- Learn how to factor trinomials when the lead coefficient is not one. For example,
2x^2 + 14x - 24 is an example of a trinomial that a is not equal to one. ( Lead coefficient not one)
You can remember all of the steps by using,
Find, Rewrite, Find, Rewrite
1.Find the factors of the product of the first term times the third term that add to the second term
2.Rewrite the trinomial and split the second term into the two terms from step 1.
3. Find the GCF of the two binomials you created in step 2.
4. Rewrite two binomials after factoring out the GCf of each binomial.

I am so Glad I found a creator that still post science and maths!!!!!❤
Thanks I try to upload a new Math or Science video almost everyday.
Alternative method: the AC method.
5x^2 + 13x - 6
x^2 + 13x - 30
(x+15)(x-2)
Now, account for what you did at the start. You either divide a constant or multiply by the x by the amount your A value was. You need to do multiplying by x on one of them to ensure the coefficient of 5 on the squared term.
Notice that 15 is perfect divisible by 5 while the -2 isn’t. This means I can divide the 15 and multiply the x in x-2
so it’s (x + (15/5))(5x - 2) = (x+3)(5x-2)
