Perfect timing for this video. 1 weeks of constant rain. 70% rh. I am looking for something like this! It looks like a perfect setup. I would love a follow up on it and here your opinion.
I was very impressed when I first saw this Dehu. Then it occurred to me that it was a very similar shape to my own one. So I have made a hat for the top of it. with some ducting attachments and a box, I have shaped to fit. I have a flap that lifts when it comes on, so have given it enough height for clearance. It's app controlled, so I don't need the dashboard, which is now under the hat. I'm in veg now, so don't need to use it. so I have a few questions... does it make the sides of the tent swell. or can you keep negative pressure without the extraction fan having to run to high. As don't want to upset people with the stink. I noticed you poked the ducting though the top. But I recon the tube is best pulled down to near the floor. so it bonces off and up through the plants. Looking forward to see you you get on with it, while I'm waiting for the flower zone to use mine.. I don't suppose, you could give me the length and width dimensions of the oval opening, without the hat on.
This dehu is definitely a small one at 19 inches tall 12 inches wide. The opening for the ducting adaptor is 10inches x 4 inches. As far as the ducting goes I just set this up the way the user manual shows. Since Spider Farmer provided this I want to run it how they say it should be for a little bit, then I’ll start making changes to the setup. Making your own ducting hat absolutely a great idea. Got to utilize what you have in the moment. I make a hat for my window ac unit once, covered the ducting in hvac insulation at it worked perfectly.
when i first saw this i thought great but seeing you set it up Im a little skeptical to know if it will actually work . I dont get how putting the extracted air through the dehumidifier & pumping it in to the tent will drop the humidity inside the tent. For me you need to be pulling the air & moisture out the tent ? . I look fwd to an update from you to see if it actually works or not . my only other thought is put the dehumidifier in the tent & vent the air & moisture out ? but then you are back to the problem a lot of people have doing that is space & the heat from the compressor raises the temperature . thanks appreciate your video & your efforts to show off this new product . its a 110v unit so not available in Europe yet as we run 220v here.
I myself was skeptical also but so far after a week of using it it’s doing better than I had thought. I’m still going to give it a 2 weeks of using it this way and see what really happens.
Most people have the Dehu in the lunge room outside the tent, taking moister from the air, so the tent is pulling the Lower humility air back into the ten through the vents in the tent. Doing that usually requires have the dehu set a few % lower than what you want in the tent, As the Dehu only reads the air very close to it. By pumping directly into the tent, you are giving the tent the undiluted dehumidified air.. Unlike the passive intake of the tent vents, that pull in everything. I've had to experiment many times to find the best place to put my Dehu, in order to fit in the centre of my air circulation in my sealed room with tent. I used to have to aim the dehu blower, down the side of the tent, to the back vent, as that was the best way of creating a lower RH air pocket near the only vent I opened.
@@EasternGrows757seems to be giving me from 55% to 65% bumps and jumps, it may not fully be there yet but close? Not sure, during the warm up mode to it just fans in air not dehumidifying it or nothing, hence the 66% humidity before it kicks back in 🥱
Is it restricting the air flow with it against the tent? Do you have the back of it next to the tent air vent sucking air out of the tent? Very nice unpacking and overview video thank you!
I do have the back face the tent but it was only close to the tent for the video. I pulled it a foot away from the tent after the video. I will do an update video in about 2 weeks. Thanks for watching.
Hi. Have you started that follow up vid on the new dehumidifier by S.F.? I live in florida, 3x3 tent for flower, need to bring humidity down to 50% & be repeatable 24/7. Your thoughts?@@EasternGrows757
@stuck3179 don’t know who you’re calling a clown but the update video was uploaded last week. All you Gotta do is look at the playlist labeled equipment reviews.
It’s not pulling humidity out of the tent, it’s adding dehumidified air into the tent. So the air that’s going into the tent will be going in at whatever humidity setting you have it set too. So if you have it set to 55% humidity, the air going into the tent will contain 55% humidity. I would put the dehumidifier in the tent, but dehumidifiers make a lot of heat for a small space.
@EasternGrows757 my hi sense blows out cool air also when it's turned up higher but if I turn it down way lower when the Compressor kicks on it blows hot air out.
when you are using SPIDER FARMER DEHUMIDIFIER how you can deal with smell in this situation . Because dehumidifier put dry air inside and the air inside will go outside in open port and do not run to carbon filter .
Yes the dehumidifier is blowing in dryer air but I also have an exhaust fan the I connect my carbon filter too. The exhaust fan pulls out the air inside and filter the smell through the filter. It’s like a recirculating cycle. Dehumidifier blows in and exhaust fan pulls out.
Seems like.
A nice dehumidifier. Thank you for sharing.
So far it is.Thanks for watching.
I have this dehumidifier. Trying to get my humidity down in my 3x3.
Its 63% in my tent right now with the spider farmer dehumidifier running 24/7
they recommend to put it where the plants are.
you routed yours up high
Yeah I wanted to see how it would work on the outside of the tent high but next I’ll go low.

Oh I am most definitely going to have a review update in 2 weeks. So far my tent is maintaining 55-56% on continuous mode.
Wow, that’s dope

with a Tpiece pipe you can do multiple tents but does that size shift enough air around for 2 tents from a Tpiece pipe?
Unfortunately is doesn’t push enough air for 2 tents.
What size is the ducting it comes with, as in diameter
6”
Does it increase temp in the tent?
Nope. The air coming out of the ducting is cool air.
How’s it pulling any humidity out of the tent

Also its a small Dehu i think it's only a 32pint. You're better off spending another $100 and getting a 70 pint for the last ng room.
Yeah the SF dehu is 32 pints. A 70 pint would be nice but I’m just going to use a drain hose and not use the catch bin. This should suffice for now.
