the great TAD equipped Kinoshita platforms.

That's the difference between junkfoodmeal and fresh real foods
Plz upload demo videos if possible??
Even listening with high quality headphones would not make the sound and experience justice, you simply have to be there to experience the sound.

True sir
High end devices are typically sold face to face. A professional salesman estimates you, and say correct words to sell some st to you. They don’t give a f to pay a penny to YT to entertain such plebs like us.If you hear “special”, “extraordinary”, “amazing” every time that means they spend a dollar and want a thousand back.
All you need is a low distortion woofer and a mid bass in a stiff cabinet, and resonance free compression driver with a properly calculated horn. Everything else is an exterior and a title (but when you are not a famous title, you have to have a good salesman). JBL already discovered this long time ago as a result of hundreds of special tests with different audiences
If you own these, I guarantee you are single.😂
If you own these you can afford high end escorts 😂

Nee. Ein depp. Weil dich jemand über den Tisch gezogen hat. Überteuerte scheiss
