What a great conversation. Thanks for making this video. Love hearing these two talk shop… the passion they have for audio is fantastic. Love love love.
Just love it. I’m a big fan of two way horn loudspeakers, owning a pair of Altec Lansing Valencia 846a’s. I think you guys have knocked it out of the park. Congratulations on this collaboration. Now, where did I hide that vacation fund money?
I was introduced to stereophonic sound by the movies, and I was lucky enough to have a large movie palace locally when I was a kid. Westrex and Voice of the Theatre impress me now just as they used to. Give me good ol' Todd-AO 70mm 6-track sound anytime and I'm more than content. Klipsch was the closest way to get that kind of magic at home, and that speaker sitting there between you looks mighty impressive to me.
I thought I saw an MJ magazine? I loved looking at the Japanese diyers systems with huge horns with relatively low power tube amps all filling small spaces with big sounds. I need to look into your speakers for my current stereo. I applaud you & love you & Roy shooting the speaker breeze. Awesome 👏
I LOVE Bone Head. His voicing of my Forte' 4's is just fantastic. As a former Klipschorn owner for 14 years, these certainly are the little K-Horns. THANK YOU ROY !!, see you in the next Klipsch 'Lounge' 👍❤
Just awesome!🤝 Still using our ChorusII's, 1996 versions that we purchased in 1998. We have never had the desire to change them out. Well, once thought of La Scalas, but the room and price. A very short lived thought. We've been using a Zen Decware amp with them as well now. Absolutely amazing and as loud and clear as you'd ever want. Gorgeous sounding combo too. We're outdoors people, but when we're inside ..music is playing~ 👌 All the best~
Really nice and informative communication and without any bad back thoughts I really ask my self after 40 years of intensive Hifi which loudspeaker got sound wise better after the 80th 🤔 There are 4500 speaker producers in the world and it is a 25 billion market a year 😮 But for my ears the first serie of the Wilson Audio Watt Puppy,JBL and Klipsch was the best and there is no hearing forward experience after the 80 th 😢 All this so called new speakers are only a new design not a drastic better sound and every week a new story with a supposed better speaker is showing up 🤔 I understand that the industry have to make money but so long I do not hear something better I am out the chase. But I thank you for the Video 🎉❤
. The MDF is 3/4 inch. The more the edge is melted, the less structural material and the less likely screw heads will be flat to the baffle. Wood screws are "pulling" the baffle with a conical shaped force. It's not good material for a torque fastener. The woofer should be inset flush to a 3/4" decorative baffle, on top of a second 3/4" structural baffle. No screws but through bolt into a metal rear baffle mounting flange ring. Much stronger & the drivers can go in & out 1000 times without baffle damage. Acid Jazz, Funk & Brass 🔈🔉🔊
@@middleearthltd . The only problem is, backing rings are not a "thing" so there's no availability. I'll have to cut a ring out of some blank stock and maybe utilize those pop rivet type thread sleeves instead of fixing nuts. My woofers just came in this week so, time to get a mounting plan. 😁
Very nice collab, I love seeing this kind of stuff. JBL and Klipsch are my favorite in the game, and Devon is keeping Altec alive in his own way. I would however like to see Klipsch reintroduce a sealed Heresy variant. Rear porting the Heresy 4 is a heresy by itself in that it essentially eliminates the possibility of using the speaker as a hifi (or cinema) center channel speaker due to placement issues up against walls or media cabinets. The new model essentially eliminated the only "compact" speaker in the heritage range that doubled as a center channel. Glad I got my matching H3 anniversary model when I did.
Nice video. lovely looking speakers. Interested to hear the sound. I wonder why the bass driver has been mounted behind the baffle. Wouldn't that restrict wave dispersion, hence restrict soundstage in a way???
I love watching people work together on a project and have fun. There's nothing more fun than creating something that works, and even better if it's successful.
Beautiful design! By the way, Klipsch should come up with new high end horn speakers, a new line, not heritage. No slim towers, but stuff like this, with solid wood.
Would OJAS & work together on a larger speaker, like an OJAS/Klipsch La Scala? Or an OJAS/Klipsch Volti Audio Rival? Is OJAS interested in & experienced with horn-loaded bass?...
Now that would be interesting, to see hear your system at a LOFT party . The big set up you have on display at the museum. All the best on your collaboration. Any idea on price range .
They used the Heresy as model, not a lot of engineering, the drivers are off the shelf and they used Klipsch's manufacturing facilities. Just for S&Gs...$600 for the cabinets, $1500 for the drivers $1000 for the crossovers and $500 for the stands. If you add $3000 for miscellaneous the total comes to $6600. I'm trying, but I don't see $8500 in theses speakers. For that kind of money you can get a pair of Cornwalls and a Decware amp...
News to me as well. The JBL JS series stands are perfect for Heresy's. I use them with my H3 70th Anniversary model, on its side with the riser base removed, its my center channel, just as it was designed to be between 2 KHorns. Wouldn't work well with the new H4s due to the port though, probably the first true non-center Heresy so the stand they show here is better for the new H4. Might be a special order item from Klipsch. First time I've ever seen it.
If PK was still alive, he'd fire these two numbskulls for adding cheesy potentiometers to try and appeal to the common listener/buyer who are clueless why its bad. Klipsch are "bright" out of the box, but there are much better solutions to correct this by offering the buyer a few different options via the crossover, i.e., -3dB, -6dB, -12dB.
Om the OJAS web page these are like $8000 dollar speakers ,,,,, and the smaller ones are 6000 ,,,,,,,, I just dont see how these speaker justify the price,,,,,,, you can have Crites speakers make you something like this for 2000 and they also have a relationship with Klipsch .....
It’s “art” and he gives you a plain ugly box with a ceiling speaker in it for some of his models (without a proper baffle step and other crossover from what I can see). I don’t really get it but apparently it’s a hipster thing
C’mon man, the Olson speaker building years are over. You can build your own speakers in your garage and they will sound fantastic for 10x less of what these guys are selling.
a few years ago I saw some products where Klipsch themselves said something to the effect - in writing on the product box that the item was " Crites approved " ..... I assume you want specifics - call them and ask - they are wonderful people - to be clear I never heard them say it - it was just something I saw on line
I prefer active cabinets that reinforce the sound Steel baskets do resonate and are generally sub-optimal Most all speakers use cheap cross-overs I will take a pair of La Scalas over anything and everyone should get what they want
Klipsch sells cheap crossovers and unbraced boxes that resonate because thats what some people love. They dont care about making speakers for you. They make speakers for people who love dynamics and the feeling of a live venue. Heresy IV is a fantastic speaker for people searching for those qualities.I hope to one day own these K/O horn speakers.

What a cool collaboration. Love klipsch heritage and Ojas designs.

Love this collaboration. Following Devon Turnbull’s work was highly influential in my decision to pickup a set of Cornwall IVs earlier this year.

If I were back-mounting that woofer, I would melt the baffle edges of the round cut-out

Ooh man I can’t wait to see more of these 2 ! Young Master + Jedi Master ..lol
But what about time alignment? Is that worked into the crossover?
Are these Altklipsch or Klipschtec? 😮
Interesting video. Cool speakers.
When is this coming?
Great video, very interesting

Kudos to Klipsch for such a thoughtful collab! That whole McLaren collab the other year made zero sense to me, this does in a big big way!
I love watching people work together on a project and have fun. There's nothing more fun than creating something that works, and even better if it's successful.
Would love to see an exterior dual horn option on the Forte’s with both vertical & horizontal options…
Really cool stuff 😊
Such a cool collaboration.
When will this be available to purchase ?

very subjective question, but which tube amp would you recommend to pair these speakers with? i listen to a lot of funk/soul/dub.
Good marketing all around boys. Would love to hear a pair in my home or in a listening bar near you and I sooner than later.
For me, a horn speaker is only a horn if the bass is also a horn!😉
I think so also. But I notice from photos, that OJAS speakers usually don't have horn bass. Or am I wrong?...
Don't they look like mini Altec Valencias rather vintage Klipsch?

Armstrong Well
I think Klipsch should consider marketing those stands being used on these Ojas for sale for use on their Heresey IV speakers.

Seriously
These 4 tiny screws holding the driver right on the baffle edge and also the thin box material are an engineering delight.
😂
Don't worry, we'll get off your lawn soon enough...
It's plywood, strong enough for those screws, and the driver is a large high-efficiency unit that barely needs to move.
I noticed that too! $8500. ? Seems like a money grab, to me! Still needs a sub! Marketed to the hipsters! 🤔

So question, why klips make cheap cross overs and unbraced boxes resonate. A $10,000 speaker with a steel frame woofer, really that’s not a quality.
