I think you could benefit from a Proplugger to help fill in those bare areas. Check it out, Grass Daddy did a nice video on one. Also, mulching your clippings does not introduce more thatch and 2" is too short for TTTF. Just a little info that was a shade off but great video pal!
Agree on the proplugger and the height of Tall Fescue. I mow my TF at 3.5-4". You can get away with 3" early spring but start raising it up as you go into the summer months.
I don't understand how this is your first cut of the year. I'm much further north than you in West Virginia and I've been mowing twice a week (Turf Type Tall Fescue) since the last week of March! Great video as always!
I beat up my yard this season pretty hard! The result from that is, as you can see from the video, the Bermuda wasn't really growing at all until this past week. Same for the back yard. The weather also has been really up and down here in the south. I saw some of my flowering plants bloom in late February, only to die off the next week when everything froze over...again! Prior to making this video, my yard was no where near as full as it is now. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Bermuda does not strip well. It would be better to use a motorized reel mower with a roller, similar to what they use on golf courses and baseball fields. Folks don't understand that your warm season grasses like Bermuda is a whole different animal and you have to take a different approach to maintain it than your cool season grass types. You don't core aerate it in the fall, it's better to do it in the summer when it is rigorously growing so it can spread thick. Also what people don't understand about Bermuda, what height you will keep it, at least half of it will be brown, so if you don't have a perfectly even lawn or reel mower you will see brown spots in it almost as though you scalped it. I like the series and it's helping a lot of folks out but your approaching it as though it's a cool season lawn. Bermuda LawnCare is totally different.
Great video! Happy to see your lawns health!
Thank you so much! Pretty happy to see all the hard work paying off!
You're very welcome! It is a wonderful feeling!

Did that a few weeks ago! good stuff.
Bermuda doesn't grow until its warm enough. Unlike fescue.
Edging always looks better. It frames your work.
