@Howard .Hopkins no, but i heard that the xsx controller needs to be updated using a pc or xbox to current update before using it. I just went ahead and kept using my dualsense for steam/steam deck

yes, you can also just use the deck controls + controler for shared screen coop
My switch controller only works on the steam deck device, but not on the actual games. Very strange.
Weirdly enough this works with my xbox one controller, but not my xbox one s controller, It pairs but then the controller just stays flashing

My steamdeck was able to detect the XBOX controller and 'seems' connected. However, my XBOX power button continue to flash the light like it was never been connected successfully. Steamdeck bluetooth status = 'connected', XBOX controller = not connected! Please help!

My xbox controller shows up on bluetooth, and it "connects", and it says it's connected to an xbox controller, but the controller wont get out of pairing mode and the steam deck wont respond to the controller's inputs

I have the hardest time getting my xbox controllers to connect. Either it wont "see" them or just won't connect

Just to let you know you can't connect xbox wireless controller unless you own a xbox or a pc with windows to be able to do firmware update which I think is stupid

That shouldn't be - if you follow the steps in the video its straight forward. If the XB controller you have require a dongle? If you have to sync the pairing
Try updating firmware on controller
Update the firmware in your controller by going to settings on series x. You may also have to unplug your Xbox power so that it doesn’t automatic set itself to Xbox. I had to do all this and it finally connected to steam deck.

Your definition of "any" is very different from my definition. PS3 had wireless controllers as well.
PS3 works as well, but you have to connect the PS3 controller once via USB for the controller to be authenticated for BT as the controller is not able to change their BT host at will (like on the original console).
My Xbox one controller (original, not X or S) won’t even show up:/
This doesn't work, the controller connects but isn't read as input in any games I've tried. Controller is seen by steam but does nothing in any game

Xbox Series X|S controller won't pair with the steam deck for me.
Not “any” will work. Many reports on Reddit that some of the Sixaxis models will not connect, namely the CECHZC2EB1.
I bought a brand new Xbox controller and it doesn’t stop blinking and won’t connect to the paired controller.
Do you mean in general or only when you try to connect it to the steam deck?
@@Wild4 I bought it specifically for the Steam Deck because I thought it would connect. When I go into settings - Bluetooth and try to connect it just keeps blinking. I’ve paired it how I’ve been told to but it just doesn’t connect. It’s a bit frustrating haha
@@MichaelDadourian having the same issue right now. The weird thing is that the controller worked just fine the last time i tested which was a month ago
