- For the past 44 years, Tower of Power has been creating their own kind of soul music. Since 1968, Tower of Power has delivered their unique brand of music to their fans, appearing before sold out crowds as they tour the world each year. Tower's sound can be hard to categorize, but the band's leader and founding member, Emilio Castillo, has labeled their sound as "Urban Soul Music." The band's horn driven sound is unique, and the way they approach everything, from writing and arranging to mixing and performing, is totally their own. Combine all of that with an outstanding lead vocalist and you have one of the most dynamic groups of musicians to ever hit the stage.
The GOAT of T.O.P. lead singers!!!
my 2 cents for what it's worth. the only reason LB is not the GOAT is because he never had an original signature song of his own. i love "could have done it better" but i only heard them play that song once in concert!. got to meet him and he is a super nice guy.
Thank God for RUclips because I can still listen/watch Rocco play the bass. He and David lock in so tightly it's as if they're one person. I could listen to these guys all day long!
Glorious memories of Blackpool Mecca, in the Highland Room on a hot summer night in July 1975. The symphony of my life
This show was at the Wilmington Opera House, Delaware. I was there, just happened to get a ticket,,
it was booked by being on Utube...Got a ticket. The show was video taped for PBS. Great theater.
Thanks for this post! Grateful for RUclips!
Every performance of theirs is so damn good. I don't know how they can be so consistently great!
That is one of their trade marks, they have a very very good average.
It's because they play constantly. Either on the road or in the rehearsal studio. They don't let the vibe get cold.
Always something new to grab your attention with TOP. That Kupka can sure dance. I think there’s a TV program made for him and guys like me!
Grew up with them in 70's they rock!

The love of my life took me to see TOP and sang this to me along with the band. He broke my heart but I will always love him. When we met he looked up into my eyes and time stood still. It was the most magical, strong and strange feeling. I left knowing we would end up together. It took almost 2 years but it happened. I've never felt that again.
Still goin’ strong putin’ it all together!
Tower of Power is out of this world. No better rhythm and blues band .
TOP of the line.
Badest Band in the Land "Ladies and Gentlemen the Tower of Power Horns !!!!" Larry was a real showman, miss his smoothness and the way he highlighted the other players in the band.
