This boat still needs a name. Let me hear your suggestions in the comments!
Loving this series. I have wanted to build one of these for years. How about “Al in”? With Al graphics from the periodic table.
Making Waves
Long before you are done you will be calling it 'A lot of Work' as there are a lot of hours in one of these.
I subbed up just to follow this build.
Cirrhosis Of The River
Boaty McBoatface,but I hear that's been taken.
I’m loving watching these videos. I’m thinking about doing one myself. Your instruction and description technique is really helpful.
Thanks!
Weldy McWeldface :^) As a tribute to how much welding you've done on it. Fantastic work!
looks good 10/10 for giving it a shot most people are to afraid to give something like this a shot, the only things I can recommend is when welding you should always weld into a weld not start on a weld and also do as many stitches as you can, when using sanding discs or cutting disc use a bit of bee's wax your consumables will last 20x as long
Thanks!
Thanks ka-Metal for this video I just have fun watching how to build a speedboat if I'm gonna be lucky to have money to build one but I'm very impress at your work you have a facility and complete tools to use at any project u made love a lot to your channel ka-Metal
Thanks for watching!
That's a TON of work and crazy hot. Thanks for sharing.
Boat name idea: AL - because it's made of aluminum. ha ha
I was so excited to see this come on my feed! Thank you for all the details you share!
Thanks for watching!
Coming along great. Alumi - Jet We Argon
Boaty McBoatface ? Worth a try.
Man I can't wait to see this thing on the water!
Me neither, the rate I going I'll have it ready for winter, LOL. Thanks for watching!
Just some tips. You need vapor cartridges on that mask. Those are just dust filters. Don’t grind down any welds if possible. Loving the videos!.
Thanks for watching!
Be interested if you went over your welding setup ; amps, wire size ,machine used etc.
Sweet Spot
Just a pain in the boat
Your doing a great on the boat. If it keeps raining the way it is, your going to need it!! I subscribed to your channel a long time ago because you do make a mistake or two. It's a REAL time video instead of some tubers that have a "look at me" or "look what I have" RUclips channel. Keep up the great work. By the way, cut the hair short for the summer and it'll help for NOT overheating. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the sub! Mrs. Making Stuff won't let me cut it short.
Name- "JALO" because it's hot and everyone will want to get in it!
You really need to be back grinding those outside welds with a mini skill saw blade on an angle grinder.
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Brilliant video thank u, 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow that's a lot of welding. Glad you are persevering with the almost unbearable heat. Soon though, you will be jetting across the cool waters! Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see the next episode!
Thanks for watching!
Looking good there more like a boat. How about calling it Jetson. Yeah just a suggestion.
Very Cool, I'd like to build one, ballpark what do you have into this? what motor did you use? Thanks for sharing.
It's gonna depend on what type of donor ski you use. Plan on spending at least $25k, more if you want to make it fancy.
Looking good, keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Betty the jet
Good stuff! How many of those mini spools did you go through? I have built two 10 ft boats and tig welded the whole thing took ages!
I'm on spool #6 right now.
Just curious as to what brand aluminum wire you are using? I’ve been using the Lincoln 0.35 super glaze.
Torch craft marine sells floor support kit you should look into for your next build
I would name it Wake Breaker!
Name for boat...The Maker
New subscriber here. Love the video. Whats one of these kits cost at the end of the day if you dont mind me asking? Im really interested in making one myself.
It depends on the features you add to it and the exchange rate with Canada. Check their website for current price.
Name it, 'Spool Gun'.
Those things are a ton of welding
Cool !
Great vids. Nice work. What engine do you plan on using?. Keep up the good work.
Yamaha SVHO.
Mantap🤗
Are all aluminum parts the same thickness? 3/16" or are there any smaller ones?
The sides, transom and bulkhead are 1/8", the stringers are 3/16" and the bottom and chines are 1/4"
As far as the cab goes I would have TIG welded all the cap and all the exterior parts to make it a better look. Imo . And I meant to ask too far as welding wire goes are you using 4043 or are you using 5356?
I'm using 5356 because 4043 is too soft. I was going to TIG the outside, but it takes 3 times as long and the welds are going to get ground down smooth anyway. So it isn't important how they look.
Amazing project! How does it compare when using spool gun for aluminum mig welding against normal mig torch?
They both make the same quality welds. If you are going to do a lot of welding, the spool gun is more reliable and going to make it easier.
@@MakingStuff Awesome. Thanks for the reply.
Hello, what size, grade of the aluminum of this boat? What amps, wire size ,machine used are you using? What state did you say your in? Trying to come up with a name this Buccaneer.
Name it, making stuff.
Is there any particular type of aluminium that is required for boats?
I hate welding thin aluminium as there is a very thin line between trying to control your puddle and blowing through. I would name it Wake Breaker!
I think 5356 is good for water applications, but not really sure. Thanks for watching!
Doesn’t work to well here in the USA, but could go with the AluMini Jet!
How many hours did it take to fully complete the build?
I've been working a little each day and take a lot of breaks due to the heat, but probably have about 15 to 20 hours into at this point. Once I get it flipped over and get the bottom welded, most of the welding will be done.
Fast AL or Fast 13
13 being the atomic number
Weave the backside
If you haven't named it yet, how about "Silver Bullet" ?
Tôi muốn làm 1 chiếc như vậy , ban không chia sẽ kích thướt .😢
Tinfoil terror!
Nice!
Reynolds warp
Want to be all dimensions for cutting aluminium sheet
speed
How long is your boat
12 Feet
"The EverMaking"
what is the thickness of the aluminum plate please?
The bottom of the hull is 1/4inch. The stringers are 3/16, everything else is 1/8.
@@MakingStuff thank you so much.
Boat name “liquidus” the lowest temp in which an alloy remains liquid.
How about "Make Room" or "Wake Up"
Part three?!!
Working on it.
After all that welding I would name it "Sparky" or "Frayed Ends of Sanity"
Or "Sick of Welding". Thanks for watching!
Buccaroonie
"SKIPPER"
Jettin Stuff name of boat
You always have great videos. But, but in the past I enjoyed your videos more because you would build complex things that I could build and inspire non pros to take on challanges. When you stared building the track vehicles, I started loosing interest.
I hope you go back to building more practical things.
Looking forward to those videos.
very bad cold welding. sorry
Hey if it holds then you know you can lay shitty welds and it’ll hold🤷♂️
