    I am a fan of atomic shrimp and I am now a fan of yours. Good content, no arms waving about or swearing, and a calm delivery. Well done !

      Thanks very much! This is very much inspired by Atomic Shrimp but I hope it didn't come across as too much of a blatant copy haha

      @@harrywalbyoff2 No, you put your own slant on a similar challenge . I hope you will do many more in your own way. I was so impressed with your previous video and what you did with a miserable looking pasty !!

    I wander around these meal challenges looking for recipes that are low cost, have few ingredients yet are still customizable, and sometimes I get lucky. Can't wait to try your chili!

      Hope you enjoy it! Especially with the freedom to add a few more ingredients

    Hey Harry, loved the video. Great vibes, good sound quality and calm presentation. Got here with some help of the good old algo (from an Atomic Shrimp vid, where else). Best of luck with your channel, certainly it will be a hit! Now off to the second day...

    Amazing work Harold, the chilli looked very tasty! Little tip for peeling garlic: squish the garlic with the flat side of your knife after you cut the ‘root end’ off and the skin will peel off much more easily :)

    • @harrywalbyoff2
      @harrywalbyoff2  Год назад +1

      Haha, thank you thank you. I did but it got so sticky :( maybe I'll put the entire garlic saga in the director's cut

    I always crush the garlic with the flat of a knife, makes it easier to just pull the garlic skin away

      It's the kind of thing I'd usually like to add a few more ingredients to, but the basic recipe is great!

    Good demo when folk are strapped for cash right now. A suggestion I would make if someone can't afford to buy a lot of different spices, I would buy just curry powder and cajun powder as there are lots of spices in them.

      Thanks for the comment! I think that's a great tip, spices can really add up

    The knack with cheap beans is to cook them over a low heat for longer

    Red lentils are cheap and are great in vegan chili! :) I make vegan chili all the time, even though I'm not a vegan lol.

      Lentils would have been great but they'd still break the budget on this challenge! Normally I'm a fan :)

    No black pepper but: from where did the garlic, parsley, sugar and cinnamon magically appear?

    • @harrywalbyoff2

      A teaspoon from the cupboards each was just one of the rules we added in to make the challenge a bit more fun

    Disappointed we didn’t see you in the shop so we could see itemised prices as you got them, you said it cost around £3.99 but receipt 🧾 shown £5.98 - you also said black pepper was not permitted then added black pepper to your beans on toast.

    • @harrywalbyoff2
      @harrywalbyoff2  Год назад +4

      Hey Joe, the black pepper on the beans for this day was a part of our teaspoon allowance for each meal. And the extra £1.99 can be attributed to a bottle of coke my girlfriend asked me to buy while I was at the shop
